One more thing. In gated communities some amenities may be there, I agree. But having car is a must either self driving or engage a driver. Only one car is not enough....if three or more members have to go out for work or school....difficult to commute. Day to day needs are ok. In standalone apartments....many can get autos or buses closeby. Even shops are nearby. It is easier for friends and relatives to visit us.... especially for senior citizens. Otherwise their life would becomes completely engulfed inside the campus only. Club house....how many times we perform functions? So...pluses and minuses in both. I prefer to stay in standalone apartment. No peer pressure.

Standalone apartments drawback is non officials floors because the builder was building 5 or 6 floors without permission and it will effect in further for resale. Builder need to take permission based on Land area and they need build till that.

I am in standalone since 8 years. I have good security, 5 acres of walking space and play area in municipal park opposite my apartment, good life. No one will impose rules on me, maid also uses same elevator .. no discrimination, metro in 500 meters, 1000 rupees per month maintenance, from balcony I can see sunrise not opposite flat balcony/bedroom :) and good luck with the UDS in high rises. Its not about affordability its about mindset. People are mostly buying in gated because of FOMO. There are filthy rich people in my apartment who could afford gated community but they didn't.
