They're the ones doing Youpi dirty. His writing isn't bad, just because it's not predictable. Honestly, the writing for all guards and especially Meruem was all great.
I am so confused at why you two still think Youpi had bad writing, he was a very simple character that grew incredibly all after a single battle and then after he believed his King was killed, he regretted his previous decision of sparing his enemies..... But even then, he was honest about his feelings with Meruem, and Meruem himself acknowledged it that it doesn't matter that he acted that way, all of that was part of the process for their potential evolution as a species, so even that was good stuff. Sure, he died offscreen but it was still very impactful so i don't see anything about it being bad whatsoever Also read the manga-
I don't understand why you and others still give a fuck. Do you think they are gonna read your comment and make an apology video for interpreting it correctly?
@@In-The-Zone reaction videos in general attract an audience that is invested in the reactors opinion, understanding, and enjoyment. obsessing over this, while annoying at times, is the whole reason it's popular. did you think with this comment you're stopping them from being posted?

I just want alicia and Ozu to stop saying "they did Yuupi dirty", I understand, I was also sad when Yuupi reversed but you don't say that the they did Gon "dirty" and he and Yuupi went throught the same thing, both losing something important to them to the enemy, which turned their honest and even heroic characters to ones focused on rectifying their mistake and destroying the responsible person I am kinda sad, that in this translation Neteros last words to meruem mention "humans potencial for evolution" becouse it could have also been translated as "humans potencial for malice" or so, literaly showing it was the worst in humanity that crushed Yuupi's growth as individual, masterfully playing into the themes of this arc and certainly not "doing Yuupi dirty"
If it ain't broke, don't fix it in the best way. The endings all slap so damn hard in their own way too. Hyori Ittai has to be one of my all time favourite EDs hands down from all the memories.
Gotta keep in mind that HxH 2011 went non-stop from start to finish, it wasn't seasonal like AOT. It was a constant production because they were adapting everything that had been written already, the start and ending were set. Likewise while doing it, the studio were working on other seasonal projects at the same time. In fact almost right after HxH ended, they gave us season 1 of One Punch Man.
My favorite piece of 2011 version for sure. It had a very old school 90s anime vibe to it. Hyorri Itai was great too but more because of Komugi and Mereum relation.
The reason they chose ending 3 as the song for Gon and Killuas departure (pun intended) is because songs have lyrics and lyrics match themes. The lyrics of ending 3 are about letting go of what you know to open yourself to new experiences to live life fully. Which is perfect for two friends separating.
For the York New and Greed Island arcs, I definitely recommend listening to the music fade out from the episode *into* the endings. They are not weaker, at least imo, they just bleed more into the episodes themselves and that can feed into the hype for them. Without those intros, as much as the 'woooOOOOOOOO' might drive people nuts, it really makes it more fun and enjoyable when you get to them, even the slow ones. *Especially* hunting for your dreams, that intro playing at the end of an episode, you do eventually get pretty hyped for it LMAO
There hasn't been other reactors I've seen make such a big deal about ending 3 at all. It's just these two. It's unfortunate cause they skipped the openings and endings more so cause of spoilers (and I get it for the most part.) Just hated that by the end of the anime ED 3 didn't hit as hard or feel special to both of them.
The band's name for the 1st ending is Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. They have banger tracks, and Gong of the Knockout is for Baki's season 2. One of their guitarists/bass guitarists passed shortly after they made this song but I recommend giving this one a listen
Well, it has more then two, six actually. The 90s anime does finish up to the Greed Island ending, they did Greed Island as an OVA series, so the Greed Island arc has the same song for 2 of the openings. in order they are: Op 1 Merry Go Round Goes (( love this song, super nostalgic for me at least. )) Op 2 The Sun Shines Also At Night Op 3 PALE ALE Op 4 PRAY Op 5 Believe in Tomorrow Op 6 Believe in Tomorrow There are also 7 different endings in total. So while that first one is very great for me nostalgia wise, I do legit like all of them. I also do not think the 90s version is better really, I know some people say it but honestly both adaptions are good and bad on some aspects, the 90s version has quite a bit of filler content that kinda does not work that well, while the newer adaption had filler content that fits more with the story, that said there are naturally some cuts and some toning down of scenes, which amusingly, they made several of the Chimera Ant arc scenes far more graphic then the manga, and sometimes far more horrifying. But they also cut the entire first chapter until the Chimera Ant arc which, was always a bit weird but I assume they did it for pacing since they rushed through the Hunter exam.
