I just wanted to say that I have watched a number of planner videos and found yours to be the most inspiring! I am starting to make adjustments to mine as we speak! Thank You!!
I have went through so many planners and material with them and have never thought to bring in the cardstock, colorful paper and stickies. Very crafty and colorful. I love it! Its exactly what I have been missing in mine. I can't wait to go get some of that tape! Thanks for the ideas!
Thanks for sharing your video it was very nice and inspiring to me, for I too have a Franklin Covey and a pocket Filofax and I love them both, I love all the inserts you incorporated into your planner and thanks for helping me out with more ideas for mine. tfs, Sandy!
Love so much about what you have done. I used colors too back when my kids were younger... I have 6 kids, so my days were always soooo colorful LOL I have not had to use planners all that much for the last few years... but am about ready to get going again and hope to use some of your ideas. TFS!!! hugs....~kimmer
You were very inspiring. I am taking the idea of using leaflet inserts for weekly to-dos instead of writing them down week after week and wasting space. Thanks for sharing. God bless.
Wow I love your set up!! Think I am going to copy some of your ideas, I think they will work for me. Thanks 4 sharing and looking forword to part 2. Karol
You did such a great job with your first video! And I LOVE how you've decorated your planner! I have a Filofax now and I've had and loved Franklin Covey planners prior. It's all the same thing. Your planner is gorgeous, well organized, and SO creative! If you get a chance, post an update. ;)
That was great! I didn't even realize how long the video was I loved seeing your techniques and tweaks. Great job on the fauxlofax! I'll be sporting a Day Runner very soon and I love how you incorporated so many ideas into your personal planner. I used to keep a detailed planner in high school and will be starting back up now that I've got my own kids and different activities for the family. I'm looking forward to watching the next videos ^_^
Where did you go? I love your videos! Please come back! I watched this one a few days after you posted it and then I watched it again and again! Now I am watching it again. What planner are you using now? Please come back and make more videos!
Thank you!! I am glad that I have given you some ideas to incorporate in your planner!! I also really love having all of the different papers and stickers!!
Very informative video....enjoyed very much., I also have the Franklin Covey and have watched man;y videos to see how I want to set mine up. Yours is the first that screamed "me"....lol. I like layers, washi, stickers....A little busy, colors....Love it! Thanks for sharing
Thank you for going thru the process of the different inserts you tried and why you liked or didnt like it... gives us a taste and so we can chose which ones we wanna incorporate to our own FF.
Gina, Wow! Thank you so much for sharing. Your video is the only one I watch all the way through. It was a great way to capture my need to be better organized and my creativity all in one. You ROCK!! ;o)
I enjoyed, wished for more light to see better. You are very thorough and concise. I'm anticipating next videos, great job and nice system. We all know not everyone needs a Filofax to be organized. I used the Franklin Covey system over 15 years for work.
OMLivingGOSH!!! This is fantastic! I think we are twins of a different mother. I have done this for 30 yrs and hadn't known about the "filofax" craz till today lol...I do pretty much what you do and with my ADHD it has always worked. Great job, girlfriend!! Hugs...
hi there! Great video, recommended by Rori (Rorirants). I use my planner mostly for work but love the idea of using a sticker to signify things that others should be doing to remind me to follow up, like you do with your kids chores. I need to make sure that my staff gets things done, and need to have a method of reminding myself to check. So maybe put it on a removable sticker which I can move forward each time? Enjoyed this video!
love love love ur video just bought my first planner & I was loving every page especially the washie tape idea for the hole punches I'm not crazy about the little hole ones they have no character pizazzzz lol thank you
Definitely GLAD to hear that!! You never know how what you think is awesome will appear to others....I debated for a long time whether or not to even do a video---in the fear of looking 'goofy', but I am glad I did. And glad to know that I have inspired others----would love to see a video of your planner after you 're-do' it :)
Thank you Holly...I have a homeschool binder (8 1/2 x 11 size) that I keep syllabus in, grades/records, field trips taken, plans for the year, etc. I also use a BlueSky (8 1/2 x 11) for daily assignments and monthly calendars.
I love the experimentation that you documented. I do the to do lists similar to you but I just do them on non-sticky lined notes which I punch and clip in. I don't want to follow you example and add little inspirational notes.
My dividers are made out of scrapbook paper, either cardstock or two sheets glued back to back, and then I put a sticky tab on it. Thank you so much for your kind words. Use any of my ideas that you want....very glad I have inspired you!!
I went "digital" when Palm Pilots were the rage, but before then I was a paper planner advocate! I use to buy and hoarde cute pens to use in them too. This year, I decided to go back to paper planners since my
