Howdy Chet! That story about the Hodge Cemetery was from me! I used to be the secretary at the Vine Church in Temple, and still live in the apartments right where the little cemetery is located. Am so glad you are on TH-cam now that I no longer have cable. Have watched and enjoyed for years, plus articles in my electric power magazine. We just honored the 20th anniversary of the space shuttle explosion over our little county. East Texas Museum.
Thank you for turning us on to Palacios! We like to take our RV and stay at the trailer park across the ditch from Danny's. We have also stayed at the Peaceful Pelican. We want to stay at the Luther, but I can't deal with the door frames and cased being that far out of plumb. First time to listen to the podcast, will catch more. We met on a F-berg wine tour. Talking about ghost stories (not towns), I thought Jefferson had a great ghost tour and a lot of good stories/history. My family and I went there last Thanksgiving and had a great time. We also went to Granbury one weekend just before Christmas. Question for a future Talkin' Texas podcast: What are your favorite day trip cities within a day trip from D/FW?
