I was in AFJOTC in mid 80's in Florida and achieved the rank of LtC. I then went into the AF after High School. I am doing a shadow box of my JROTC days and I was frustrated that I could not find the Service Uniform Device, now I know why. Thanks for the video great job.
I attended Air Force Academy High School and we organized at the Wing level. There is also a City Corps with all Chicago military academies and JROTC programs fall under lead by a cadet brigadier with four diamonds on their collar.
I really enjoyed going to AFAHS and was part of the staff. The Cadet City Corps was unique to my knowledge. chicagojrotc.com/m/pages/index.jsp?uREC_ID=167051&type=d&hideMenu=1#. I haven’t heard of any other cities with a unified program for all academies and programs.
Sam Patton when i was in you could qualify to wear JROTC ground and flight badges if you were also apart of the Civil Air Patrol unit that partnered with our school. I know that they now have aviation courses at the school with flight simulators but unsure if they now do flight courses along with aviation.
I’d like to see the Space Force adopt something similar to the pip-and-diamond system the JROTC uses-with the exception of the ranks of 2nd LT through Captain (I would have used one, two, and three bars respectively). The pips would be reserved for warrant officer ranks. It seems very Star Trek-ish in a way. (OK, so I’m a geek.)
I find it interesting. I was in AFROTC at the college level and the rank badges and cap devices you show for JROTC are now he came as we had at the college level. In my senior year I as a Cadet LT Colonel and graduated in June 1966 and as commissioned a 2LT in the Air Force. Do you plan on doing college level ROTC in the future?
NJROTC does not put service stars on the collar or anywhere around the J-Bar. They are worn on the chest just above the ribbons. They don't give out honor roll stars. That's stupid.
@@cpine9062 I understand but there is an honor roll ribbon so the stars on the collar are a redundancy. Next, stars on the color are not in the NJROTC uniform regulations, probably because of the redundancy. It only talks about j bars and rank being on the collar.
When he said the newest JROTC I thought he was about to say Space Force JROTC

For NJROTC, you would wear the HR Star above the J-Bar and the SVC Star above your ribbons.
AYE LETS GOODDD

Cool, not standard but interesting.
Great school. I had never heard of it before. Would be cool to go to a school where every student is a cadet. www.afahs.org/

So if you can get your pilot license at 16, there’s no specific badge for that?

I am in AFJROTC and only in the second week of tenth grade and I am already a Second Lieutenant… is that good?
@@brooklynmccraw165 yes
@@Jamal-im5yu now I just got promoted to a Cadet First Lieutenant last week and have 14 ribbons now😊
@@brooklynmccraw165 frickin awesome
You need to do Kurt Russell in Stargate and compare his character to the TV show to see if the medals are the same.

I think that may be a school by school thing. I'll try to look for the cadet guides I found from several schools and link to them.
