Great unboxing and my name is Malcolm. There's a lot of different parts in this kit. The 2 speed gearbox is a lot quieter than the one in my MC4 as that so noisy. The wheels are nice as mine are plastic with just metal beadlocks. The plastic axles are a advantage as they do not need to be painted. I see the tyre treads have better gaps so should have more grip. The body does look nice and a lot less work, the figure I repainted to go in was a Dr Who Captain Jack Harkness, a good fit as it does not need to much trimming to get the legs is the right angle. You have jumped in the deep end of kit building as this is not a easy one to really start with. There is a advantage as the newer manual will be a lot better than what I worked with. The screw bags should be numbered as the later kits had this improvement, but if not sure measure the screws to be on the safe side. Shame you are not doing a full build but I will admit it's hard to film and build as you do make mistakes. Now enjoy the build as it will take sometime as when I built the HC6 it took 40hrs of work to finish and add on when painting time for it to dry a long job.
Thanks for the reply Malcolm. I am scared about the build but I like a challenge. I won’t film as I build. Mainly because I want to avoid people (not you) having a dig at my mistakes plus it will make me nervous lol. I will however do build updates so film after each stage, talk through it and share my views as a newbie. Thanks for the info and your help. Much appreciated. Terry.
I do not blame you for only doing updates. Only small people dig at mistakes good people point out that you need to change something. But you will do things and then be able to say be careful and do not do that. One thing if you are too tired then stop as that's when I find things go wrong, or if things are not going right walk away and when you come back you will find it's not so bad. Have you decided what paint you are going to use.
Basildon Trail Blazing Buddies thank you for the advice. I will take that onboard for sure. I want to paint it grey all over. Simon recommended Halfords primer as being the best under coat. Can you advice on a good paint that works well? Cheers.