You are absolutely right, if it was on Monday and was put in that week...I would forget it too, lol ;) My thought on that is----because of our family schedule, I probably would never schedule a big event on a Monday, however, if I did like maybe Christmas or New Year or something that I personally had no control over, I would probably put it in the week before so I wouldn't forget and could be working on the planning. Did that make sense, lol?? I hope so. Thank you for watching :)
hi again I love watching ur videos I also have a franklin covey which I.love I dont use any brand name for the weekly pages like I use regular writing paper n one day layout im liking the whole week idea bcuz I love how people decorate the weeks I do the same for my one day page layout my question is I love the one day page layout bcuz I write alot I wanted to make sections like for example reminders, appointments, must do but idk if I shud do it like that would love ur opinion ty
Thank you!! My pages are 5 1/2 x 8 1/2...I have bought all of my refills at either Office Max or Office Depot. Some of the other things that I put in my planner I do have to punch new holes in to fit. Good luck and let me know if there is anything else I can do to help :)
do you have a hole punch that is made for your planner? I see you are adding things to the planner and they fit perfectly, even though they weren't made specifically for it.
Thank you and glad I have inspired you!! I purchased my FC at either Office Max or Office Depot (I think Max) and it was $29.99. Let me know if I can help in any way....
I believe that it is called 'Master Plan'. It is a size 4 (8 1/2 x 5 1/2). I purchased it at Office Depot, but I know that Office Max carried it also. Hope that helps...
Did your colorful dividers come like that or did you cover them with paper? If they came that way, where did you get them...they are beautiful. I LOVE your style...it really resonated with me. I'd like to use some of your ideas as each page and section made me want to look at them (and stay on track with tasks, appts, etc.) so thank you for your inspiring planner video
Also where did you get the black dashboard? I have the Franklin Covey Classic zippered binder. Mine didn't come with that. Only came with the plastic page markers and the clear pockets.
Gina, if I heard you correctly, you said you were using repositional tape that you cut in half that you got at Walmart. I need that!!!! I just googled it though and got something quite different. What exactly is it called, and is it found in the office supply section? Thanks! Love your video.
Oops-I hit "done" too soon. But as I was trying to say, I recently went back to a paper planner early this year. I only heard about the Filofax craze a few weeks ago, but I'm blown away with just how everyone is all of a sudden doing it. I just find it odd because I use to do that-alter my planner and pages-long before it was "in." I guess we were cool before we even knew it? LOL
I just wanted to know what style or number your planner is and where you bought it?? I know that it is a Franklin Covey but I can't seem to find it anywhere. It seems perfect and I can not find one like it. I loved your videos..
I had my planner for about 2 months before I got up the nerve to do videos...but I am glad I did!! You should do a video. I am glad you like it, and if you have any questions or need anything...just message me :)
Punkypunkin, Franklin Covey, DayTimer, and DayRunner all use the same size & hole spacing in the desk/classic size. The smaller portable/compact sizes have different width pages.
This is the 1st video I've watched all the way through. First of all, I can see from your planner you're from Cincinnati me too so yayay! I was just put off suddenly and unexpectly on medical leave (tumor) until probably November. I won't be able to buy any of the fancy stuff but I have alot of time on my hands, and I'm bored with not alot of energy. So do you have any suggestions where I could get freebies online as far as stickers/etc go? I have some old Walmart planners I could put together
I do have a 7-hole punch. I purchased it new off of Ebay. It is a Franklin Covey brand and was about $20, very heavy duty and well worth the money in my opinion. Hope that helps....if not, let me know :)
I was wondering with your guest list/menu that you put in the week that it is happening, how would you handle it if it was happening on Monday of that week. I can seen myself turning the page Monday morning and saying holy cow I forgot to do anything for this.
Lol...maybe we are twins (from a different mother)!! Sometimes, I wonder if my planner is completely overboard but I guess if it works for me then thats all that counts. I, too, just recently discovered the 'filofax' craz...and was completely shocked. Thank you for your kind words and please, let me know if I can help you in any way ;)
I am not 100% sure, but I think the name is 'Master Plan'. The wrap on it says 'Ring-bound Binder w/Starter Set--Leather'. The starter set is referring to the fact that it came with three months of weekly pages. I am not sure that helped you..sorry, if that wasn't what you were looking for. I know that I got it at Office Max, but Office Depot also carries it.
i know this is an old video, but did you take your anniversary trip to manitou springs, co?! that's where i live! :) also, i love your style you keep in your planner
I just wanted to say that I have watched a number of planner videos and found yours to be the most inspiring! I am starting to make adjustments to mine as we speak! Thank You!!