@@DecoyBlackMage Dude Pale Ale was my jam back then. Legit one of my favorite anime song at the time while I was still in high school. That said, they're all great.
In today's landscape of animation, I think HxH stayed consistent throughout its run and holds up to this day. Don't try to compare it to what we have now for animation when it's just fine the way it is. The art and animation is S-tier. The amount of detail in the shadows, the eyes of the characters, their facial expressions, and their nen is mind-blowing. Like seriously, watching the nen surround the bodies of the characters look so beautiful. Saying they got lazy with the endings is ignorant to me. Each ending, after the first one, complements and fits the feel for each arc going forward. Sure the first ending hits good, but it's my least favorite. Literally the rest are leagues better with Hyori Ittai being my personal fave. The second ED is so badass to this day.
Departure is cool because the full song has two verses, and the OPs just switched back and forth between the first and second verse. it makes listening to the whole song feel like...listening to the whole series in its totality. and listen, the constant lyrical reminder of "you can smile! :D" was MUCH APPRECIATED DURING CHIMERA ANT ARC and cannot be overstated I got no opinions on the EDs, they're all kinda whatever for me.
hope you read the manga, you'll be very satisfied with what comes next leorio turning to look at kurapika at the end of the last ed is a nice nod to the manga
I adore the manga as much as the next guy, but I don’t think Alicia will want to read a wall of text (albeit great and interesting) at times, especially in the later manga volumes. She’s probably too occupied and not as invested as others in the show too. She enjoyed it and is content. Probably
@@stellarinktest Nah im with you, that would be awesome. I know it probably won’t happen any time soon, but seeing Alicia react to that ANIMATED would be so delightful
She said she doesn't read manga anymore, so I highly doubt it. But I honestly don't want her to, if I'm gonna be completely honest. It's not my place to say though. After the CA arc, I'm burnt out from watching any more HxH reactions.
I love Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas (band of the first ending) so much. If the anime kept going to the manga, with how dark its getting, I feel they should use another one of their songs if it ever happened lol.
would love to see you also react to the previous adaptation opening and ending because damn the 2nd opening is such a different vibe as much as the first ending
I really do love the opening, it super nostalgic but the two different versions help to set the tone of the arc. As for the endings it's interesting cause I usually see people disliking the first opening and the rest they enjoy (awoo being hit or miss). Screamo ending was definitely of the times though (similar to death note opening 2 lol).
That first ending is iconic for how different it is and how present it was in early anime youtube and Hyori Ittai is iconic for how much perfect it fit for the chimera end arc and especially it's ending
Departure! may be one of my favorite OPs of all time. It's up there with We Are and a bunch of other classic OPs. While I hope that they'd bring it back as the OP if HxH ever gets a revival, if it doesn't come back, I'd get it; however, if they were to announce a new HxH anime, I'd want the announcement to just use the first, like three seconds of the song (the "boop-deh-boop-deh-boop-deh, bwaaaaaaaa" bit), and that's it, because people who know know and would be hyped as shit. I also really like Hyori Ittai (the song used in the last two endings). It's just a really good song.
Departure is the perfect opening no need to change. When you here it you wanna grab your shit and go on an adventure with your Friends. Its punchy, its energetic.

The hunter exam is definitely the ending I let play all the way through the most, but for me I'd say York New and the first Chimera Ant EDs were my least favorite EDs, and honestly even thought I listened to the Exam ED the most I think Greed Island was my favorite. And further, while I feel like the Hunter Exam ED fit the start of the series I feel like such a hard rock track wouldn't really fit the rest of the series. I love my punk, rock and metal music, but if I had song like that coming on out of nowhere after finishing a stressful episode of HxH I'd be way more likely to skip that at the more fun lower stakes first 2 arcs of HxH
oh wait is the first ending made by the same group that did Parasyte's OP? sounds similar Also for the greed island seriously you should watch the official visual clip of that song it looks so fucking corny it made me appreciate the song.
