I'm a first time mum so I don't know if most people do this anyway, but I've found 3 things that really make a difference to my happiness and energy throughout the day.
Firstly I try to do a face mask while I'm doing a chore that takes time like, washing up or putting a mountain of clean clothes away, putting on and removing a mask really doesn't use up much time.
The second thing is make sure the house is mostly tidy before I go to bed as I find when I wake up and all I see is things I need to do, such as washing up and toys everywhere I'm overwhelmed before the days even started
FINALLY, the best thing I've found when I manage to do it, is to wake up at least half an hour earlier than anyone else so I can start my day in peace just sitting down slowly enjoying a coffee and washing face brushing my teeth with no interruptions, I never thought I would like waking up early but I get so much more done and just having that time to myself makes me so much more patient.
    Hopefully that's helpful to someone

I do this too! I always wear masks when Im doing chores and wake up early to make sure I take care of myself before my kids wake up.

I love putting my headphones on and listening to all sorts of talks (generally motivational and/or parenting videos) whilst I’m tidying up after my son goes to bed. This way, none of the chores feel boring and I get to listen to something that I like because it is impossible to listen to talks/podcasts etc during the day while your toddler is awake.

Am writing this for myself to follow, i had to come here for some inspirations. If u like some or all of them, u can follow them too:
    1. Go to bed by 10.30pm. Make sure kids are asleep by 8.00pm so i can have some time for myself.
    2. Drink lots of water. Keep hydrating.
    3. Same as u said- dont forget to eat.
    4. Get some house help.
    5. Bulk cooking
    6. Get on the treadmill atleast 30 min everyday while children are playing or napping.
    7. Exfoliate n do a face pack atleast once a week.
    8. Have some fresh air twice a week. Leave the house .
    9. Do not say no when someone i trust offers to look after the baby.
*comb my hair daily n dress up for myself. Comfy yet cute
*do one household chore everyday that i have been putting away.
*do atleast one thing that i enjoy every week
*stay off the phone as much as i can. It eats away all my free time without me even realising.

Saving this video!! For new moms with no childcare, I suggest one night per month or every other month with a hired night nurse or dedicated friend who will allow you get a night of sleep!

One thing that helped, is doing realistic exercise for mental health reasons. Not to lose weight or look a certain way, but to get that refreshing, clear feeling after I did it. Moms have alot of pressure to lose weight, to be a certain way physically, taking that pressure away makes you just feel better. So this could be taking a 15min walk or doing a 15min walking exercise (with GrowwithJo) or just taking 5 minutes to stretch and breath

Found this video after a major anxiety attack at work a week ago 🙃 I became a mom June 2019 but had my stepkids, 3 of them before! It's taken almost 3 years to realize how much I neglected of myself! I was just like you mentioned in the beginning..."self care is for single people with no kids, I don't have time for thar!" Oh boy, did life hit me hard! Thank you for all the great advice!

Omg I need a self care day badly... I got married in 2 years ago and got pregnant immediately. Now she is one and I’m 5 months pregnant again. This is a drastic change from the old me who was always on the go going out getting dressed and pretty. I feel like I let myself go and it’s bothering me. I love Ben g home with my children but i have not done anything nice for myself In 2 years.

I love how realistic these are, I am soon to be a mum of three working full time and also making videos for youtube!!! .... So I love your ideas about eating healthily and realistic exercise! I started doing 15 mins per day of pre natal exercises on TH-cam and increasing it from there!! 🌿💜😘🙌

That's brilliant, Elizabeth! It's so easy once we get rid of the unrealistic ideas of self care we build in our minds. Well done for starting! xx

I love your tips they are very realistic and easy. One thing I started doing while I am pregnant with my second child, is sometimes when my toddler is asleep, I take a nice bubble bath so instead of laying on the couch/TV, I lay in my bathtub with nice zen music and a drink. Also, find a passion or an activity you like to do, like sports, paint, writing, decor, photography, anything that gets your creative side going and that you love doing. Keep going super moms, it seems like it's always about the kids but don't forget about YOU , before becoming a MOM.

I made a video about this too since I'm a single mom to twins. I think its important to invest in yourself and do things that you enjoy so you don't get lost in your role as a mom.

Enjoy this video and ideas! I enjoy yoga and dance fitness. I just don’t have the time or resources to go to the gym, so I found a great TH-cam channel with yoga and another with fitness videos. They are 20 minutes or less and really help me clear my mind and get some physical activity after the kids go to bed.

I know this video was a while ago but I will comment since you asked 😊. Taking a shower daily . I know it sounds dumb but I’m a married mom of 2 who works full time at home and you would be surprised at the amount of times I ask myself “did I shower yesterday or the day before ?” Also - when it comes to exercise - I run down my hallways while I clean the house . If I need to put up laundry or whatever - I run to my destination . Yes it looks strange - but my apple watch says it counts ❤

Islamic ritual prayer performed five times a day can be quite relaxing if performed with the right mindset of leaving all your worries behind and giving them to Allah to take care off. While you need to clean your self , your young children will see you and you can encourage them to join and wash themselves and this can become a fun activity together while teaching them to clean up and stand in front of Allah to pray.