That is an amazing planer! You put a lot of thought into it, and make it work for you.
LOVE the idea of putting the week to dos on a separate sheet of paper! Great idea!!!!
I LOVE how personalized and dynamic your planner is! Thanks for sharing! You have inspired me to start one!
Thank you for sharing! Very inspirational. A lot of great suggestions; can't wait to see part 2.
Thanks for sharing your video it was very nice and inspiring to me, for I too have a Franklin Covey and a pocket Filofax and I love them both, I love all the inserts you incorporated into your planner and thanks for helping me out with more ideas for mine. tfs, Sandy!

I enjoyed the depth -- sticker on top of sticker. I wouldn't have thought of that but it does make it look fun. Going to have to try that! Thanks!!

Love the way you decorated your months. July looks so patriotic!
And those dollar bins at the supermarkets sound like heaven! :o)

Amazing video. I am starting out and loved how you. Hanged your mind from weekly to daily to weekly. I liked that you explained why. Thanks so much!!!
Thank you for going thru the process of the different inserts you tried and why you liked or didnt like it... gives us a taste and so we can chose which ones we wanna incorporate to our own FF.

Love the idea of sticky notes for the TO-do list that never seems to get done.
Great video! Love your planner!!
Your video was fantastic. You gave me so many tips. I wilk be re-doing my franklin this week. Thank you.

Thank you :) I have not seen it in stores for the last few months.....not sure if they got rid of this particular style.

Please make a video on your home finances that you mentioned at the end of this video! Thank you for all the ideas!
Cool I'm a Gina too and I have a filo fax and I love it. I started out with a Franklin too.
Great video. I am looking forward to getting started! What type of hole puncher did you use and from where? Sorry if maybe you already mentioned it.
Hi Gina...I love this video. I can't find this particular Franklin Covey planner anywhere. Have you seen it in Office Max recently?
Thanks so much for the video. Picked up a few ideas.
where did you purchase your filofax. and your color sticker dots? , Thanks for sharing, love yours stuff.
I have purchased all of my Filofaxes from individuals in the FB groups 😊
I went "digital" when Palm Pilots were the rage, but before then I was a paper planner advocate! I use to buy and hoarde cute pens to use in them too. This year, I decided to go back to paper planners since my

Love your planner thank you for sharing
i still use my Covey and love it! I've found color coding very time consuming. I do love using colorfully markers etc to make it look pretty.
I love you planner videos. Wish you would start up again.

Hi, great video! where did you buy your daytimer inserts for your planner?
Your video is great and so helpful!! Thanks so much.
Thank you for sharing I just got this Franklin covey compact planner. Where can i find cute pages for this planner and dividers?
Etsy is a great place to find both. I have an Etsy store that has several dividers and some inserts as well.
Thank you and glad I have inspired you!! I purchased my FC at either Office Max or Office Depot (I think Max) and it was $29.99. Let me know if I can help in any way....

Love your planner!! Do you have a homeschool planner? Tickled that you homeschool and have this planner. :)
Love it!
Thanks!! I really like my reminders being on repositionable stickers...you should definitely try it :)
I bought a Franklin Covey 7-hole punch new off of Ebay for about $20. It works GREAT for putting ANYTHING in my planner :)
Gina, if I heard you correctly, you said you were using repositional tape that you cut in half that you got at Walmart. I need that!!!! I just googled it though and got something quite different. What exactly is it called, and is it found in the office supply section? Thanks! Love your video.
I actually use a Franklin Covey 7-hole punch....I purchased off of Ebay. It was about $20 but is very heavy duty and to me, well worth it.

The clear sheets are called "fly leafs" :) and I love your vids!!!
Thank you!! I also love the layers and the busy-ness of my pages....they truly are ME :) Let me know if I can help in any way....

Thank you....I will definitely check them out!!
What size is the dividers? I am trying to make one but can't find the size you used. I am assuming it is a bit bigger than the 5 1/2 by 8?
Does the washi tape at the edge with the holes make the binder rings sticky?
Thank you very much!! I am super glad that I have inspired you....let me know if I can help you in any way :)
Thank you for commenting and glad I could be of some inspiration to you :) Would love to see videos of your planners!!

I agree, more light was definitely needed....hopefully part 2 is better :) Thank you for your kind comments!!
Can you give an update with this planner. The video is so dark I can barely see the planner
Actually, I am uploading a current setup video now, however, it is not with the same planner.
Thank you!! I bought them at Office Depot. I think, lol, it is possible it was Office Max, but pretty sure it was Depot.
Franklin Covey is a far superior product. Better quality leather, hands down. The paper quality is also much better. You'll enjoy it!
I am not 100% sure, but I think the name is 'Master Plan'. The wrap on it says 'Ring-bound Binder w/Starter Set--Leather'. We did!! And we loved it!! We actually have since taken our kids there for a vacation--they loved it as well 😍
Very nice!
Glad you got some ideas :)
Do you have a hole puncher, so you can add the papers you need? Please help me.
No problem....glad you enjoyed it :) Thanks for commenting!!
Thanks for sharing!! Jen
I have a Franklin Covey 7-hole punch that I purchased on Ebay for around $20 :)
What's the name of the binder what style?
What kind of planner is it? I know it's Franklin Covey but the actual specific. Cause mine Is aurora but I do like yours better! = )
I have a few filofaxs all bought second hand for a couple of pounds .
