Man, this is absolutely the best Astrobot Longplay I've ever seen. A longplay that shows 100% of the game, without unnecessary backtracking and that gets straight to the point and shows the entire game. Great work. Like Super deserved. PS: I'm happy that this game won GOTY. Finally some honors for Platformers too.

Majority of those saying "this won GOTY" probably only played 1-2 games a year and think they've played it all lmao. I finally checked this game out and 4-5 hours in, I'm in love. Haven't had this much fun with a dumb look on my face in a while lmao. The immersion and mechanics are so unique, definitely got me exploring all that I can possible. I enjoyed Wukong and Elden Ring, but that game is more rage filled than anything. If you're still flabbergasted that Astro Bot got GOTY, maybe you should actually play it before putting in your opinion. :)

This run seems edited since the game is around 11 hours long if not focusing side stuff. But to be fair a lot of people prefer short games over games that takes over 20 hours to beat

I see a crap ton of negativity in this comment section that I don't like from Astro Bot fans, Wukong fans, and other game fans. These are just game awards that celebrate these games. While I know it's a shame that Wukong did not win the game awards, I think this game looks rather endearing and I would think about this if I had a PS5. most people didn't know what Littlebigplanet was either until it CRUSHED the competition and won a ton of awards and it's VERY similar to this. Also PS exclusive. Very colorful, very polished. Great use of controllers mechanics.
LBP was a multiplayer that you could play online and hot-seat at home. It had a level creator many modern games would only dream of. Going thru player-made campaigns with cool and goofy ideas, self-made stickers and stuff with randoms was peak LBP. Astrobot is a Mario clone that has none of that going on, besides cutesy design and being another PS exclusive game
Congrats to a game I never heard of. I am going on 60, but it does look like a pretty cool family game. I watched the whole award show hoping to get a preview of Elder Scrolls 6, but I should have known better. lol
I mean yes its a good game, but this is a ps exclusive that most people can't play, and on top of that, it costs 60 dollars usd for about 12 hours of gameplay or less

A short, simple game but it's packed with so much fun stuff! This is what I like about video games: simplicity & fun. I'm so happy it won GOTY! May this be a sign to Sony and the rest of the industry: just because the budget is low (Astro Bot was made by only 60+ people in 3 years), it doesn't mean you can't make great stuff!

To give a reasonable take (On the internet? Crazy, right?), I'd like to say that Astrobot's got more going for it then I thought. It's cute, bright, reminds me of my childhood games like Mario Galaxy or sunshine. That being said, it does lack a strong narrative, rich character development, a banger soundtrack, and intense action, which are present in 2024 games like Infinite Wealth, Metaphor, and Wukong (not sure about Wukong, have yet to play it).

Whatever people want to believe, this game just oozes passion in every single corner. It's basically as flawless of execution as you can get, and you can see how much this studio cared about making an actual fun game from head to toe. It's really well-deserved. I don't understand the hype around Wukong. It's a great game, yes, but compared to any Souls from From Soft, it really lacked a lot of polish in the gameplay and mechanics. Lies of P absolutely smokes it and that game was never even considered a GOTY contender 😅 Balatro is crazy fun and addictive but I think it's a bit out of its depth here. Elden Ring even though GOATED shouldn't have been nominated and then between this and Metaphor it's hard, two amazing games in their own right, and both stand their own ground.

most people didn't know what Littlebigplanet was either until it CRUSHED the competition and won a ton of awards and it's VERY similar to this. Also PS exclusive. Very colorful, very polished. Great use of controllers mechanics.
LBP was a multiplayer that you could play online and hot-seat at home. It had a level creator many modern games would only dream of. Going thru player-made campaigns with cool and goofy ideas, self-made stickers and stuff with randoms was peak LBP. Astrobot is a Mario clone that has none of that going on, besides cutesy design and being another PS exclusive game

To give a reasonable take (On the internet? Crazy, right?), I'd like to say that Astrobot's got more going for it then I thought. It's cute, bright, reminds me of my childhood games like Mario Galaxy or sunshine. That being said, it does lack a strong narrative, rich character development, a banger soundtrack, and intense action, which are present in 2024 games like Infinite Wealth, Metaphor, and Wukong (not sure about Wukong, have yet to play it).

Whatever people want to believe, this game just oozes passion in every single corner. It's basically as flawless of execution as you can get, and you can see how much this studio cared about making an actual fun game from head to toe. It's really well-deserved.
I don't understand the hype around Wukong. It's a great game, yes, but compared to any Souls from From Soft, it really lacked a lot of polish in the gameplay and mechanics. Lies of P absolutely smokes it and that game was never even considered a GOTY contender 😅
Balatro is crazy fun and addictive but I think it's a bit out of its depth here.
Elden Ring even though GOATED shouldn't have been nominated and then between this and Metaphor it's hard, two amazing games in their own right, and both stand their own ground.
