Is there any reason for that price? Because the 200-300$ it's costing is way more expansive than any other SW figuarts, they usually cost 60-120$
@@flavioaraujo2142 This figure was a Web Exclusive. Meaning there's no chance it'll ever be re-released or produced again. It's also kinda of a necessary figure for the Obi-Wan/Qui Gon/Maul battle recreation. That's why it's ridiculously priced on the aftermarket. It's the only Qui Gon we're getting from this line.
This guy cannot come in the mail fast enough! Looking forward to having Liam Neeson and Samuel L Jackson on the same shelf ;)

I've always liked Qui-Gon's lightsaber. I had two red lightsabers as a kid that had his handle.
I got lucky with mine. My main face is pretty much perfect, dead on really. The second face is okay and I will replicate the death scene with acrylic rods, some sanding, and some translucent red spray paint. Should look good.
This is a great figure Robo! Really dig this one! Definitely gonna pick it up soon.

Great review as always Robo, I was also thinking what other face they could have added and the only expression I could think of that I would have prefered over the "being impaled by maul's lightsaber" was the closed eyes (meditating) face in the scene where he's waiting for the forcefield to open to continue fighting Maul, maybe Bandai should have just used the money they spent on the extra face to add a little bit of height to the figure (that's just my opinion), the figure looks great but I think being Liam Neeson he should be just a hair taller.
Yeah, he extends up a bit at the waist but I agree, he should be a little taller.
I know everyone hated Jar Jar but a figure of him would be pretty great in 6inch. He has an interesting design and would translate well. If they made him rare then there would be less chance for it not to sell. It would also be funny seeing scalpers sell a Jar Jar figure for a lot of money. I would defiantly buy it we need more prequel black series.
Legend_oflouis Jar Jar would add so much fun to people's shelves and ACBA photos. That's why I love the Harley Quinn even though I'm not a Suicide Squad fan.

The Figuarts looks better on the shelf but the Black Series definitely has more of a future in pro basketball.

I think mace would look good with the black series qui gon cause it looks like the height matches better .neeson 6'4 jackson 6'2 it looked pretty good could be wrong tho lol.....we need some black series pod racers now!

I've thought f that, but after a while the color becomes kind of a signature, at least in my head. That and my camera settings would change background to background, I can barely remember what I need to do sticking with just one, haha.

Great figure but the likeness only being like 80-90% there is distracting me. It looks more human and realistic than the black series but something is definitely a little off.
Extra head seems kind of useless if he doesn't have a hole in the chest. That would've been a cool feature.

It’s a little bit grainy but Liam Neeson, like Harrison Ford & Mark Hamill, has a very difficult likeness to capture in figures. SH did a stellar job here I think.

Though I gotta say his neutral face looks kinda weird, I don't think the likeness is there or something's off. Maybe it could've looked more aged or something. Kinda looks like a shorter guy cosplaying as Qui Gon.

I wonder why in the Model Kit series they do not make models like Super Droid, the Droideka, or other Empire soldiers like the Snow Trooper or the Flame Trooper or the TIE Pilots ... I would buy them ALL indiscriminately! I do not like the Figuarts series ... too much in sight the joints, too "toys" for me;) Thank you again and keep up your amazing work on this channel! :)

I feel like some of these import figures are already quite advanced I don't know what can be done to improve them. At least in terms of articulation.
Figuarts has teased a new style or system that involves covered joints so the sculpt isn't broken up. But I only saw one picture, not sure if they are still pushing it or working on it or what.
The Fwoosh it would certainly be interesting to see how that works.
Idk which version of qui gon to get. In this review the SH figuarts version seems to fall apart easily the hair sticks out a little, and the articulation is kinda limited but this version looks more realistic.

figuarts frequently have scale issues, like here, on many occasions they're correct 1:12 though , regardless of franchise
I think I figured out what's off....his face is a tad too wide, especially in the forehead area, and his eyebrows are a little too manicured. Reminds me of another actor from the 90s or something but can't place it. After a few reviews I figured just subscribe! They've all been fun to watch. Thanks for all the up to date Info 👍

Man, that Black Series Qui Gon green lightsaber looks a lot better than the SH Figuarts one. Does the green on the BS figure pop that much more in person as it shows in this video, in front of that background?

Great review, as always. For me the hands are a bit small too (little bit girly?) especially when you think how tall/big Liam Neeson is? Plus what's with SHF not painting/wrong colour plastic for the hands and neck, is this a new thing, or have I just not noticed it on previous figures?

Dooku and Ki-Adi-Mundi are my two most wanted prequel figures at this point. And if they do make a Ki-Adi I'll have to track down a hat for his comic Outlander look. But that makes me want Aurra Sing and Sharad Hett. The list goes on and on...

Hey, just started watching your reviews. Just gonna add in my one gripe about this figure. I feel that it's too short compared, especially compared to Mace. Liam Neeson is taller than Samuel L Jackson, so with Mace being taller it just throws me off.
Finally we have a Qui-Gon Figure But i need a PloKoon Figure. That were cool because i can buy the mace Qui-Gon and PloKoon Figure then i have my favorite jedis

I have both Maul and Obi Wan and I had NO idea Qui Gon was going to be a web exclusive... so this sucks because I checked on eBay and he's like $100-120... I checked on Japanese sites and they were around the same price. Is it too late to get this guy at a reasonable price?
Prices may drop eventually but man, it being exclusive it will probably always be high.

The secondary market will raise the price like crazy then if the sites like Mykombini, and Anime-export get more they will sell them for the higher price. I learned that the hard way with the padme and chewy. It's outrageous

My problem with this figure is that the hair is too golden. His hair isn’t that golden in the movie
Bandai does with most of the characters with blonde hair. I guess to simulate light reflection. They've toned it down over the years though, that first Jedi Luke was straight up gold gold.
Haven't seen the video yet but going off the thumbnail the black series head looks better all though this is more life-like

I think I'm gonna just stick with the black series Qui-Gon for now. The headsculpt on the figuarts is off just enough for me that I definitely can't justify the $120 price tag he's going for now. Kinda bums me out because Qui-Gon is one of my favorite prequel characters. Can't wait for The Last Jedi Rey figuarts though, that figure looks amazing.

Didn't say I don't think the figuarts isn't superior, but neither of them really look like him imo. In my eyes, this is the worst likeness in a face sculpt Bandai has done for Star Wars yet. But the black series is only like $20 and the figuarts is 6x that price. If I'm gonna have a figure that doesn't look right either way' I'll stick with the $20 one.

Hey robo, great review as always. A quick question for you or anyone else that may know. Do you think we'll see a second wider release of figures like Qui Gon, Padme, Anakin, etc that were a little hard to get? I wasn't in a position financially to order any of them back when the opportunity was there but I do want them all! Darth Maul too. As a side note, have you noticed that on eBay lately there's been a slew of listings for the SH Figuarts Jedi Luke at super low prices? I ordered one and got a shipping notification yesterday. Yeah, those are bootlegs. And I don't think the exclusives are going to see a re-release, they seem to be more made-to-order and then gone.
