I just love you!!!!!! Thank you for making me discover how much I love crocheting....and for all your hard work to make everything looks easy. You are a wonderful teacher.
Mikey, I just took up crocheting again after 30 years and then I could only go afghans, scarves anything square. watching your videos have made me a boss at crocheting. yah Mikey. You do so much work to make your videos and instructions easy, that everyone could make anything like a boss! 🌞
Thank you for the VERY clear instruction on doing the finishing stitches and hiding the yarn ends. I really appreciate this, as many tutorials assume that you already know how to nicely finish.
Wow! That gave me a better understanding of diagram and pattern interpretation. The visuals helped. I could see even in the instruction where I would have either gotten stuck or confused. (Mainly the sleeves). I am definitely going to make this top.
Mikey...after having crocheted for over 55 years this is the first time I have attempted scallops/ripple effect. Thank you for you clear and detailed instructions.
Thank you so much! You made this so simple with you explanation and graphs. Thank you for taking the time to teach us. I have a steamer and that was just perfect, the way you finished this project.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this video! I am almost through with the back panel and getting ready to put the two panels together. I am glad it is in two pieces - because if it were in a circle and doing rounds - no matter what I do - I always have my foundation circle twisted so I look for tutorials that have panels instead. This is wonderful! Thank You for you detailed instructions of this project. I will be looking for more of these!
So we could make this a longer sleeve: just below the elbow or 3/4 sleeve if we just elongate the chain that starts the sleeve area and leave plenty of yarn, where it calls for "9 feet". You can measure your chain with your body to see how long you want it for a rough guide. I think this can be a beautiful pattern for all seasons by adjusting the sleeve lengths and changing the yarn for lighter or heavier weights. Great pattern! Thanks for your guidance.
You are an amazing teacher, please don't stop teaching the us to make clothing, your explanations are wonderful. For those of you who don't like the "long monologue" please leave this young man alone and just find tutorials by other people.
Thank you Mikey for another one of your wonderful tutorials. I made this sweater and it turned out lovely. Thanks to your videos and clear, easy to follow directions I've been able to expand my crocheting skills and am gaining confidence to try new things. You're my hero....please keep them coming!😍
Yay, Mikey! I love your videos. I don't know how I missed this one, but your explanations help me so much. You just go ahead and explain how ever much you want to. I will be listening and watching you make your crochet magic. Thanks!
Hi Mikey, Thank you very much for your time, effort and passion to do these tutorials. Even though I am from Germany and didn't know the terms right from the start, it was easy to follow thanks to your explaining. Please continue with your tutorials! Much love and Liebe Grüße from Germany!
Such great tutorial! I really liked it. You are an excellent teacher. Thanks! I made one but instead of two pieces I made it a continued piece and added the sleeves extension at top. thanks!
hey Mikey .... I just finished mine in wine red for a Valentine's dance on Friday 17th. took 2 days and repeated playback of the video... but it's done and it's stunning! thank you!
What kind of yarn did you use?? Can I use cotton?? Sorry I'm very new at crochet and am currently only attempting my first garment top in cotton but I love this top
Really appreciate that you are trying to explain how to crochet a top and I subbed to TCC absolute ages ago, I've made so many stunning things following you in your crochet adventures! Love the pattern, find it quite easy to follow as well, had to make some notes so I could keep crocheting without having to rewind and turn the laptop off and just work on the rows as I went. I don't understand diagrams, so I skipped to the bits where you are actually crocheting and from there it is SO easy to follow what you are doing since it's basically monkey see monkey do (haha!) Making this top with a dk yarn from cygnet and it's coming out stunningly! Thank you for your efforts and the tutorial, love it!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!! for making a tutorial of this patten. I found it about a month ago, and wished there was a tutorial for it. So THANK YOU! For making my wish come ture.
I really enjoyed making this the tutorial really helped, I did add some extra length for the sleeves and I noticed that the size is very very off. I wear an xl and wound up having to frog it and make the large and even that is a bit big. I used a dk weight yarn and followed the pattern exactly except for making the sleeves longer. Great pattern excellent tutorial
Love your clear tutorials and diagrams. Could you do a top ,scoop neck, short sleeve, 3 inch squares that are blank in the middle. There is a pivot trim on them neckline and bottom of sleeve. Thanks for any info. I had this and lost it in a scam.
Thank you so much for this video. I love this top and couldn't follow the written directions but with your explanation I made it. Now I am putting it together, did the first part of the sleeve, but for the second one: do I start from the inside out, or do I have to turn the piece around? If so I get confused because then that "extra" row to "sew" together the sleeves will be on the "other" side. Please help. Thank you again for all your videos.
Mikey, first I'd like to say thank you for the wonderful tutorials, you explain things that make it easy with any project. There's a summer top that I'd love to make but there's not a tutorial for it. I say to myself I wish I could send it to you to do the tutorial on it. But my question for this top is it says to use caron simply soft. I am tight with finances and I have a big skein of snuggly wuggly by loops and threads 3 weight. Can I use this or won't it lay right? Sorry I got of course with my question. I think your great tutorials need to bring in some summer tops. Love your work ❣
I have a needle like his and I got mine from Wal-Mart. I don't remember if it was just 2 or 3 in a pack or a package with a bunch of different sizes. Hope this helps.
He gives the multiples, so you can make this 3X larger if you want. You just have to do the math and adjust the pattern numbers the whole way through the pattern.
The sleeve starts off with a scallop(4 stitches together), then a double crochet then two together.....Thats where I loose it....you did a scallop but only three stitches at the end? I seem to loose a stitch at the end somehow. And it would help if I saw what the sleeve would look like after a few rows.
great video, I'm following along just started my second panel, I'm using peaches & cream variegated brown tan and cream cotton yarn. Maybe wishing I would have made a medium... but cotton stretches pretty good right??!!? we will see. thanks Mikey for another great video!
Oh and wow, this is so easy to do, can't wait tile get to the arm & neck spot, right now it is late got to go to bed, will come back to it tomorrow. Thanks......Question? Do you have a pattern for a tunic and a size 2X? would love to do it.
love to try this but i want to finish my yarn before i go get more . Is it okay if i use caron one pound instead of the simply soft? Thanks for the tutorial
So excited to make this!! I can’t seem to find the weight of the yarn used and how many yards. I am using discontinued yarn and do not want to get half way finished and run out. Thank you in advance
Hello there Mikey! I have been looking for a cute, and somewhat modest swim suit cover for my daughter. I love this pattern and was wondering if and how I could modify the pattern enough to turn it into a cover up.. perhaps long enough to go to just above the knee ? What do you think ? Peace, Grace
Hi Grace. To make a longer length, all you need to do is continue the pattern repeat, until you reach your required length when you need to shape for the sleeves.
Hi Linda, saw your response to Grace's question about the length. I have a question also., if you want to make it wider for a loose coverup would you chain up a size or two and then at the shoulders, go back down to a small (9cm) as the pattern indicates for a small size. Thanks
Dalia Hester Hi Dalia. Sorry for the delay. Thanks for the question. I would just make the next size up as each finished bust size is 8 inches larger than the size before it. Two sizes bigger would then give you 16 inches larger in bust size when finished, which would be too large. Then go down to your 9cm for shoulders.
I've tried to starting this tunic in the larger size and it doesnt come out correct on the count on the 2nd row? I know I chained 130. I counted twice.my scallops don't end the way you show in the video?
Hi, it's not easy for me because I understand when the clip is translate in french and this clip no have subtitle. I am from French Polynésia an I love what you made. Merci beacoup de partager vos modèles c'est pourquoi je me suis abonnée à votre site. Serait-til possible de faire traduire? Thank you for the VERY clear instruction on doing the finishing stitches and hiding the yarn ends. I really appreciate this, as many tutorials assume that you already know how to nicely finish.
I think after my current WIP I'm going to make myself a summer top. I have never made anything like that. So many cute one's to try.
This is not a difficult pattern so it's a great starter project. Best wishes.

