This looks like a pretty good ride. I wonder how those spinning bats look in the normal performance lighting....maybe with a strobe light effect that could be very cool.
Thanks mate! This is a really clear video thanks to the lights being on (and presumably a good camera?). This'll be really useful. I Just wish I could have been there. Liked and added to my Theme Park Essential Playlist. - Tim -
I got stuck on this ride before for 20 mins it was horrible being stuck in the dark for that lmao at least the people in front of us got near a light so lucky for them
I swear they took out the whole "outside" scene when I went. The man and carriage were placed clearly against the wall and everything just seemed black, like all the textures were gone. Maybe I was paying too much attention to all the lights everywhere
It might be bold but if they just did the necessary TLC and refreshed DUEL for this year I would have preferred that. Unpopular opinion but the curse at Alton Manor doesn't flow the best, not really the best way of going about effects, some scenes look good, then others are static, sometimes pitch black for 30 seconds! The audio also needs some work on curse, its too overwhelming and I think thats what made it less scary, because it was so loud you don't really hear the jumpscare noises that made DUEL. Also the first scene about where you enter the tunnel now looks very odd i have to say, the theming that was on it before looked fantastic, shame really, but aside from that curse is not the worst, maybe if they made the trains turn on the mirror effect scene it'd be alot better because people can't really turn their heads 90 degrees without even knowing that scene exists.
the mirror scene is the way it is so that you catch it after multiple rides or even better as to how i have watched other riders one person will notice it and be like look at that! but its too late the scene is gone which then drives the impulse for another ride to see. its quite clever really. also the fireplace tunnel is way better as it adds to the story of how everyone in the house died. they burnt. theres indications of this around the house but some peoples choice to dislike things will stop them from noticing so il tell you. one of the first scenes the dinner hall has the guests that perished and they are all skeletons with glowing chests. thats symbolising a burning core. also the entrance room when emily turns to ghost mode look at the fireplace and il say no more..
i hated this! its because i hate scary rides and im 10 i was crying and my friend and her sister were scared but they werent crying they were a little bit scared btw her sister is 8 and she is 10 too
Designer John Wardley specifically didn't want an omnimover. He wanted each car to feel alone in the dark, and also wanted to change the speed of the cars during the ride. They are self-propelled and have on-board computers to control the speed and distance apart.
@@SonOfFurzehatt I don't know why i thought so. They're all together in the station, but mid-ride you can't seeee anything connecting you to the infront cart.
It's not supposed to be scary. Killer clowns with knives are tacky and i'd just get annoyed and want to punch it if it jumped out and scared me. This ride is about just having fun
The flying head that shouts yeeahhhh always cracks me up, I find myself doing that on the drive home every single time 😂
chuckled myself reading this, used to chase my little bro round the house making that noise 🤣
I got stuck on this ride.... my friends were freaking out... I was getting some extra points.

It's so weird seeing how all the effects work...
Miss the 2003-2017 soundtrack!
I don’t it was too fun the new one is more creepy but it’s ur opinion
@@ATAMytb I mean the new one's defo more ethereal tbf I grew up with the older one haha
@@thetributingstrober552 yes but the new one fits with the theming
the first half doesn't actually look that bad with the lights on.
Nice pov enislander. Like the impressive shot of the giant spider and the enthusiastic shot of the bats going round with the lights on. Liking it :D
Yeah it is interesting going round with the lights on and the effects working as well.
The music sounds like something out of the Castlevania soundtrack.
+lcjr Symphony of the Night especially.

True masterpiece.

That one time it broke down with me inside is a day I'll never forget...

3:12 I thought that guy gave the finger at first 0.0
wow its really weird seeing it with the lights on great video:)
especially the start where you had to walk to get to your cart there was a book flipping pages and a little girl
I swear they took out the whole "outside" scene when I went. The man and carriage were placed clearly against the wall and everything just seemed black, like all the textures were gone.

The UV lighting is so bright its far too easy to tell what scene you're in you mean
@@ThemeParkChomp Apart from all the lighting changes in 2010, 2012 and 2018 that you HH craving conservatives only remember when it's convenient
I miss this soundtrack
Really good video!
I went on this when I was six.... I screamed the place down
It is much darker now and now added more scary things
This is a lights on version. It's supposed to be brighter than usual
Its actually way too bright because of all the UV lights in the hall of spiders.
AWESOME!
I love alton towers
all i did was cry, squeeze my mum and close my eyes and try to block out the noise so i hardly saw anything
Thats amazing (the bats are the best)
I hate ghost trains so this is my scariest ride at Alton Towers, more than Rita and Smiler
Good condition yo I watch a review were the screen was dead

Is the last bit in reference to the hands? Haha not seen anyone else pick up on that yet@@Deathwish026
also i didnt get a score neither did my mum since she was holding me all the time i feel bad for that...
Much prefer the new music, it's just more tension building than this.
The Haunted Tower Experiance at Alton Towers.
my mum kept telling me its nearly done just so i didnt cry more but it wasnt nearly over
I got stuck at the demon part
Same :O I flipped the freak out
I've been on that
Thos ride is jewel the golden nugget ride now and its such a shame

It's not about scaring you it's about having a good time
They turn the lights off now so.... I pooped myself XD
Your comment is out of date bro.
@@ThemeParkChomp Except for all the UV lighting that you heaped praise regarding, lemme guess - moving the goalposts much?
That Is Not Scary At All
I would be scared if A Clown With A knife Showed Up That Is Way Better Than This Shity Ride.....
