To me, Lovebites are the golden standard in Metal. How they take all genres of Rock and Metal infuse them together and make it their own is beyond amazing. Great reaction!
They are one of the rare bands who sound live better then their studio recordings in my opinion. The studio version of judgment day is already epic but this live version sounds even heavier. Also the drumming of Haruna at the start. 😮❤
Fantastic live version. Midori almost plays some kind of solo the whole song. The Crazy Shredder. Of course all the ladies are incredible. That's why we love them so much.
They are getting better every album they make, and live they deliver. Th best female metalband on earth, even better than most male metalbands.
Fun Fact. If you rotate each of their studio album's/Ep's as well as listen in on their Live releases and their studio live recordings/covers. You have over 20 hours of Fresh sounding material that Never gets boring or old and will reward you with the Wow factor quite consistently. They have a stagger amount of Music theory peppered into every instrument and the final production is nothing short of Class and Technical Professor level Musicianship. Generally you will have a band with one or 2 virtuoso's but Lovebites has 5 Legit God Tier Musicians.
Mark my words - in years to come this will be recognized as one of the CLASSIC performances of ANY metal song !
These "Metal Queens" as I call them, are on another level. I'm glad to see that their new CD/DVD Knockin' at Heaven's Gate, now out as of August 23rd, has three songs never seen in concert before, which are Nameless Warrior, Stand and Deliver and Judgement Day. I hope to see them someday play Soldier Stand Solitarily live. Though I miss Miho, Fami has fit into the band very well. It's great to see all the smiles on the ladies faces. I'm sure they are extremely happy at playing live after not doing so for 2 years.
Nameless warrior is another one never done in concert before. I don't think it's going to be long before they start doing some more from judgement day cd, soldier stands solitary and dissonance will be awesome 🤘🎹🎸🎤🥁🐺

great band...unique blend of old school metal with a modern sound...and exceptional songwriting...they never disappoint
This is personally my all-time favorite song by any band. And of course, it's performed by my all-time favorite band. Not only do they care for and work hard at their craft, but they all look genuinely happy to be doing it for us, their fans. A breath of fresh air for sure. The talent is undeniable, and can measure up to ANY band, ever.
This song has a solid Symphony-X vibe. It amazes me how many people who go totally nuts for Lovebites, completely ignore Symphony-X. Yeah, I know... Symphony-X is not a band of hot Japanese chicks... so there is that difference. 😉

@TheCyberMantis I know Symphony-X very well. I like them, but as the case with pretty much every band in comparison to Lovebites for me personally, they just don't have a catalog as complete for me as Lovebites does, meaning liking pretty much everything they do. Even the almighty Zeppelin, my first favorite band 50+ years ago, doesn't have as many songs at my high level as Lovebites does.
@TheCyberMantis Symphony X is an amazing band and Michael Romeo is a God tier guitarist. You are right, they don't always seem to get the props they deserve.
@@mmcpa I don't like all Symphony-X songs either. They have some mediocre songs. There are a few Lovebites songs I don't really care for as well. One important point to note: Lovebites has cranked-out way more material in a relatively short amount of time compared to Symphony-X. Romeo does most of the song writing, and it takes him about 4 years to do a new album. Look what Lovebites has already done. Granted, Lovebites has a powerful team behind them. Romeo was doing everything all by himself. I think Romeo and Miyako are a lot alike in many ways, which makes me very happy.
Lovebites re-invigorated my love for metal. For the longest time I was saddened because none of the new metal bands in the past 20 years or so were enjoyable to me. There were good bands and good songs, but nothing that got me super excited. The day I discovered Lovebites my whole world changed and I was back to enjoying great music - all from Lovebites. There is no other band out there today that gets me excited the way Lovebites does. That have it all. Eagerly awaiting a world tour and a trip to USA from them.
I think Edu needs to team-up with Lovebites and do a world tour!

Holy crap is it me or does this live version sound faster and heavier than the MV? Fami's bass work on this live is insanely good. Of course M&M on guitars killing it. But Haruna and Fami, OMFG. And Asami damm.
You are spot on with your comments about putting in the commitment. I never had that fortitude, and have only myself to blame. All of these women have been working on their musical and artistic gifts since they were little children. They deserve all the accolades we can give them. Thank you for featuring them again!
I just never had the free time to practice much. I was always too busy working and doing other stuff. Being great at an instrument requires way too much time. Respect to those who can do it.

Lovebites is a joy for me too. I have waited every premiere by them few years now. They have delivered that same joy for us from their live listenthrough albums and live bluray premieres and they participate on those chats as well. I love this band and these hardworking women.

