Not going to lie, you are one of few bikers that obey road signs, I applaud you on that! 👏 I believe you are correct about the lack of sidewalks, but I also think because homeowners do not want the hassle of clearing the sidewalks during winter and the that the sidewalks cuts onto their property. The second house on High Point is listed for almost $18 million, I can pick up an extra shift and go half with you on the house...lol! Great video again! 👍
I checked out a video on TH-cam for a couple of young guys are going into the old abandoned houses including the one on the bridal path 18 million to 32 million homes that have been abandoned and they're going in and filming it inside showing you what it's like
Wow! You just took me on a Stroll down memory lane. I remember how windy St. Ives Ave was. When you turned Right I was "Oh my God, Rochester Ave!". That was where I lived, at least they repaired and covered the Ditches. Remember Mildenhall being "narrow" when I was a Kid, yet driving on it, when the speed limit was 40, I slowed down to 25. Too close for comfort for Me. Thank you for the ride down Memory lane. I remember when the York U was the School for the Deaf way back in the day, correct me if I am wrong. Leslie
that security guard is actually nice - we were there a few weeks ago for a night stroll I guess not a stroll when I have to drive half an hour but he entertained us by telling us about 21 savage's head on top of the gate keypad the gate opened and saw Kevin Durant it was amazing..it helped that I had my seven years old with me and my teenager daughter.
When my daughter told me about eight years ago that she was working on a documentary with Drake, she said he was really sweet and introduced himself to the crew, shook hands with everyone and hung around to chat for awhile. I told her that if he fell in love with her, she had my permission to marry him. (I don’t know why she doesn’t understand my sense of humour). 🤪 Another great video! Thanks again!
sheeblou __ My daughter said she’d let me know when it’s going to be released, but I suspect it may have been shelved for now. The interesting thing about it is that her two days of work paid twice as much in U.S. dollars, than a two day shoot she did for CBC with Meghan Follows of Anne of Green Gables.
terrific video, living in buffalo, i love coming to toronto and exploring, def going to check this area out once we can cross the border...Thank you again for this:)
Another great video! Thanks for doing it! You rode by Gordon Lightfoot's house, 16 Park Lane Circle. Conrad lived at 26 Park Lane Circle. Large lot. More than six acres. And it's Sunnybrook Park, not Sunnyside, lol. ;)
The main entrance to Edwards Gardens is on the southwest corner of Lawrence Ave E and Leslie. If you had kept going east on Lawrence you would have seen an entrance to the big parking lot (where you ended up) on the right. The trail used to be unpaved but sometime in the last few years it was paved. That would be a really nice ride in the fall. Stay away on the weekends because it's very busy then. Edwards Gardens is very beautiful, but when I was a kid, out of all the school trips, this was the most boring place to go. There's another trail close by. If you continue east on Lawrence across Leslie, at the first traffic light is an old rail spur that was decommissioned a few years ago and turned into a recreational trail. From there, you could go north up to York Mills Rd, or go south to just before Eglinton Ave. A bit further east still on Lawrence Ave E, just across the Don Valley Parkway, is the north entrance to the Charles Sauriol Conservation Area. The city is still building and extending the trail, but check it out if you get a chance.
Last year I went to Edwards Gardens, I was so excited, make mistake, it was not easy as I had to take the subway and because of contraction I had to take 3 buses. After I've arrived I realized it was not James Garden.
Johnny you've called south of Edwards gardens Sunnyside park on a couple of occasions it's actually Sunnybrook park Sunnyside is down on the south side of the Lakeshore over near High park just thought I'd mention that love your videos keep up the good work
What an amazing vlog Johnny 🥰 beautiful homes I really enjoyed the view 😍 you just know how to entertain your viewers 👏👏 but did the security answer when you asked if Drake is home? Thanks Johnny keep these wonderful narrative vlogs coming 🤗💞🤗
it must be nice to have money, the hubby and I are having a hard time buying a house down here because the prices have shot up exponentially over the past year and a half. I couldn't imagine having so much money to actually be able to afford a house the size of these ones. Nice to look at though.
I've grown sour on the helmet cam, without anything in the shot to stabilize the view it's a bit too "floaty", the sudden head movements (necessary for safety) can be jarring and my GoPro is a buggy POS (they all are...) even though it's better suited for this than my Osmo. I'll go back in the fall and do it as a walking video for a proper look around but I think this is the vantage point for cycling videos from now on. I may revisit that if I get bored lol
Hi Johnny did you know that Drake played on Degrassi: The Next Generation. Drake portrayed Jimmy Brooks, a basketball star who became physically disabled after he was shot by a classmate.
Hi Rosa, yes I was aware of that, I used to watch it. I remember the guy who played Wheels used to come into my parents business and play arcades. Sadly I heard he has since passed away.
@@JohnnyStrides You know Johnny, when I used to watch Degrassi. I'm not sure if it was his acting but I always found Wheels to be an angry and sad person. It's so sad he had to die so young may he R.I.P.
Thanks Andrew. I'm not a fan of the fish-eye look and have stopped using my GoPro altogether (correcting the fish-eye crops the image ending up with one similar to this). This one might have been better with the helmet cam though although the sudden head movements are a bit jarring for me to watch. Cheers
Thanks. When I go back I'll do it as a walking video so I can get a better look around. My cycling videos aren't so much about their surroundings as they are the experience of cycling through the city so this one was a bit awkward from that point of view but I thought I'd try anyway. Cheers
The camera is chest mounted so it's not really possible. I did say I'll go back and do a walking tour of the area (these videos are more about the experience as a cyclist...).
@@JohnnyStrides Have you tried 2 cameras chest mounted? Might work for many cycling and walking videos. You do a fantastic job, but my family and I watch your videos on a smart TV and we often comment that we'd like to see the side views because otherwise we see mostly the road or the sidewalk and not as much of the neighbourhood itself.
Is that really a thing? Spitting in public is absolutely disgusting (if you were being literal). That was one of the big turn offs from living in Seoul (most things were amazing) but the number of older men just unloading their lung boogers onto the sidewalk was borderline depressing.
A mountain bike would have been good for about 2% of this ride? If I get a second bike it will be a road bike (or a hybrid for winter). Mountain would be 4th on the list ;)
Idaho stops are generally accepted in residential areas. No cop is giving a ticket to a cyclist for doing so (it's actually safer than completely stopping which is why it's legalized in some areas).

I think you'll end up owning 98% of the property (the 2% I own will be funded by your superchats lol).
Thanks Marcus!
Johnny can then do a walkthrough tour of the house if 3 of us go in. 😁👍

This is probably one of the your safest bike rides in Toronto without getting cut off by drivers.
Indeed, and no luxury SUVs with broken turn signals tried to mow me down either (probably because the people here have hired drivers...).
