Good review. I've always made the claim that the cheap mass produced lights are virtually indistinguishable, so I usually consider cost, carb and calorie count, and price. And then buy Natural Light.
I just wanted to say I appreciate you mentioning the opinion as fact thing. I conduct Craft Beer Tours and the most tiresome part of it for me is the railing against any of the big beers. The fact that someone has every right to prefer an IPA is one thing but opinions are like pint glasses, everyone has them.
***** Ronald Theriot summed it up so well about people confusing their opinion with fact. One can not read online about the big beer without sports team or political level name calling and bias. Plus the options are so self serving. Guinness is the product of globalization but that is ok, domestic beer is horrible for it! I say there is room for all and a man should not obsess on another's drink of choice.
Oh wow, 0/3!? Totally agree they are all so similar. Love the shirt and hat, heading to the Cards game today and stopping by the AB brewery on the way for a tour. Love these taste test challenges, keep them coming!
I just saw your review on naturdays lol....actually just seen both of yours.....I play semi pro football and we had a hard game today....one or two naturdays should take the edge off.
Realizing these are older videos, I really like the format. Have you compared Miller Lite with Milwaukee's Best Light? Or, Coor's Light with Keystone Light?
+Terrence LaBroix Well, I have not done all of that, but I think I pretty much exhausted the comparison or challenge videos. But, perhaps they could return.
I agree with you again and again on the beer snobs. They are just opinionated, pompously opinionated to the max. I personally think overly hopped beers taste like shit. But, I won't deny an IPA is a well crafted beer. I am enjoying the taste test videos, keep 'em coming!
I believe that IPAs are a cop-out, in a way. Any droog can over-hop an ale that is out of balance and call it a new IPA. Which, I theorize, is the reason you see so many IPAs on the craft beer shelves in stores. Ronald, do you have a souvenir can of Falstaff India Pale Ale? Can you show it sometime? I remember those fondly!
oooooooooooooooh! tough challenge! nice job, keep your chin up, ron! those three are very similar! fwiw, my ranking of favorabilty would be, bud light, NL, then busch light, but...i really prefer the miller's line of light beers! cheers!
Love your reviews. I love beer and for years have been stressing this point expecially with the anheiser bush beers. They are so similar. Save your 5 bucks and go with Natty light. I know I do. Don't get me wrong I love dark and stout and craft beer as well
Freddie B Thanks a lot for watching, Freddie B! Well, of course, you know, we're not supposed to enjoy Anheuser-Busch beers. We could get into lots of trouble with the Beer Police and the "Beer Drinking Community".
This was a great video Jay! Craft beers are becoming outrageously expensive this day and age, along with everything else of course. So something has to give right? I`m a die hard Samuel Adams Boston Lager fan, unfortunately, I have to switch to a budget beer if you will. This review of yours was very helpful in helping make an informed decision. I`m looking for a light beer with less calories. From a price point, it sure seems as though Natural light would be the way to go. Reading through the comments, it seems as though Natural light is a crowd pleaser, so I`m going to try that this weekend. Craft beers are going to have to take a back seat for a long while, and I'm sure for other beer enthusiasts as well. Cheers from North Carolina!
@@ronaldtheriot ... ... Thought I would get back with you Jay, as I`m trying Natural Light for the 1st time this evening. 1st and foremost, I`m a craft beer drinker, and a die hard Samuel Adams Boston Lager Fan, as I mentioned before. I Even bought the Sam Adams sensory glass, which is awesome by the way!! Times are so hard for everyone right now, and craft beer prices have gone through the ceiling to say the least!! I can get a suitcase of a 24 pack, for the same price of a craft beer 12 pack! That being said, you make cut backs and adjustments where needed, even with beer lol. Now for my review on Natural light. I poured it into a nonic pint glass. Nice head, that dissipated within half a minute. No lacing on my glass at all. On the nose, smelled sweet grain, and malt. The taste truly surprised me. I was expecting the same ole same ole watery bland taste of the majority of light beers. Not with Natural Light. I found the taste to have sweet malt, and grains up front with corn, followed by a very pleasant lemon zest citrus flavor in the finish. I did not find it thin and watery as expected. The mouth feel was just right. The aftertaste lingers, but so does the majority of beers across the spectrum. Overall, I am very satisfied with Natural Light. Flavor, price point, and truly feel this has a lot more flavor then other light beers I`ve tried for sure. To heck with the beer snobs that give this beer a zero, and laugh at beer drinkers that do not live and die by the almighty IPA. I can feel the beer police coming after me now lol. Cheers!!
Go birds just found this channel and subbed going to look for new videos now. With long-standing products like beer a review being 7 years old doesn’t affect its quality.
Jay, you might try some water and a saltine cracker between each beer. I have friends that are beer judges at competitions. That is the method they use to cleanse their palate. (This is not to discount that light beers are barely discernible, but you might have a bit more luck with some sort of palate cleanse). An enjoyable series, I hope you keep doing these taste comparisons.
It might make a difference, BC, but I have to tell you, I drank the rest of it, over the next few hours, and they all pretty much tasted the same. It's sort of like Ford-Chevrolet-Dodge. Just buy which one looks the nicest, because, otherwise, they're pretty much the same.
Hey Ron! Happy 4th! I tried this - part of this, yesterday in my backyard. I did BudLight and Natrual Light. Couldn't tell them apart. Niether could my buddy. So, later I'm having friends over and serving Natural. Natural is seriously just as good as Bud Light and way cheaper here in Boston. I haven't tried Busch Light in a while, as I've only bought the regular Busch, which I really love...but, I'll try it again. So, Natural Light is really going to be my Light beer of choice, as you really can't beat $4.95 a six pack.
Thanks so much for watching, Chris George! Well, I am not a Cardinals fan, but I have been to about 12-15 games in St. Louis since 2002. I just like to wear different major league shirts.
Its a great ballpark! the old and the new. I've noticed that in your past videos. You also sometimes seem wear the ball teams shirt form the state of the beer your reviewing. cool concept!!!
Ron, the AB/InBev quality control is amazing. I'll have to try Milwaukee's Best Light and Miller High Life Light and Lite Beer from Miller to see if I can't tell as well!
Not for a ghetto taste test lol. You are proving this whole test right. If the taste is so close you need salted peanuts to cleanse your pallet, then those Mfers are about the same. Cheers Joe.
I have an idea that you might consider to make your taste challenges easier. A Lazy-Susan would make it very simple to spin and not know which beer is which. Also, it would allow you to attempt four, or even five beer taste challenges. Just a thought.
Cool that you post these video's even though.....do a high grade lager, a mid grade lager and a bottom of the barrel lager. That way there will be a little bit more of a difference between them. CHEERS!!!

