    Very interesting AC solution.
    ... Would really love to see it power the M18 Table Saw for the ultimate test. Subscribed!

    Thanks for testing the compressor specifically. I'm overhead mounting for mine while in the shop and it would be great to plug in like this. This is so informative. Your accumulated experience with Milwaukee plug-in conversions really shows. Thanks so much for sharing with us.

    I think they got the timeout unit to save batteries because I believe the batteries have a safety in it so it never fully discharges so you never freeze your battery when you leave it out side below zero and like you say that's a mid Duty air compressor not a all-day air compressor always said they should have made a AC plug in the side but I guess Ryobi beat them to it because they have tools that have it where you can plug it into the wall I would like Milwaukee to make a battery adapter like the one you make

    The ultimate goal is to plug in more of the heavy duty stationary Milwaukee tools, such as the table saw. Do you think that'll be possible?

      While I don't have the table saw (yet), I suspect it will have a draw similar to the miter saw, but probably a bit more. This power supply can theoretically provide up to 1800 watts, and I think the miter saw only required around 1200 watts under heavy load - so it should have sufficient headroom to power something like the saw.

    Adapted my m12 mini compressor to take m18 batteries. Small buck regulator and some creative mounting on the side.

    Im waiting for you to try m18 table saw with this power supply, but please test it if it’s easier to stop it by cutting 2x4 with wall power supply or like at least 12amp battery. Thanks

    Good job. I was looking at getting an LED driver and setting it up to run my miter saw.

    • @harrisonhobbies241
      @harrisonhobbies241  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That must be a pretty beefy LED driver!

    • @barrettalen
      @barrettalen 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@harrisonhobbies241 an LED driver is nothing more than a AC/DC converters. I've found an 18+ volt with 1200 watts of power.
      The LED driver has a + & - wire on the output side that goes to the + & - side of the battery adapter. Wire gauge is the same on the battery adapter and LED driver. I haven't tried it out yet however why wouldn't an already made AC/DC converter work to power a mitre saw in a pinch if needed. I have at least 5 8ah batteries and I can get a couple days of use before I even get down to 2 bars on an 8ah and send it to the charger..bvv

    Thanks
    very useful info pulling up to 23Amp of power
    works well with High Output M18 batteries
    those 18650 just can’t put up with the discharge especially the China one
    2Ah or 5Ah can handle them cuz those Samsung 20R and 25R can handle it
    21700 cells definitely can handle better

    What’s the cut off working time for this tool ? Can it be use for more than and have you tested for non stop working no breaks for 1hr of course will need that many batteries but my main concern is if I need it to run small tools recommended in those shown on box or for example filling up a pill of tires will this tool need a break to recover from heat or chip timer if I had so many batteries or after let’s say 15mins it stops and needs to cool down even if I had plenty battery that are 4bars ? In your case will a battery maybe throw a temperature and tell the tool we are cool to run and having plenty will just need replacement of batteries ( not wired )?

      Someone in your comments said they already attempted it and that it didn’t work with the table saw. However, they didn’t mention plugging into any other tools, so I am not sure if it was user error or not.
      The community really needs to have a plug in option for this saw as a bunch of 12.0’s is not financially viable for everyone wanting a job site and shop table saw.

    Hi Harrison, i have made a similar device but intended on running this compressor from my work vehicles on board 12v batteries.
    I am using a 12vdc to 19vdc 30amp up-step converter. I have made the battery adapter and everything works great on it - grinder, 1/2" impact high torque, drill, vaccum, inflator, etc. It all runs like a full charged m18 is on the devices.
    Everything runs perfect except the m18 fuel compressor... When i plug my adapter in, i hear the relay click, then 5 seconds later the relay click out. And nothing. It doesn't appear to be overloading the step-up box as the led indicator light doesn't dim from load... any thoughts?

    • @harrisonhobbies241

      Hi Anthony - I researched this as an option originally. The power adapter you're referencing was designed for the Rigid Press tool, which (from my understanding) has a different battery interface then the rest of Rigid's tool line, and i'm not aware of any interface adapters available for this one specifically.
      I'm going off of memory here since I can't locate its specs, but i believe it only delivers something like 200 watts, so it wouldn't power much if you COULD find an adapter.

    lol I got 37 seconds into it and realized it's not click bait... why would a CORDLESS air compressor be turned into a CORDED air compressor, just for the quietness? surely a corded compressor with that price point would yield some other very good options. boggles my mind, and defeats Milwuakee's whole usage for this thing, and that is that it is cordless.
