Thank you for showing how to turn main power off, checking to make sure power is off and how to remove and install new breaker. Basic but key information that most videos don’t show.
I needed a new breaker and could not find an electrician to do the job in my area. None worked on the weekends, and could not come out for two or more weeks to do the job. I ran across your video and it was so step by step. The video gave me the confidence I needed to do it myself. Girl power! Thank you for this informative video for I could not go another day without power in my bedroom. I have subscribed and will be sharing info about it. 🙏✊
Glad to see you spend about 3/4 of the video on the most important part - confirming the panel is dead! It's a big issue on these older panels that don't have the main disconnect means in the panel itself.
Thanks. I have watched my dad do this dozens of times, but I needed a quick refresher because I have never done this myself. This video was short and to the point, but went over everything that needed to be gone over. I appreciate it.
Thank you, very educational, I love TH-cam, and all the people that are willing to share there knowledge with us, I’ve learned so much and am still learning from videos just like this, so big thumbs up.👍
Nice to see so much effort put into safety. So many videos out there where people don't even mention the fact that this can kill you instantly if you don't have the power properly turned off.
Safest video I've seen on here all the other videos show you how to change the breaker with the power on really smart if you don't know what you're doing don't post anything on here.
Very helpful. I am not an electrician but this is easy. My socket on the outside don't work one comes on and off I was told it needs to be changed. Braker
Thanks, exactly what I was looking for! Question. I live in a townhouse with 6 units. I went to the location where all the meters are. I can’t tell which is mine. Each one has a little plastic tag attached to it but by the numbers on the tag I can’t figure out which is mine. What is the secret?
Thank you for the video. I have a similar panel with only a few breakers. However, one switch keeps turning off due to the load. The breaker is a single slot, can I upgrade that to a double slot or will I just have to connect items elsewhere so it does not put much load on the breaker?
Hey man I really hope you see this early, hell even at all.. the electrician wanted to charge me $600 to replace my main but I couldn't afford it.. well 600 for the breaker, plus him having to do insurance, and the rest. Im retired army and since 2020 $$ has been tight so I went and found a breaker to fit.. it's a cutler Hamer, the main that's in is a Bryant and I couldn't find one for anything. OK so here's my thing. I've not began taking it out just yet, I've killed all the power. However my tester won't work for crap, my neighbor who does electrical some told me that after the mains off I'd be fine just don't touch any wires.top it off I only have one screw, I guess that'd go the same way right.. sorry to ask a stupid question but I survived 7 deployments and don't wanna go out over this
Thank you so much I live on as and do not have the money for electrician. I will remember your help and give you a call when something bigger happen and also recommend your services thank you
I have one outlet in the kitchen that doesn't have power in it. All the rest has power. Nothing ejected in the control panel. I opened the outlet and the wiring look no damaged. I doubt that one braker need to be replaced but I don't know which one... How can I determine which braker needs to be replaced ?
Are all circuits going to be the same when you buy one? Is there anything different I need to know to look for? All I know is it is a 20 (actually right where you changed out) for my kitchen. Also, I have a large switch that says "main" right above all the others in the box that can cut off everything in house. Is that the only thing I need to flip? I don't need to go looking for any others right? That's the one I would flip every time my well pump under house would go out when I had well water. Damn ants. I had to routinely sand the points and then re-prime it. Sorry. Not mechanically inclined at all.
I have an electrician coming in a few days. But one breaker keeps tripping. The one for main tv, cable box, surround sound. I unplugged all and now it still trips breaker with nothing plugged in. Any thoughts or suggestions so I don’t get over charged?
Can you tell me if an Eaton Circuit Breaker should have the test Light showing on even though it seems to be working. I had a bad one so ordered a new one but its the only one in the box that has that test light on? Just curious Thanks.
How do I know if I can change my 15 amp breaker to a 20amp? The cable I’m running says “Essex 14-26 non metallic sheathed cable type NM-B 600v E10816A?
I'm not an electrician, but your clue is the 14-26 number which is the wire gauge rated from 14-26 (the larger the number, the smaller the wire and consequently the less power that can safely travel through it). #14 gauge wire is fine for 15 amps, but not for 20 amps, you would need at least #12 gauge capable wire according to safety codes. Trying to push 20 amps of power through #14 gauge wire will cause it to heat up and potentially catch fire, so you definitely want to either run a new wire or replace the breaker with one of the same rating. Hope that helps!