Yes, and I never drink enough, in one day, to influence that!

Try throwing in a 4th option going for the Big 3: Bud, Coors, Miller and add in an alternate, could would widen your chance of failure...
I think I'd better keep it at three, Mattsashl09.
Ronnie where are those roasted & salted peanuts to cleanse & spike the taste buds? Gotta do that or its virtually null & void!
Ha-ha. Well, that could be true, abc.
Not for a ghetto taste test lol. You are proving this whole test right. If the taste is so close you need salted peanuts to cleanse your pallet, then those Mfers are about the same. Cheers Joe.
It's funny you can still tell which one is Busch even after you mix it up because it's so light
It's so true, Simon.
I don't believe I could tell the 3 apart in a blind taste test...
It's really hard for me to do.
"It is what it is"
Lol
I didn't know what to say, QC.
I think you need to do a vertical with different breweries next
Maybe. I've got some ideas running around in my head.
Anytime..maybe you could substitute another ice beer and do the challenge if you have the time?
Christian Robitzsch I might do that, CR, but I think I've pretty much worn out the "challenge thing", do you think?
I don't think so..either way, keep up the cool reviews!
Natty light for me but need to try busch light , havent yet

Well, it might be oriented towards that style.
I’m suspicious of bush but natty light and bud light is great light beer
Oh, I enjoy the Busch beers, myself.
For light beer, I need a heavier flavor/body. Bud Light is not my favorite.

It's OK.
That’s actually a very tough challenge

So bud light is 👑 because of the name
I guess so. Thanks for watching, Daniel Crowell. I appreciate it!

Sorry. I know how to pour beer. Thanks for watching (a little bit).
Ronald Theriot but why pour that way and not at an angle to keep the fizz? I just poured a Natty light your way and it wasn't nearly as refreshing

busch light is nasty, bud light is way better.
