I don`t normally write comments on TH-cam, but this time I have to. I`m from Denmark, and we`ve had 2(3) of these machines on our golf course for about 6 month now. I work as part time mechanic in the club and know my way around machinery. Sadly I can`t recognize the piture painted in this video. We`ve had all sorts of problems and breakdowns. We have had to put up big transmissions masts in order to reach entire lenght of fairways. Two machines and two charging stations for 9 fairways. Our knives certainly don`t last that long. They get dull or torn off the machine if they meet a solid objects as rocks/branches/pile of dirt from animals ect. We have to check them on a daily basis to make sure everything is ok. As you can tell I`m not a big fan (yet). Solid improvements have to be made to the machines and software..........

    great little machines.
Our local course has 2. one to cut grass on driving range and 1 to collect the balls up.
our local range has large tractor tyres for aiming at and these just stop withing inches of them, turn and cut around the edge.. excellent kit.

I bought one 7 years ago as my garden is 3/4 acre, and used to take forever to mow, 3:58 plus I ended up with tons of clippings. Now I have time to play golf instead of cutting grass. One of my better decisions.. deffo this is the future for golf courses.....

    Good Evening Graham and Warren
You have overlooked one major 'con' in the use of these machines at night ie THEFT. Two men could lift and carry one of the mowers off. I wouldn't advise their use during darkness unless you beef up your security.

They won't work with out the Dock and the mast which are both programmed to each machine.
And they are GPS tracked. And I can see where it is anywhere in the world.
One got stolen in Merseyside and the police tracked it to the car it was in.

The beauty of automation is that it gives people the time to focus on those things require human attention. Now, greenskeepers can spend their time perfecting the greens, altering courses, or those other tasks they would love to be doing instead of sitting on a mower for hours at a time. Keep exploring the business side of golf in your videos; it's very interesting.

I’ve seen these ‘gadgets’ come and go over 30 years of club management; from the promises of 50% savings on watering programs, to eliminating pieces of equipment, savings on chem and fert, to 50% savings in f&b.
Thinking that this will not eliminate jobs is akin to putting your head in the sand.
This is a great idea for a government golf course, but any Director of Agronomy or Golf Course Superintendent worth mentioning would only consider something like this for a driving range or possibly the facilities short course if you are lacking labor.
No chance in hell of being proud to put your name on a golf course maintained by this product.

So basic business laws here, these mowers increase base line costs as an outlay so 1, charge more to cover that 2, reduce other costs to cover expenditure, I think they are great they even go back to there charging points to sleep and charge, I've built little kennels for them at a rich folks gafe, (orange blob on lawn offended there eye) didn't sack gardener just reduced his hours. Tethered goats better at keeping grass in order but golf ball in head often upsets them.

What a great video Liam 👏🏻👏🏻 like some people have already said the only down side I can see is vandalism but as a course purchased more machines over time the usage at night would reduce. using solar power for recharging has to be the way forward. The freeing up of greenstaff time for more labour intensive jobs has to be a benefit.
