Amazing. I’ve been printing toys and gadgets for 3 years and this is the coolest design I’ve come across. Genius with the disc spin. I originally loaded the discs with the cutout facing upward and thought it was great, then I flipped them over and what a difference these things sail like frisbees across the room. Thank you so much for sharing your design sir.
Your videos are such good quality. I don't know why you don't have over a million subscribers. The designs are very cool, and your explanations are very easy to understand.
Made 7 so far. Thanks for a great design. Shoots perfect. I made a 150 percent one shoots good too, Made a 200 percent one and doesn't shoot as good. Little ones shoot the best. Thanks
I just put the model in the printer and I'm excited to see how it performs. I'm also thinking about creating a disc shooter and why not learn from the best! Great solution for the rotation of the disc, I'm impressed. Thank you for your work!
I love how you explained the design and how you were able to overcome the problem. I actually learned something! Also, you have a good voice for this and the video editing was great. I am guessing you have made videos before. Cool print.
I've made 3 for my cousins, they love them! I surprised the two of them with them, but only one was home. When the other got home, my uncle got ahold of it and him and my other cousins attacked him and the door. Instant fun for the family.
this is an incredible design!!!! classic german toy quality here. i'm printing a few for my family ASAP. you could have gone to market with this toy design lol. i think it could even be done with a felxture instead of a rubber band too
Richtig cooles Projekt! Habe es heute selbst gedruckt und es hat alles auf Anhieb super funktioniert. Das man nur ein Gummiband und ein paar 3D-gedruckte Teile braucht ist echt genial, danke!
You did a great job with the design and this tutorial. You are very skilled. I assume you ised fusion 360 to model the shooter. I'm most impressed with the way you modeled the frame. It is a few levels above the skill level Im currently at. Is there a tutorial you could recommend or step files where i can see the process ? Thanks.
Printed mine and it's really fun! I'm just having issues with the shooter itself being so small it's hard to grip comfortably, the trigger only fits 1 finger so it kinda hurts because how much force you need to press it, and also the disks' bottom layer is like only 1 layer wide they're quite frail. Other than that I love it!
Mentioned this on the makerworld page, but this is genius, and so much fun. Perfect first print for my nephew who just got an A1 mini. Only thing, even for my small hands, the handle is a little small, cocking mechanism hits my hand. Any way to make the handle a little longer so you can grip it lower?
What a cool model. I'm really interested in the cross section model, would love to print it and show my little nephew how this disc shooter works. Great design!
I've uploaded a modified sectional model of the disc shooter for you. This version is adjusted to work in the normal shooting position, unlike the original which was rotated 90° during filming to prevent the discs from falling out. Feel free to print it and have a great time showing it to your nephew!
Great model! Kind of new to the world of 3D printing, so excuse my question, but what filament type should I use for the spring? I'm assuming the rest of the model can be printed in PLA, but if I'm wrong there, please correct me.
Hi, sorry to hear. Unfortunately, PLA ages quickly and becomes brittle. I use new PLA from Bambulab and have had no issues so far. PLA-CF or PETG also work well.
@@uhltimate just printed a second one with 2% more flowrate and it works fine, it just seems that my slicer leaves little gaps between print lines and it just comes apart when printed normally
like many I'm a novice at this 3D printing, but i follow instructions very well, however, i can not find a "loop" setting in cura for printing the spring component.
Hi, Since PLA ages quickly and becomes brittle, one should use new material. Then, in the slicer, set 'wall loop' to more than 6 to avoid creating an infill pattern. I hope this solves the problem.
Hi, the frame is laying on the rear side of the grip. I have provided an image on the pages where you can download the files, showing the print orientation.
So i printed everything and the spring and trigger doesnt smoothly fit together and the frame is so warped that i cant put anything thru it. wtf. I printed the frame and everything exactly how the picture said.
If there is no disc inserted and the trigger operates smoothly, you can either use a weaker spring (for the kids' model on Makerworld) or lubricate the trigger's guides slightly.
@@uhltimate I cut off a bit of the top of the trigger (behind where the spring is) and it seems to fix it I’ll still try out the kids version when I find it
The way you made the Disc spin is ingenious
WOW, this is a BRILLIANT design. You have INCREDIBLE skills. Thanks for designing and sharing. PLEASE keep it up!!!
This thing is incredible! Printed no issues, no supports. Works and fits together like a dream. Could not believe how well this thing shot.
What orientation did you print the body of the shooter?
@@TheSlowmo123 I printed it upside down
The mechanical intuition in this small shooter is immense. Very cool!
looks great, will print two for my kids as soon as I am back near my printer :)
Dude this is 180 IQ stuff. Awesome design!

I printed one for kid, she likes it. but I do like it more! so I'm now printing another one. :)
Thanks very nice design & works perfectly.. Please make a bigger version.

Works great I love it. First print, everything falls smooth together! And the discs fly quite good 👍

This system is so clever !!!
Very clever. subscribed.
wery cool!
Little finicky but after some fine tuning I think it should work well, also for me it shoots a bit to the left

a 3d printer is basically just a toy to make more toys us adults wanted for "free"
Great model!
Kind of new to the world of 3D printing, so excuse my question, but what filament type should I use for the spring? I'm assuming the rest of the model can be printed in PLA, but if I'm wrong there, please correct me.
For simplicity, I use PLA for every component and it works great. But you are right that this is not ideal. ABS might work better as a spring.
@@uhltimateThanks!
What type of filament did you use for the spring? I printed one from PLA because it's the only type i have and it just broke lmao

Am I the only one who thinks about Unreal Tournament? :D
Should I do 100% infill for the spring?
What material are you using for the springs? Petg?
I would recommend PETG, i always printed mine in PLA and they snap after a while.
I use PLA, because it is stronger. PETG would last longer, but it's just not as strong.
Its great i just printed one and it works, but the disc breaks with me i dont know why maybe somthing wrong in the slicer settings
Sorry i meant the spring

should i print the frame laying flat or vertically
Hi, the frame is laying on the rear side of the grip. I have provided an image on the pages where you can download the files, showing the print orientation.
@@uhltimate i get a couple warnings when i slice it in what i think is pretty similar to the picture u provided. Is this normal?

Hello, sorry to hear that. I design and print my models with a Bambulab printer, and I haven't experienced any of these issues here.
what rubber band?
I'd also know if anyone has found the ideal rubber band, I've tried several and get inconsistent results, thanks!
hello! i just used the basic branded rubber band. i used the smallest one possible@@DDKnight1000

Hi, No support is needed, and I've provided a picture showing the recommended orientation for the frame on printables.
Looks like a mini Nerf gun that can shoot discs.
Why is it so fucking hard to shoot