Wow! That gave me a better understanding of diagram and pattern interpretation. The visuals helped. I could see even in the instruction where I would have either gotten stuck or confused. (Mainly the sleeves). I am definitely going to make this top.

Great pattern, excellent demonstration. Loved the diagram and all of the explanations, really helped me understand the pattern before I started.

Mr. Sellick, any way you could do some plus size open sweaters with sleeves with scallop for your plus size fans, PLEASE?? Thank YOU
Love the pattern and your diagrams. I can't wait to finish it. I would REALLY like to know where you get your sharp darning needle.
I have a needle like his and I got mine from Wal-Mart. I don't remember if it was just 2 or 3 in a pack or a package with a bunch of different sizes. Hope this helps.
Hi Mikey, thanks for this tutorial. I was wondering if there is a way to make the hips area wider?
Thanks I found the pattern, if I make it larger, can I make it so that it will fit loose? I like things baggy, yet I love the pattern.
He gives the multiples, so you can make this 3X larger if you want. You just have to do the math and adjust the pattern numbers the whole way through the pattern.
hello,i love the pattern of this blouse and u explained it very well thank you,can i use a smaller crochet hook for example 2.00 mm??
I've enjoyed your video and I am making this top but I'm having a hard time with the sleeves. I wish you would have done a couple more rows on them.
It's just back and forth across. Where are you having difficulties exactly?
The sleeve starts off with a scallop(4 stitches together), then a double crochet then two together.....Thats where I loose it....you did a scallop but only three stitches at the end? I seem to loose a stitch at the end somehow. And it would help if I saw what the sleeve would look like after a few rows.

We have a tunic on our tutorial. Up to 5 XL. Pattern and tutorial.

I will have to check pattern this week. I’m sure it’s on there.