Big help! Thanks for keeping it to the point. Unlike other 30 minute videos with 25 minutes of a bad comedy skit. Thanks again.
Glad to see you spend about 3/4 of the video on the most important part - confirming the panel is dead! It's a big issue on these older panels that don't have the main disconnect means in the panel itself.
Great video and instructions! I changed my 50 amp breaker and couldn't believe how easy it was!
Thanks. I have watched my dad do this dozens of times, but I needed a quick refresher because I have never done this myself. This video was short and to the point, but went over everything that needed to be gone over. I appreciate it.
So why was your dad changing his breaker so frequently?
Ok
Thank you for making it short and sweet. Some of these videos are over 20 min long!

Thank you for this video! I need to change out a breaker and am terrified but your video has helped me!
Safest video I've seen on here all the other videos show you how to change the breaker with the power on really smart if you don't know what you're doing don't post anything on here.
I agree! Most leave the main power on. I don't care how experienced you are accidents happen.
The bus is still live unless you pull the meter
other say no need to shut off the main. Listen to this guy, especially you first timer replacement guys.turn the power off
Just remember it isn't the 240 volts that'll kill ya - it's the 100 amps! 🤣
Exactly what I needed to make sure I'm safe changing out my dual 20 amo garage breaker.
OMG. YOU made it so simple. You da man. Thanks
Thank you for this! Now its time to change my water heater breaker
Thank you for the short simple to the point video
Very helpful. I try to do as much myself as I can. Your instructions make it possible. Just subscribed
Thank you! This was very helpful. Appreciate it very much...and Great video!
Wow, you saved me$100's on electrician cost, thanks so much 👍
just quick question, 240 volts at energized.
then 148v at non-energized. shouldn’t it be at zero reading?
Excellent. fast video, only what you need to know. perfect

Thanks, this was very helpful. I just did it.
Thanks for the video! Hopefully I don't kill myself trying to swap mine out. Should be good now that I know to cut power to the building.
@Abdul Rahman that's sounds like you need to rewire everything! Sorry
Haha how did it go? I'm going to change mine out

I doubt that one braker need to be replaced but I don't know which one...
How can I determine which braker needs to be replaced ?
Just what I needed! Many thanks!
Thanks!
One question; why did you replace the breaker? Do breakers go bad after a while it have an electric issue that burned it?
Outstanding and greatly communicated. Peace
Very helpful!! Thanks for your video!
Great Video!! Thank you! you just saved me $150.00!!
What do you do if you don't have a main breaker to shut off power? The power for my house goes straight from the meter to the box with no shut off..
life saver! Thanks Sam
Straight to the point thank you
Excellent explanation
Great video. So easy to understand. Thank you
Done really really well, thank you! Huge help!
I am still alive this video saved my life lol..
What if I dont have a main breaker. Can i still replace a breaker with the main power on ?
Excellent review ... thank you!
Thank you. Just saved some money
Thanks brother ...👍 ..really helpful
Dont you have to replace the 14 guage wire to a 12 guage wire when upgrading from a 15 amp breaker to a 20 amp breaker?
No. But it would be ideal i guess
Great explanation thanks.
I had no idea they made tandem breakers..great as I needed to add another breaker but had no space..so il take one out and add a tandem

I love how everyone does this to different amounts of sketch. Some are a lot more cringy to watch. This is not one of those.
Excellent thank you
Awesome video. Thanks!
Thanks, very helpful.
Perfect video
I think 3 of mine went out! So if I find the mine power outside and turn it off I can do this my self?
3 breakers at once seems unlikely and breakers trip for a reason. You should call a licensed electrician.
Thank you so much for this video
That’s if I ever need to I’m
Coming back to rewatch ha
Thank you homie...
extra tip, use your right hand, he uses his left and if he had hit something electrical, it wouldn’t went across is heart
Is this true?
What do I do I dont have the master braker for my panel?
Isn't safe to just turn off the panel to switch a breaker ?
where are you that you can just turn off the power by the Meter. Ours is locked and you have to call the city.
The information I needed was what wires go where apparently that wasn't important for this video 🤦♀️
Thank you!
Sam where are the hvac videos! where you at?
Thanks for the help

Hey Las Vegas how you doing me to
240v will not kill you. I know a guy that got shocked by a 460v breaker and it was like a bee sting.
Not all breakers come out the same way.
If your good at the board game operation, you don't need to cut the power 🤣
