  • Wekiwa Springs State Park, our first experience RV Living Full Time, mid February 2020. Come swim in the 72 degree crystal clear spring waters, watch the Ranger feed a baby gator and a snake at the Nature Center, walk along trails and boardwalks, visit Sand Lake, see Ruben the Raccoon thief, and ride in a canoe to Wekiva Island. And of course swim with Mermaids.
We wanted our first experience as new full time RVers to be special. So we drove away from our home of 23 years and went to Wekiwa Springs State Park & Campground. We wanted to experience The Real Florida. Well, plus MERMAIDS!
“With emerald springs feeding the Wekiwa River and lush tropical hammocks, this unique park just minutes from downtown Orlando is perfect for observing abundant wildlife or cooling off on a summer day.
Miles of trails beg to be explored on foot, bike or horseback, and canoes and kayaks are available on-site. It’s easy to see why visitors have been flocking to beautiful Wekiwa Springs since the mid-19th century.
Wekiwa Springs has a special place in the hearts of those lucky folks who grew up nearby, spending weekends exploring the spring vent and paddling canoes past the purple blooms of pickerelweed.
Orange County’s longest-running tourist attraction, the azure waters of Wekiwa Springs have been a popular leisure retreat. From the dense, almost tropical hammocks near where the springs feed into the Wekiva River to the scenic sandhill uplands, the park is rife with opportunities to see many kinds of animals.”
    www.floridasta...
Wekiva Island, a short canoe ride away from the park.
“We are proud to be Central Florida’s favorite watering hole. Located just north of Orlando, our indoor/outdoor recreation complex is the best place to enjoy Florida’s natural springs. We invite you to experience the pristine Wekiva River and its year-round wildlife by canoe, kayak or paddleboard. Our spacious 2,000-square-foot area also offers many activities for landlubbers, like volleyball, cornhole and a picturesque boardwalk that overlooks the river. Unwind with daily drink specials at The Tooting Otter craft beer and wine bar, enjoy a bite to eat at Without A Paddle Café or shop for uniquely Floridian gifts and souvenirs at the General Store. Cabana rentals are available for group outings and celebrations of all kinds. We are family owned & operated and our facility is environmentally friendly.”

That is an amazing place. Scrappy looking at the fox was so cute. Poor Scrappy and those darn restrictions (for her protection 😉). The swim was great and loved the underwater footage. I would love exploring that crevice in the floor of that area. That hike was beautiful. Scrappy having fun hanging out with you both is so awesome. OOPS, Scrappy swims twice. 😂
😂 at you two in the canoe. You are so much fun. Loved the turtles. Millennials-😂 That was just wrong but really funny. It was cracking us up because as soon as said all the young people, some guy our age was following you. Larry the snake whisperer. What a great journey. Loved this video! It definitely was not a water moccasin to big cotton mouth an water moccasin is in same family but moccasin is not even half the size of cottonmouth so if it was a either it be a cottonmouth an laying on limbs is not their nature they lay on land near water. Water moccasin lays in tree limbs above water. I read the comment .

I was there one time and the raccoon was the star of the show a long with the mermaids. Tons of people were taking photos of that raccoon and I debated lecturing them to leave the wildlife alone. Then I sat down and that animal tried to get into my cooler. Please people don't befriend the wildlife, then they are no longer wildlife.

This is the problem. Everyone is running out. Getting a GoPro and going look at me doing a selfie video of something that thousands of other TH-cam channels already did. This getting sad for newbies starting a channel. The other video you did of your slide gear and warrantee. The only reason is you video it. That warrantee next time most likely not going to pay if the Service man list parts come loose again. Denied.
