    I like your command of the English language. Your vocabulary is expansive with correct usage of the words you chose to use. Bravo to British citizens such as yourself that care to speak with such precision. Not so much in America where I live.
    I see some edits throughout but hey you are trying to make the video flow without the familiar rambling I hear from other TH-camrs. The video is great too! I own the Focal Bathys too and couldn't agree more on the way you articulated the sound you will hear wearing them. The lit Focal logo is kinda blingy but I like it. Fortunately they have an option to turn it off for those that didn't like it. It's a competitive boost for Focal for folks that like it. Again great video.

    Love this review, but I went with the PX8. I agonized over which to buy, I watched and read every review of the PX8, Bathys, and 5909 I could get my hands on. Sound quality was my number one criteria and, not being an audiofile, I felt the PX8 suited my listening preferences the best. The Focals were a close second.

      Going through the same dilemma. Heard mixed opinions about PX8 vs Bathys sound quality.

      For the price of the Focal Bathys you can get the moondrop blessings 2 + the sony wh1000XM4, the blessings will not die because their battery died, and the XM4 are easy as fuck to repair by yourself, the focal's price seems too much to me for wireless headphones... but again most people would say the same for the xm4 and mb2

      Yeah me too, having a try on Px8, bathys, 5909 and even H95, I ended up with px8. Mainly because of the looks, price ( cheapest compre to the others) and best ANC. Bathys though has the best sound among all of them. However for the premium price, they look cheap and worst part on the head they look worst than princess Lea hair after using Dyson hair dryer. Also the px8 has an advantage when plug usb to your phone, it can play while also charging the headphone simultaneously. You cant do the same with Bathys. Also despite sounding worst out of the box, once you EQ the PX8, put at least -2.5db for the bass with anc on, it sound much better. Personally I think these so called luxury brand need to up their ante on their design dept. Considering this is a bluetooth headphones which are meant for portability, so looks and comfort also important.

    T+A Solitaire t are significantly more expensive but supposed to be a little better.
    The only things negative I'd say about my Bathys are that you can't turn ANC off. So there is always a little bit of white noise (in quite parts noticable). Also you can't fire they passively.

    • @AudioFixation
      @AudioFixation  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea I’ve made those points about the ANC. Would have been great to turn it off!

    Hi a few months ago I decided I wanted a pair of Focal closed back headphones. After a bit of research & searching I purchased a mint second hand pair of Elegia's & I love them. But about two weeks later the Bathys were announced. If only I had known I would have gone for them as my Sony WH1000 XM2's are starting to have charging problems. Anyway I reckon early next year the Bathys will be on their way to me. Cheers.... 👍

    I have owned the Focal for a few months now. Recently I tested the B&W Px8, from the design I would like the Px8 a lot better. But sonically, the Focal are worlds better than the B&W. More details, wider stage, more depth and after a few hours of play-in time, the Focal also have a wonderful, deep bass.

    Great review, mirrors my experience with my Bathys. I have inner ear problems at the moment and can't wear my Shure SE846's so needed something gentle on the ears and audiophile to pair with my A&K SE100 DAP. The Bathys is a lifesaver in that respect and more in line with the presentation of my home system.
    Personally, I don't mind the LED's. I guess if someone isn't in the know about Focal then I'm not bothered what they think and if they are, then I'm making a definite statement that I not only take my music seriously but also how I listen to it. 😁 Although I will say not enough to have them on the max LED setting!

    Thanks for the reviews, just to add..personally I am disappointed all these luxury brand skip LDAC, at this price range they should support all the codecs available. For example all Samsung phones users, you will be in tough luck. You will be stuck with the old classic aptx, no HD or adaptive. Believe me you dont need audiophile ears to tell the difference in sound quality just by going to 24 bits. It would have been great with the LDAC.

  • @1derment
    @1derment ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great review. How would these high end wireless headphones compare to mid price £500 passive headphones such as Hifiman Edition xs, Sivga sv023, etc together with a BT dongle such as BTR5, Ifi Go Blu or Qudelix 5k? Would be about the same cost but would sound quality be much better?

    • @AudioFixation
      @AudioFixation  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's a great question - the £500 passive headphones would absolutely destroy the bluetooth options for now. However, they do need good amplification to get the best out of them. Also remember that most of these higher end headphones that you mention are OPEN backed, so not suitable for listening on the go. What you are paying for with bluetooth cans is convenience and pretty good sound quality.

    • @1derment
      @1derment ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AudioFixation Yes it's really a different use case scenario, not for out and about but more for convenience around the house/garden, hence not requiring a bulky dac/amp. So not too bothered about it being open, just best audiophile quality for around £600. Thanks.

      I tried the Momentum 4s and liked the sound ok but since I don’t like touch controls I found those frustrating and switching connections across devices was really problematic with their app. And the on-off control was overly twitchy. Great battery life though for sure.

    Why do I keep hearing people being self conscious about wearing headphones in public? It's nonsense. Sometimes I wear my grado hemps outside, sometimes I wear my focal elegias outside, sometimes I wear my sony mdr z7s out and about. I just like headphones, and i don't care how anyone thinks how they look. If you like it, wear them, If you don't like them, then don't buy them. No need for people to be so worried about what Karen or Johnny thinks about their massive headphones.
