The 5K capacity floor for this video blocks out a few arenas in the area: La Salle, St. Joe's and Drexel's basketball venues, as well as Temple's old arena which I believe is used for their volleyball team now
I’m really happy you put the Philadelphia Soul’s logo, our arena football team, up during the Wells Fargo center part but they don’t currently play there. They’re dead
A lot of fans want one but the Union ownership can't even support the MLS team so we would need a new owner or investor for a women's team unfortunately.
Franklin Field was once home to the Eagles before the Vet and to the famous 1960 NFL Championship where the Eagles beat the Packers. This was the only post season loss in Vince Lombardi's career as an NFL head coach. And the Eagles didn't win a league championship again until Super Bowl LII.
I was actually at Lincoln Financial Field a few months ago for Wrestlemania 40 and it’s nice for sure just a little pricey like all other sports and event centers
Finneran Pavillion at one point was called DuPont Pavillion. After John du Pont's involvement in the murder of Dave Schultz, Villanova decided to remove du Pont's name from the arena.
This native Philadelphian thanks you for the video. A few small quibbles, though. "Spectrum Two" was renamed for various banks for the simple reason that the banks paid for naming rights. The same can be seen throughout the US. Remaining with the two largest cities in Pennsylvania, Three Rivers Stadium was replaced as home of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers was replaced, respectively, by PNC Park (a bank) and Acrisure Stadium (insurance). And, as you noted, the Vet was replaced by the Phils and Eagles playing in stadiums named for a bank (Citizens Bank Park, actually owned by Royal Bank of Scotland, ironically) + a financial services firm. The Penn Palestra is notable for two other things that you didn't mention. It has served as the traditional home of the Philadelphia Big 5, a league of sorts in which Penn, Temple, St. Joseph's, La Salle, and Viillanova compete for a championship. The competition is legendary in its intensity and is often credited for Philly-area college teams punching above their weight, so to speak, against national competition. Today, due to increased attendance, Big 5 games are more often played at the Wells Fargo Center. Also, the acoustics of the Palestra are such that a small crowd sounds big, and a big crowd sounds like nothing you've ever heard. I've been there for some great games, such as Penn beating Temple in a Big 5 game, and the sound was overwhelming. The Philadelphia Eagles used to consider Franklin Field as their home stadium, before the Vet was constructed. Finally, I suspect that most locals would think of Temple as being slightly less prestigious than Villanova. Very entertaining video, though. Well done!
1:48 Also, they light it in a rainbow pattern for night games in June (at least they did for the June 27, 2022 game against the Braves and June 27, 2024 game against the Marlins, the only two Phillies games I've attended)

The Vet is a Philly icon, especially the 700 level! That's all I could afford! Also, I'm from Chester & Subaru Park was a big deal when it was being built.
I’ve been waiting for your take on Philly stadiums, nice to see! And you’re right. Franklin Field is one place nobody complains about the track. And even though the Blue Hens play in New Castle County which is part of the metro area, I don’t blame you for not including it. It’s a bit too far to be considered “Philly”.
Franklin Field, The Palestra and Finneran Pavilion are awesome! I think you should reconsider your capacity cut off. This video left off Daskalakis Athletic Center (Drexel), Tom Gola Arena (LaSalle), Hagan Arena (St. Joseph's) who along with Penn and Villanova form the Philadelphia Big 5 historically big basketball rivalries.

My dad's office would get group tickets for the 600 level, had some fun times. Of course stopping dad from trying to box the Rocky statue after a game, with people starting to line up for a Boston concert was not fun.

While I understand the disappointment, it does state Minimum 5,000 spectators in the beginning for an indoor arena. The bingo hall on Swanson and Ritner does not meet that threshold. I do however feel ECf’nW could’ve filled the CoreStates Center at their peak.

Wells Fargo Center was previously known as First Union Center, aka F U Center.
That feels very appropriate for Philly lol
That's awesome and fitting. Yinz jaggoffs behave over there ya here. You don't want the renegade to put you in your place.

Those were great days. 😂
Also the home of the National Lacrosse League’s Philadelphia Wings.
