This is soo so helpful! Wish I knew this 2 years ago (almost the same time when you record this video) when developing a logo which required me to use this effects!
Great video - thx for taking the time to walk through this. One quick question - it is possible to have a fill for one of the objects? For example, at 5:14 of the video when you mouse over the most inner object the world PIXEL is filled with blue. Would love to have a design that has one of the objects with a fill while the others are strokes. Thx so much!
you can always use a fill as your initial color, that will create a solid interior like when it's highlighted. however, if you want random fills followed by strokes, I would think about it less as a fill and more as a thick stroke. Up your stroke weight and, if needed, the amount of the offset to create sections that appear thicker like fills.
What if I already have an expanded shape. In this case, text as well. I created some distance between layers by accident, and can't recreate the effect-- MID-PROJECT! :D
Hi, I have Adobe Illustrator CC2015, I followed your steps at the beginning but I can't manage to duplicate the stroke (the eye seems locked as if i was inselected…)
Hi! (I guess) I had the same thing over and over again... until I noticed that I made the mistake at the important point mentioned at min.1:30.... when you give your text no stroke and then give a stroke again with the "add new stroke" option down there on the left side at the appearance panel... Maybe this helps? Good luck and greetings!

WELL DONE THANKS. Caps lock on nearly caught me out, so many tutorials overlook things like this.
Excellent tutorial. I could come to know many options available in Illustrator CC and the resulting text is editable, it's a bonus. Thanks.

Thanks for watching and commenting, I really appreciate it!
Is it possible to outline the offset paths to then edit them individually effectively as objects? Thanks
For sure just expand it all first and then you can edit them individually
You are amazing

After expanding n ungrouping.. is it still editable??
Once you expand, it’s no longer editable. So leave it unexpanded until you’re sure of the wording. Any time you outline or expand text this is true
@@pixelandbracket finally.. thanks for clearing that. Appreciate it 👍😇
Hello sir when outline created than how to edit or rewrite those text in which i created outline?
