At 9.01 Rajtanil ma'am says that the North western part of India , i.e Punjab, Haryana and Delhi do not get rainfall in winter . But , we know that these areas indeed get rainfall in the winters due to the Sub Tropical Westerley Jetstream carrying moisture from the Mediterranean Sea in winters. This is called as the Western Disturbances.
mrunal.org thanku you very very much.......... very nice video for most important and fundamental subjects, economics and geogrpahy........ BECOUSE---English me to bahut videos mil jate hai uploded by nationally or internationally but i dont found any good video in hindi.....these are very very precious for not only hindi medium but also english medium students to clear concepts. ............once again thanks a lot.
sir /mam , its all amazing videos on geography really so best lectures on geography. please upload video lectures of history ,polity , economics . please please i really impress to your explanation . please though on these subjects please i have downloaded all of your geography videos . and i watched all videos . please thought on these subjects . this is my humbly request to you
Are Jet streams always upper air circulation? if yes. Then how somali jet stream is supporting south west monsoon as somali jet stream and tropical easterly jet stream are opposite in direction (3:37 & 7:45)
Tibetan plateau act as low pressure area during summer and air from there rises and go to Somali which is high pressure area during summers, jet stream when they subside (sink) at Somali they will come at surface level and they will help in pushing the south west monsoon wind towards indian subcontinent .
+Anshika Sinha the answer to your question lies in the ocean currents off the coast of Australia and Peru. Along the eastern and northern coast of Australia flows the South Equatorial warm current, which increases the temperature of North and East Australian coasts. With regards to Peru, the Peru Cold Current (which has also helped in the genesis of the Atacama Desert) helps in creating a High Pressure zone off the coast of Peru.
Mam the explanation is excellent but mam there is a question - Does the bay of bengal branch of Indian monsoon moves through the eastern ghats as shown at 16:54 ? Shouldn't it move towards N -E direction???
Mam I think IOD needs some correction. IOD refers to difference in the surface temperature of Indian ocean. When the ocean waters near the mascarene high are warm and near the western Australia Indonesian region they are cold, it leads to a pressure difference in the air hence the winds blow from east to west and subsequently from mascarene high to the indian subcontinent. This is termed as Positive Indian ocean dipole. Whereas any reversal in this arrangement is termed as negative IOD and it adversely affects the monsoon precipitation in India.
Your videos are very very amazing with clear explanation....But please show us maps closely .....We have problems in understanding because of that.....thnx
Anshika Sinha Bcoz of the easterly winds flowing in that region the ocean currents will also flow in that direction ie. eastern Pacific ocean to western pacific ocean . Due to which warm water will be present near Australian coast and due to upwelling cool water from bottom will be present near Peruvian coast. Due to the warm water present near Australian coast low pressure area will be created near Australia even though it is winter there.
mame i have tried to get the PowerPoint slides link provided in the description box to watch the clear slides but the link let me again to the you tube video????? your explanations are extremely well but unfortunately we have still some doubts regarding slides plz help us
I have a doubt man if southern branch sub-tropical westerly jet is over north India then there will be high pressure in sky and on lands low pressure actually this will support monsoon in my view

i have a question mam. high pressure kyu hoga australia ke upar jabki winters hoga waha to HP hona chahiyr
