In 1988, Valentine broke Superstar Billy Graham's leg on WWF television. This was supposed to lead up to Valentine vs Don Muraco, who was managed by Billy Graham.
Instead, after a tour in France, Muraco would find himself fired from WWF. The storyline with Superstar would never be mentioned again.
⏯ Watch more Greg "The Hammer" Valentine: • Greg Valentine - What ...
Interesting to note that these shows from France were one of the World Wrestling Federation's first attempts at global expansion. WWF would run two shows this tour, one in Paris and one in Milan.
The matches were used for Prime Time Wrestling or exclusive Coliseum Video releases.
After the backstage incident with Nick Bockwinkle, Vince McMahon made the tough decision to terminate Don Muraco's contract. The Hammer would move on to feud with Rugged Ronnie Garvin.

He actually is. In fact a lot of them were really cool cept Don Morroco. He was an arrogant ass in the ring and was an even bigger one outside of it. Back then when WWE/WWF were doing civic centers, now they only do coliseums, they would all go to this Polynesian restaurant named Hu Ke Lau after the show was over since it was always open until 2am on weekdays and 3am on weekends. Every time I went to see a match I would go over there and eat myself. I've ate with a lot of different wrestlers back during the WWF days. The two that stood out with me was The Hammer and Afa and Sika aka The Wild Samoans. Greg is exactly like you see in these vids. And a fun conversationalist but a bit on the reserved side. As for the Wild Samoans, they were incredibly cool nicest fun enjoyable guys out of that ring. And damn!!! They sure love to eat! I had my stuff but they practically ordered nearly everything on the menu. The bill if I remember was couple hundred bucks plus they even picked up my check. When they saw that I was done they handed me one of three Pu Pu platters. And what surprised the hell outta me was when they are on the road they only have soda, fruit juice, or milk. But man, between them two they practically polished off over 200 bucks worth of food. But man I asked all sorts of questions not on wrestling but about their Samoans' way of life. Unfortunately, that restaurant is no more. Five years ago it was burnt to the ground and the owners never rebuilt.

Don's pretty chill about it, though, and says getting fired by the WWF was the best thing to ever happen to him. Too bad about the angle with Valentine, though. I do think it would have been great had they ran a heel vs heel angle, especially since Muraco has said repeatedly he thought being a babyface was boring.

Plus Muraco was singing a drunken song too. He was left behind and made his way back on his own dime after that song he sang about nick and pat! Then Vince said I gota suspend you but with pay. Muraco said if you do I quit. And that’s the whole story but the words that he used about nick and pat were for sure anti gay and it upset them alot plus he didn’t respect anyone! He would leave to go surf in Hawaii 4 months a year and leave in the middle of an angle year after year! 0:15
Plus the most unhappy guy Muraco was. Plus booze and gas! He was a mean drunk. Nothing that’s not been said by others before! Not nice in person either and if he is it’s rare! Always has a ax to grind! Just a negitive guy like dynamite but not as bad.

2:53 I don't think the WWF hired a red London bus for travelling across Europe! More likely it was a double-decker motorcoach.

May have been just when they were in UK

@@teller1290 (1) I live in the UK and I went to WWF and WCW tours and they usually hired two motorcoaches, one for faces and one for heels (WCW seemed to be stritcter about the separation, although the WWF would pull its curtains closed when pulling out of a venue where fans were milling around.
      (2) The late '88 tour Don Muraco went on did not visit the UK. The first Euro tour with UK dates was Oct '89. At the time of Muraco's tour, the WWF's home Sky TV was not yet on the Astra satellite and local British wrestling still had a couple more months to run on ITV. The only WWF most people in Britain had ever seen was five so far out of six WWF specials that aired in ITV's Sat afternoon timeslot during its final two years (the last of which was a few weeks after the Euro tour.)

MR. G. VALENTINE, WHEN YOU WERE WRESTLING, YOU PLAYED IT TO A TEE. I KIND OF DID NOT LIKE YOU. ( BAD GUY ) I GUESS IT CAME FROM WATCHING BOBO BRAZIL, ANTONINO ROCO( A ) FROM ARGENTINA? KILLER KOLOSKI, ETC. ABOUT YOU BROTHER, " YOU HAVE SOMETHING THAT YOUR PARENTS GAVE YOU, THAT IS , " THANKFUL, GRATEFUL, AND BLESSED. AND MOST OF ALL, CLASSIC CLASS. DO NOT EVER EVER LOSE THAT MY DEAR BROTHER. THE MAJORITY OF THE FANS ❤️ LOVES, HATE 😈 THE ENTERTAINMENTS. ONE FACT THAT NO ONE KNOWS IS THE REAL STRESSFUL LIVING SITUATION OF THE MAJORITY OF WRESTLERS. AWAY FROM FAMILIES, FRIENDS ETC. THAT IS NOT NORMAL. THOUGH I MUST ADMIT THAT I AM THANKFUL FOR THE MEMORIES. AGAIN MR. G. VALENTINE, TAKE CARE OF YOUR FAMILY AND YOURSELF. YAHWEH BLESS US ALL 🇺🇸 🙏. AMEN TO THAT. 🙏
