Lot of people making a joke of 11 staff for 27 sheep… the caretaker clearly mentioned that there were around 292 sheep’s when he joined the service and 9 caretaker’s the remaining bahar te(out of poilwa)but unfortunately went down to 27 due to weather and export…just because the no. Of sheep went down doesn’t mean the staff will be kick out of service .. sob khuta te Damalik kuri bolle kam nai ho they might be barely managing their family with their salary and salary bi time te pai na napai bi sure nai on top of that the corrupted officials like to stay at their home in town/ city

This sheep farm was proposed and made by my uncle and his frnd in 1977 🥹🏵️and it seems , till date it is renovated only once .. just once😮😮😮......point is it is well built with proper planning 🎉🎉...........poilwa is a very beautiful village ,full of greens, amazing scenario + the chill cool breeze air ❤❤❤one of the best among God's creation.....,.....blessed to have this kinda place in our land Nagaland ❤❤...Thnks for the coverage Hornbill TV ❤

The only sheep farm under the Government of Nagaland set up in the 1970s and now has only 27 sheep managed by 11 staff which include Doctor and care takers is a shameful story to the world. I think the village and Government has to come up with something serious to improve and increase the number of sheep when it has so much scope even in the tourism sector too with the beauty of the place attached to it. I have been there 5 years back and at that time there were 13 sheep.

Anyone knows..1984..there was one sheep farm between Heninkunglwa and Pelekie village Peren.. govt quarters were there.. It's a forgotten subject now...

This SHEEP FARM in Poilwa being manned by 11 Government appointed staff including a Vet and Inspector taking care of 27 sheep (Sip) as per your report is yet another typical Nagaland story. Hope the staff will not outnumber the sheep like Govt schools in some villages where teachers were said to be more than students. This is yet another unusual case where the sole purpose of many government establishments or projects is to give employment to a few persons regardless of the outcomes costing the government lakhs and crores of rupees annually.
On the sideline when a namesake Sheep Farm is benefiting the villagers due to the thousands of visitors, I wish the government take this project seriously, refocus and take it to another level of great success. To me, the concerned department has a great opportunity to make a big name here.

Better encourage private farmers, wasting of govt money. With the staff set up, at least 1000-5000 sheep should be there, to cover up at least their pay and allowances
