- WARLEY MODEL RAILWAY SHOW 2023 - Announcements, special finds and purchases
Having missed the past two shows due to COVID, I was really looking forward to being there. Great show as always, I focus this time on new announcements, engineering/decorated samples, some layouts, special finds with a round up later with news and purchases. Enjoy!

Hi John - looks like you had an enjoyable show. Plenty of essentials brought back I see 😊
Yes I do enjoy Warley, sadly not so many youtubers this time. Did see Stephen, but really feel GETs has become the youtuber's show.
@@piccadillymodelrailwaysGlad you met Stephen at the show.
Thanks for an interesting video, I couldn't make it to Warley this year but you certainly conveyed a flavour of the exhibition. Some nice bargains, too :)
Thankyou, my focus was a bit different this show, slightly more on models yet to be launched. Glad you enjoyed it.
Hi John, nice little haul of stuff there, I’m particularly looking forward to seeing what you do with the tree kit. I remember watching Luke from Geek Gaming do some very good trees using the armatures and seafoam (don’t think he’s making video’s anymore).
Looks like you had a good trip, Warley is on my radar and it looked a little quieter than GETS! Cheers John, John
Thanks John, it was a good day, yes it’ll be good fun to experiment with the tree kit. So many trees still to make, as they are natural scenic breaks. Luke did stop making videos, think he said he was struggling for time. Catch you soon
I’m impressed!! 03:50!! And you have to get up at such an early hour to get to the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham?!!
Hi, not sure where you got 3.50am from, the train I caught was 7.10am. Best to be early. Longer time in the show.
Hi John! Looks like you had a good time at Warley! It didn't look quite as busy as GETS, so that's gotta be a relief! I've bought a couple of MMR's N gauge kits, and they seem to be very good, although I've yet to construct either of them! I wasn't expecting the Deluxe Materials water to have contracted that much, but at least you got to talk to them about it! Ah, the static grass applicator - I think that's the same one I purchased at GETS! Looks like a great little machine! Must use it to sprinkle some green onto Shelfington one day! Lol! All the best, Ian.
Hi Ian yes great day and it was much quieter than GETS, but twice the size. Glad I got the applicator, hopefully it’ll be good. Did you mention scenery Ian? On Shelvington? Be careful I’LL NEED A LIE DOWN LOL.
Hi John = Looks like you had a good time and it looked as if the layouts and stands were easier to get to than GETS ?
Cheers Kev
Good to finally meet John. I got one of the tree packs from Bachmann after we spoke so I’ll have fun playing with those to add to the statement trees I bought. Thought it was a great show this year. Much quieter on Sunday which gave me time to talk to more of the guys exhibiting. Stephen
Yes great to meet you also. This was much quieter this year than previous and I was there on Sunday. Transport is more complex on Sundays otherwise I have come then instead.
Hey John….. Sorry I couldn’t meet up with you this time around, I had other commitments this weekend. I’m glad you had more success finding trees this time than you did at GETS 🤣
Enjoyed the video, hope we can catch up at another show soon.
Steve… 👍👍
Yes that’ll be good Steve. Warley is a very different show to GETS, maybe one day.
Excellent John, the stands and your purchases were exactly what I wanted to see.
Lol, glad it meets with your aproval. What you like? Lol
As for my layout, I’m running all kinds of wartime Southern Railway locomotives and have a Dad’s Army layout, Walmington-on-Sea on which to run them. My largest locomotive is a Wainwright C Class locomotive with DCC Sound chip.
Nice
Great video of Warley John. You did very well with your purchases. Interesting that it was not as busy as GETS. Maybe a consideration for next year. Thanks for sharing. Roy.
Yes great time at Warley. They did widen the aisles but pound for pound GETS was busier.
If my 3d-modeling and tinkering skills were better I would try and convert a second hand standard 5 to a GT3 n-scale since KR Models aren't doing them; but then I still am in the design phase of my layout (which has seen delay cause I forgot to plan supports in my trackplan; also temped if hight enough I can put it over the edge of my sofa gaining me aditional 40cm to work with)
Thank you for your comment and I wish you well.
great video👍 i got one of them pens from kr models at gets last year😃, havent been able to get to any train shows this year as ive been skint, great video Mr Piccadilly Model Railways sir👍👍
Sorry to read that, but we all go through such times and we each have to decide on priorities which means cut backs elsewhere. Hopefully things will change for you soon.
Thank you for taking me along to Warley. Bill from California
lol, had to think then, if you climbed into my bag or pocket.
Very brief look, there was always so much to see couldn’t possibly see everything. By watching a variety of videos you should get a decent flavour of the show. Glad you enjoyed the video.
The water scenic product though still shrinks. It doesn't seem worth it to me. Do they have a brine version that ebbs and flows so you simulate the sea?
Hi, I understand they have a resin water, but the chap suggested I continue with the aquamagic. Least the second bottle was free.
@@piccadillymodelrailways Yes. But if you are buying such things it means you are putting some effort into a project. Seems less than optimal as the saying goes.
And here's me presuming you lived in Manchester! Obviously not.😂😂
Lol, no no no. Many people think the same. I chose Manchester Piccadilly as I wanted to build a mainline terminus station on the WCML.
Same here!!
@@piccadillymodelrailways Im not really In Australia, actually Hull.
Hi John it was great to finally meet up with you. Glad you got your water sort of sorted. My accurascale 37 is in the hands of their support team thanks to Richard. I did tell Martyn and Sam you were coming and to give you the best deal they could, that was after me being very cheeky, I know that's hard to believe, and sorting a deal for myself on a product they don't sell to the public, all will be revealed in the future, as you would say. I did get a good deal on a mk1 bachmann buffet first, the one with lights etc retailing at £85 for £30. Anyway I enjoyed the show seems you did too, met a few others too. It was dark when I left, rucksack full but I did get a seat all the way home 😂atb John and happy static grassing Andy
Thanks Andy, glad the 37 is being sorted amd that you got what you wanted. Very intruging
