I'm genuinely so impressed with this ship. When I heard the size compared to others in the fleet, I was worried it would just be like 'any other megaship', but it's so great to see that Princess have taken such great care to translate their brand so well into this design and scale - well done, Princess!
Thanks for watching! There have been a few changes to Sun Princess, watch this video to learn more: th-cam.com/video/xfnWeHg49-Q/w-d-xo.htmlsi=IEuDswaZiy9_mK5c
The new areas, like the redesigned piazza, look amazing! But, some areas look as boring as crew quarters but with some wallpaper and old carpet. Also some restaurants, like The Catch, don’t seem to have much character- I didn’t feel like I was in a specialty seafood restaurant. However the 3-deck design and decorating in the Horizons Dining Room are wonderful! I am very excited they modernized the boat and did what other cruislines are doing- namely MSC- with the promenade deck and wakeview pool. THE TOP DECKS ARE AMAZING!!! The Sky View Terrace, Dome, and the area on the aft deck 19 all are incredible additions that make the boat unique!
So many great discoveries. I'd definitely be wanting to experience Spellbound, it looks like it would be a lot of fun. Interesting that the casino has 13 tables (unlucky number). When I worked on the Grand and Golden Princess (2000 - 2003) we had 18-20 tables!
Spellbound was very interesting and the magic/illusions were incredible. I was even involved in one 😏 Now that you say it, 13 tables is an interesting choice 🧐
Hi. Thank you for your video! Do you know if Park 19 is ready to use? If not, maybe princess gave some information about the date, when it will be open? We booked Cruise (13th of July), and our daughter can’t wait for this part of the ship 😊
Thanks for watching! The last I heard, Park19 was still closed unfortunately. Keep an eye on Princess Cruises and Sun Princess Facebook groups for the latest news and info.
Shows are usually at 7 and 9 or thereabouts. There are formal nights - they’re not themed. The number of formal nights for your voyage is in your cruise documentation.
Thanks Adrian for another great tour. I am afraid I am not that enthused. I find the choice of restaurants and bars confusing and so many restaurants have a surcharge. I am very disappointed with the small seating numbers of various show venues. You highlighted this by saying to get there early or having to queue for a long time. Not what I want to do with my time on board. My mind could not cope when you mentioned various suits having access to different areas and the perks involved. I know that is normal there days, but so many levels of suite category. But the biggest shock was when you walked around the open decks with all the sun lounges. It even looks crowded even when nobody is using them, but what did it look like when they were occupied. My impression is that I won't be heading off overseas just to try Sun Princess. Sorry Mate. As you know, I am a small traditional ship cruiser. 😉
Thanks for watching, Les! Yes, a few of those issues I raised in my review - the entertainment venues are definitely not ideal and a reservations system would be the best workaround for Princess. While I typically agree with your comments about suite-exclusive spaces, on Sun, it just doesn’t feel like a problem. After being onboard, I have to say that there are just *so many* outdoor spaces for everyone, that it doesn’t feel at all restrictive or like something has been taken away from the masses. To me, Sun is one of the best designed mainstream ships sailing the seas today. Thanks again for watching, Les! Always appreciate your viewership 😄
Thank you for a very complete tour...are there any areas on the ship for adults only...besides the casino... does Princess enforce any cutfews for minors?
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed the tour. There are no set curfews for minors on Princess from memory. The only adults only section outside of the casino is The Sanctuary, though this is a pay-to-access area at the moment and will soon be exclusive for travellers staying in a Sanctuary Collection stateroom. www.princess.com/en-au/ships-and-experience/onboard-experience/sanctuary-collection
That's a shame! They were testing the Roll Glider thingy in late April, and officers said they were awaiting certification. Hopefully it's not too far off.
Major Dining Changes to Sun Princess Set to Debut in October 2024

Very well covered and in depth tour. We're booked for January 2026. I can't wait to see this ship in person.

A great review, Adrian. I've got to say I particularly like the look of the Sea View and Dome areas.
Thanks Sonya! Glad you enjoyed it.
Great tour as always will think about going on this big beauty one day when the get around to going over where Sun Princess is located
Thanks Wendy, glad you enjoyed the tour.
I can’t wait to be on this ship in January 2025. This is the best, and most comprehensive, ship tour I’ve found. Thank you!
Thanks so much for watching. Glad you enjoyed the tour.
This was a fantastic tour. I'm going on Sun Princess in October and this video got me thoroughly excited. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Enjoy your cruise.

Great tour. Cruise ships are becoming a ship within a ship. We will be forced to pay a premium if we want to use the better areas of the ship.
A great review. Thankyou.
Thanks for watching!

Great job!
Thank you!
Very impressed! Going to book a cruise.
Hope you enjoy!

I like your ship tour of the sun Princess I do have a question are you planning ongoing on the icon of the seas
Thanks! No firm plans to go on Icon just yet, but it's sort of on the horizon. I'll be sure to post if I do.
What time are the shows and is there themed formal dinner days?
We said in 2 weeks

Supposedly Park 19 is still closed which is very disappointing, especially with no update from Princess
That's a shame! They were testing the Roll Glider thingy in late April, and officers said they were awaiting certification. Hopefully it's not too far off.
Is there a casino on board sun princess?
Yes - you couldn’t have missed it if you’ve watched the tour 😅 feel free to use the chapters to jump to your preferred location onboard
Great tour thanks, looks like they have thought of everything, love to see a show in the dome
Is there food on a cruise? Of course there is.
Have a look at 9 minutes and 6 seconds into the video you'll find the casino
