SOUTH AFRICA: SINGER TINA TURNER ARRIVES AHEAD OF HER WORLD TOUR

Superstar singer Tina Turner has arrived in South Africa for three weeks of rehearsals ahead of her new "Wildest Dreams" world tour.
The veteran singer promised fans around the world a good time in true Tina Turner style.
At 56, the show is still going on for legend entertainer Tina Turner.
Last month she received France's most prestigious arts honor when she was made a Chevalier of Arts and Letters.
The medal is only awarded to artists who are considered to have made notable contributions towards popular culture in France.
Arriving in South Africa, Turner said her dream had always been to fill stadiums like the supergroup Rolling Stones.
And following the world success of the latest Bond film theme song `Golden Eye', she decided to hit the road again.

"The song (Golden eye) was a hit. Actually it became a very enormous hit and I have done the album. And while I was choosing the songs I started to dance about and have a good time and I was thinking: `Oh, this will be great on stage - STAGE.' And I thought:
`Oh God I'm back already.' But something came with it. The songs are exciting, they are fun. It is really good to see the guys. I think we were all just kind of ready to join again and have a really good time. So I don't regret it at all."

The tour moves to the United Kingdom in June and from there to Europe until Christmas.
Turner will rehearse for her show with musicians and dancers during the next three weeks in South Africa.
She played in Johannesburg to a mixed-race audience in 1980 and admitted landing in political hot water for breaching the cultural boycott artists imposed on South Africa during the apartheid years.
But Turner had no regrets about performing in South Africa and chose it as a starting point and rehearsal spot following good reports from fellow artists who had toured the country.
Her world tour kicks off in Cape Town on April 20.
