Perhaps you are correct, but in my defence this is titled an analysis, not a performance or tutorial on how to play the piece. I'm not sure how I could analyse it without the talk.
I assume that you know about melodeon.net. They have a tune of the month feature and there are lots of uploaded versions you might get some tips from. I'm not allowed to put a link in here so I've put it in the description at the top.
Thank you for posting this very interesting video. In addition to this being an easy to understand analysis, I think viewers who are learning this piece can get helpful insights from this video. At least, that's the case for me
It's interesting that you say this might not be written for the melodeon given that Andy Cutting doesn't play anything else as far as I'm aware. This isn't meant to be critical in any way but I think you hadn't come to terms at the time with the fact that the composer is a natural musician with no formal training. I love the way you've pulled it apart and gently put it back together again, recognising it for what it is, a well constructed, balanced, clever and very pretty tune without flaws. A masterly critique, you should do others!
Fascinating ,I am a melodeon player and I am trying to learn this tune by ear.Useful.
Nicely explained, interesting watch. Thanks for sharing. :)
