Fr a lot of people are making comments. Like what did they expect? He moved to the US when he was 5. Of course he was going to have an accent.
The fact that he can speak Russian at all is amazing since many immigrant families tend to not pass on the native language or only partially do it. My own family is like that.

Just because he got 1 or 2 comments here and there on facebook or youtube doesnt mean anyone cares if he has an accent or not.

Exactly ! I speak several languages and don't have the same skills in all of them. But I'm always glad to speak with people who come from another country in their mother tongue, it makes them so happy !
It doesn't matter that you make mistakes or have a terrible accent, people are usually glad you're making the effort. Plus, using every opportunity you have to talk helps you improve.

A lot of native English speakers transition between different English accents throughout their lives due to a move.

As a teacher of Russian for foreigners, I can see the interference of English in the Russian structure "ask IF I speak" literally told "спрашивают ЕСЛИ я разговариваю" (говорю ли я).
It's not good or bad, it's inevitable in the situation, and lots of kids in the families that moved to another country have this.
