Nice to know not much has changed with the Kit Fox even a year after I stopped playing. Still amazes me that there are so many different ways of building the Kit Fox that somehow work. Personally I enjoyed running 3 ER M, the extra range helped with keeping out of the thick of things along with sniping UAVs. I didn't run with jump jets for extra ammo/heatsinks, and ran 1 laser AMS with 2 normal AMS. Usually would only overheat if I wasn't paying attention to the AMS going off while firing the lasers at the same time. It was a much more passive build than shown here, but was also during a time where it was very common to come across several LRM boats at a time with no secondary. Maps like Polar it was easy to burn though 8800 ammo, having just the 1 Laser AMS made the ammo last longer as well as still have some effectiveness even after running dry.
@@ZeroNumerous So they fixed the bug or heat scale for X3 laser AMS? it used to be you couldn't run them without killing yourself, regardless of your build.
For the longest time I was dismissive of the Kit Fox, after not liking them at all in MW2 and MW4. But after playing it in MWO, it's become one of my favorite support mechs. Might not do huge damage, but it's always a great battle buddy
Clan 30 tonners operating with the effectiveness of IS Heavies! Damn 3049 was a good year! ECM and coupled with a slow speed for a light is a great combo!
Nice. I usually put more of my points into the sensors and survival trees when running the Purifier, but that's just because I prefer ranging a little ahead at times to spot stuff to pull fire support, or show with UAV's or artillery strike on on easier. A little extra radar dep and armor can be a life saver there. Gonna have to try it with the 7ER small combination, too. I usually go 5 small pulses.
Love the vids , Bara, but I am always amazed by how quickly you do the opposite of what you say. that second video... "I need a battle buddy".... tries to get in the enemy's backs. "I don't want to be here".. goes deeper. haha!!
I love the purifier so much. First mech I maxed out along with the pirates bane. I ran it with a heavy large. MGs, and small pulse. I liked poking at range, and the heavy large does surprising damage on its own.
Interesting build. Never thought to run er smalls and hmg's on this. I use a large pulse and some er meds. It's hot but you don't have to get so close. 3 ams is great when the missiles are heavy and your assault will love you for it while the enemy will despise you :D Thank you for the videos Bara :D
Hey Bara, just a thought. You always put vids where you do well (or exceptionally so in some cases) in 2 matches, which is fine. Everybody knows that to get 2 good matches means that you have half a dozen or so bad matches. Here's an idea. As well as the good ones, how about a series about how you didn't do so well.? You could include commentary on what went wrong - you personally and the team as a whole. Let watchers learn by mistakes etc. Just a thought.
I load mine up with ammo, having once burned through 10K rounds in one match. Missile shield is it's job so I am usually unconcerned with the DPS I do.
There were soooo many times where u should have alpha'ed. Almost everytime you did a snapshot and weren't able to engage for a while afterwards should have been an alpha. I would also agree to only getting 3 of the 5 coolrun nodes and investing in something else useful like double UAV and double arty. I like all the suggestions of ppl using at least 1 l-ams (maybe drop 1/2 tons of ams ammo?). The HMGs didn't seem very useful IMO. That mech doesn't survive very long when face tanking at close range with HMGs. Just my 2 cents, u can keep da change! Otherwise great vid Bara!
@@DoctorDinosaur no pc or laptop. Lol and no Xbox compatibility for the game. (Thank god its not on xbox too. These Xbox noobs would ruin it. Lol) have a good one. GG
Ok so 3 AMS Kit Fox and 4 AMS Corsair in Assault class, is there a good AMS Mech in Medium or Heavy class or is the weight better used for armor and weapons at those class brackets?
Heavies seem a to be a little lighter on AMS. There's a variant for the Catapult, the Black Knight, and the Thunderbolt that have two AMS. You could definitely do some viable builds with double AMS in those. Probably would just want a ton of ammo though. Maybe two at most.
Support Classes/Mechs can get kills, it usually depends on luck, positioning, Skill of the Support and the skill of the ones who fall victim to the Support Classer/Mech.

Kitfox is the proverbial 5 pound bag you can stuff 10 pounds of crap in. Amazingly versatile lil' bugger.

1:07 Magazine Capacity doesn't affect AMS-Ammo. YOu always have 2200 per ton no matter your skills.
this is true
@@patrickowens7924 Sad, but true =(
And this is why my version of this mech has at least 1 laser AMS, i have run one with 2 laser AMS.
I personally run 3 Laser AMS with KFX-S torsos and a KFX-C arm. 4 HMGs and 3 micro lasers remain very cold even in a high missile environment.

I find using radar derp on triple ams mechs is counterproductive, I WANT to get locked driving that ;) at least when they counter my ems

That endgame commentary was actually pretty exciting. Lol
I run my purifier with ECM, 3x AMS, TAG, NARC, & 4x Hvy Medium Lasers. Good for making C-Bills.

My favorite Clan mech. Two LRM 5s, an AC2, four SLasers.
I run my kitfox with 4 cspl and 4 srm6. Really deadly alpha strike!
I'm running a similar mech, but with ATMs instead of lasers. I'm having a lot of fun with that

funny you always say the kitfox is not a priority but I always prioritize them because they usually have ECM and/or lots of AMS
if they play correctly they have large battle buddies near them, and prioritizing Fox may be the last thing you do ;)
As a Kit Fox pilot I can agree. People will focus fire on it because they can be killed in 1 or 2 volleys, and aren't fast enough to run away.
Team cohesion and tactics and strategy aka murderball them
i miss the murderfox, the AMSs are just an excuse for being support. =D

For the mediums Nova can run up to 3 AMS as well. You can see one with near Baradul in the first match for a bit 5:00. He wound up with 491 damage.

I prefer a build with 6 ER-Medium Lasers. More damage and range.
That's my setup too. It's great for poking & disappearing, and you support your team no matter which of those you're doing
