I was addicted to this place back in the 80s when I was writing for the Kingsport Times-News.
LOVE me some Ridgewood BBQ! I've eaten BBQ all over the country and Ridgewood is absolutely the best!

Can smell that video! I am a proud NE Tennessean that now lives in SC where they think they know BBQ. However, Ridgewood is the best BBQ I have ever eaten and I have had BBQ all over the US. I remember when Mrs. Proffitt would "ask" you to leave if you were in line at closing time. Next time, run those fries through that blue cheese dip. GO BUCS!

Before you decide......try Mike's BBQ in Mountain City Tn. I've been eating BBQ for decades and I've never tasted better. I prefer mine with no slaw.

Lol. I used to work there as a busboy. The smokers burned trash in the pits, the kitchen was disgusting and drug abuse ran rampant. Not to mention Ray Harrington constantly on his high horse. The bbq was subpar and the menu was severely lacking. Save yourself the trouble folks. This place is being kept alive by a false dream.

Huge fan of BBQ, and I've tried a lot in the Smokies and in Memphis, but I've yet to find any as good as my home town of St Louis, if for any reason you ever come to St. Louis, try Pappy's Smokehouse! That pork did look good, thanks for the review

Littions in Fountain City Tn has the best Blue Cheese dressing . Plus I don’t care for Blue Cheese put this stuff is addicting. You should do a review on Littions.Great place and the burgers are huge.

My husband and I decided today that we'd visit one of our favorite BBQ places here in N. Alabama, Full Moon. We both got pulled pork sandwiches and onion rings. And our bill was 30.00. I laughed when I watched your video because the prices were so similar. We've only been total area of TN. Once, but may need to get back to try this place! Thank you for sharing!

Everything looked great, but I don't like hickory flavored meat... but it did look great.
It’s not that strong-the hickory smoke flavor.

I still can’t get over the size of the sandwiches. Almost as big as my head. The fries look like drum 🥁 sticks. Next time I go see my son in Kingsport we will have to drive over to Bristol. I’ve tried several restaurants from your videos and they have all been great!

There have been numerous celebrities stop by here to eat. The guy at the counter is Ray. People come from miles and miles away to get the blue cheese. The restaurant dates back I believe to the 1950s. It is still owned and operated by the same family. There is 2 kinds of cole slaw. One kind comes with the sandwich if you want it, but the best slaw comes with crackers....yum yum! There other food selections are just as good.

Karen,, if you want a burger, get a burger, we have a place near us that has been written up in NC magazines about how good the bar b que is , Allen and Son BBQ . My husband does not eat bar b que, he always orders a burger or hotdog. I do love some BBQ myself. This place sounds wonderful and set back off the main roads is my kind of eating place. I visited the Bristol area a year ago, and plan to return to the area at some point. I will make an attempt to visit this place. I have had BBQ in East TN, but this place sounds great. Boy, that BBQ looked pretty darn good as did those huge fries and I don't mind waiting if the food is good. Do the "sammiches" come already sauced or do you add it yourself? Thanks for taking us along.
Comes already sauced and there is also sauce on the table. Order the beans and put the sauce in them. Also Order the dinner slaw not the sandwich slaw. Enjoy
