Do catch the massive number of video clips of Aled here on TH-cam...he's brilliant. Yes, he is truly amazing, with an incredible lyric baritone voice now. He's still as wonderful and unaffected by his fame as he was as a boy too. The first time I heard Aled's baritone voice almost six years ago, I wept tears of joy...he's as stunning now as he was as a treble.
The guy presenting is Gardener turned presenter Alan Titchmarsh. Peter Auty first sang Walking in the Air for the movie The Snowman, Aled made it famous in an advert for Toys R Us and took it into the top ten of the charts..
I like this version FAR better than Josh Groban's. You can hear the choir training, how Aled floats the higher notes and it sounds effortless, whereas Josh has trained to sing ballads, and he belts the higher notes. I do like Josh's version, but not as much as Aled's! I also think he looks very handsome now, but as I live in Canada/USA, I didn't grow up with him on my tv screen. My loss!
It's only people like Aled Jones and his devotion to peoples happiness and a pure life that make the entire population bearable. Llisten to some Aled on here people, Deep Peace, Marble Halls, that kind of thing. Dont miss them, they are free on here x
Other than having titchmarsh spoiling the start with his false niceness that performance is outstanding. Go Aled. That is one of the best vocals you will here on the internet.
@stad97 I am very sure. I live in a border town that had major TV channels from both sides of the Canada/USA border. I grew up in Port Huron, Michigan, USA, and now live in Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, which are literally right next to each other. The TV stations that I get are from Toronto Ontario, London Ontario, and Detroit Michigan. I'm an hour drive north of Detroit and an hour drive west of London.
Libera are based at St Philip's Church, Norbury, London, where the boys are part of the church choir, but they only become Libera in their own right when they are out on tour or are producing their own albums, please dont expect to find the "Libera" experience at Norbury. @1993Michigander: sometimes it's not like you have a choice. Sometimes they MAKE you lipsync for various reasons. But when he sings it live, it does sound the same.
Would love to see aled sing the carpenters.. some kinda special ..hes the voice for the job .. might have a word with rich .. and see ...oh and of course alid ...😁pip pips and carryon

It was Joe Platt of Libera fame who was singing the treble part, sadly Joe is no longer a treble.
I love this, have always loved Aled Jone's voice.....but did no-one else think he was lip-syncing?
Of course he was - he didnt look like he was even breathing, and where were all the other singers - on the tape.

No afraid not, Joe's voice broke a while ago, and as far as I know, he left the choir altogether.