Thank you for your enthusiasm. To hear a seasoned musician tell me that my non musical ears hear exactly the same thing as you, (I just don’t understand how to play any kind of instrument) means that when I sing the praises of this band to anyone and everyone, I am on solid ground. There isn’t another band making rock music (of any description) that is within touching distance of these women. And as Jonathan Parker has said, they do it with broad smiles, boundless enthusiasm and a genuine affection for those of us who support them. They’re a once in a lifetime privilege.
Yes, we all love Lovebites. Probably too much. Yes, they are phenomenal musicians and performers. But they are not the only band operating on this level. In Japan there is Galneryus. Those dudes are wizards. In Brazil, Edu put a team of heavy-hitters together, and he's gunning for the power-metal crown against his old band Angra! Are you honestly going to tell me these dudes can't hang with Lovebites? Fun fact: Haruna wanted to take drum lessons from the drummer of THIS band: th-cam.com/video/JVnGajp62O8/w-d-xo.html
@@TheCyberMantis It is the overall “package” which allows me to call them the best. It’s not just the music, it’s about everything that makes them Lovebites. Boundless enthusiasm, broad smiles, care, concern and genuine affection for the fans. Watch Asami during “Nameless Warrior”. Pure joy written across her face. Running across the stage. Saluting people in the crowd so far away that she cannot possibly make them out. The best. Stop arguing.🙂

I will stand firm and put Unlucky Morpheus right up against Lovebites. Different genres, but I find their live performances more entertaining than Lovebites, probably better than the studio recordings, in addition they have the branch off of Quadratum, the drummer is a complete match for Haruna (and I believe even faster on the double kicks), and all are virtuosos. Fuki is a vocal legend in Japan, Jill is classically trained, the guitarists can play harmony leads, and though you may not listen to them (I would say that is a loss), they could follow Lovebites in concert and be absolutely great. Fuki designs and makes many of their costumes, and Jill has melt away eyes. Remember they began doing anime themes and only lately broke into their own compositions.
lovebites doing lovebites things. they all are so awesome. a little recommendation for you: east of eden - evolve (ext. Version). a japanese female supergroup with their first song, just three weeks old. and coming from a diehard lovebites fan: almost as good as lovebites.

This is probably the only song from them that I prefer the studio version and easily one of the greatest metal songs ever written.
Title track ,and first single, from the newest album released earlier this year. Only the 3rd video released on TH-cam so far from this concert, but the DVD was released for sale Aug 23. You may have had to worry about overshadowing your bandmates, but fortunately Miyako and Midori don't. Haruna, Fami, and Asami are just as good.🤘🤘
Have you watched anything from Miyako's own channel? She released a video about a week and a half ago showing her purchasing a Gibson Korina Flying V.
This is one of the very few bands that plays LIVE as well as or even better (IMHO) than any music video or studio recording. The music video of this was amazing and there were a few new fans who thought they couldn't do this one LIVE.....LMAO. For us who have been around this band since 2017, NOTHING and I mean NOTHING can't be done LIVE by these insanely talented musicians. Wait...there is ONE thing they are and never will be capable of.....writing, composing, arranging and playing a BAD song, never happen as they drive one another for perfection and are relentless in that pursuit. Great reaction and your facial expressions were priceless and you stay in your chair!!! LOL Love the channel and your take and reviews of the bands!

I heard rumors, they dropped some beats somewhere. I do not know where except those parts where you can have four guitars in studio but live you have quick trade offs, like you have usually with this band. I am thinking to buy a new guitar and sign up to the gym. I do not see any reasons not to do. I have a very time consuming job, but it is getting better. It is so inspiering

Not only do they practice hard to get to where there at on a technical level as individual players, but they also practice hard together, especially miyako and midori, to do the things they do at the speeds they go at.
You bet. They must have a tons of unseeable practices, and millions of arrangements polishing back and forth to present us this miracle level playing. Besides money matter, this is what we would like listen to and see in the concerts.Thank you for your great reaction.
The sound of this video was weird for me, especially Asamis voice was way too low. I guess its maybe the old problem where the front and back channels are switched and if you only use stereo and not quattro, you have that problem. This is however not a general problem with this Lovebites video, since i already saw like 10+ reactions to it, and they all were ok. So not like the problem with older videos, like "Holy Wars" where Midoris guitar was longtime to low, but that was on nearly all videos.
For some crazy-ass guitar solo trade-offs, give Scream for Me (live version) a listen. It's a freaking guitar clinic.

I love the ladies and the performance, but I can't shake this feeling that the mix is off. In the intro and the outro, the bass is being crushed by the chugging guitar. Asami sounds like she's echoing a bit, too, though that' probably not the best way to say it. It's quite a contrast to their previous live releases and not exactly a welcome one. That said, thanks for returning to LOVEBITES. I can't wait until you get to "Spellbound."
Your sound quality and mix levels are sadly lacking from what I hear in other versions of this song so you need to work on it a bit.
I'd say it's time to start on the E Trilogy (Epilogue, Empty Daydream, Edge of the World). For something out of left field, Spellbound. And if you want to sample a MV, When Destinies Align or Winds of Transylvania. Oh, and not to forget, another great reaction to the band that brought me back to music (that isn't 40-60 years old).
