I agree the double prints suck! But if you don't mind pulling the coloring book apart and have a scanner/printer in one I would scan a print to reprint on a good thick paper like card stock that cane work well with alcohol base markers. And still have that picture later in the coloring book for another reprint or to color only with colored pencils
I literally did exactly this just the other day with my son’s official Marvel colouring pad (it was a gift so we don’t know where to get another copy 😅)The images are gorgeous! So I scanned every page in colour 300dpi just to be safe, and now we can reprint them at home on any quality paper we want 😁 For the record, the paper on the marvel colouring pad is fantastic! Thick and ready to use. I wish I had a full packet of that particular paper haha I’ll have to go shopping 😁
Yeah - if the book is double sided I would definitly copy the page. If the company doesn't want me to do that, they should stop doing double sided colouring books.
The thing is they won't put more pages in it. So either they make the decision and remove half images. Or you get to choose which images. Personally, I prefer being able to pick myself. Honestly, if I want to do both images I switched over to my color pencil. Though I understand not everyone like color pencils.
I've always loved the coloring book videos. Now, if you want to preserve all the cool designs you can always "cheat" by scanning the pictures, edit them in Photoshop and then printing them on ideal paper. You can do this either with the whole book or go 50/50. That way you could work on every design. Loved the results on this one!
Oooh. I love the detail of the fur vs. the more cel shading of everything else. Very cool! Always an inspiration, man. I seriously gotta get back to coloring.
I feel the same way about VeggieTales storyboard art. it was how they put the highlight when drawing the eyes as a little kid that made my mind explode. “ I can do that! I could draw eyeballs!“ I still draw eyeballs to this day.
Don't ever say your stuff looks bad. Your stuff always looks amazing! Even if it's not super impressive in your eyes and you think there are issues with it, to everyone else that just looks like such a cool piece of art! You might think you need to push yourself and do things you don't like but really some of the best pieces from a viewers' standpoint are the ones you are clearly having tons of fun making. Plus you never know, some of these "not as good" pieces that you enjoy making the most might be the one that pushes & heavily inspires others to hop into making art themselves.
Its so good I love how you kept the creepy werewolf or hog element but adding the classic sonic grass at the bottom of the page, you did really good and its just a great piece. Keep up the good work 👍👍👍

Even though, here the results are glowing ! Sonic the Werehog is badass. The fur, the light. I love it all. I especially like how your lineart improve the one of the children's coloring book. I think it teaches us to go a bit further and add your touch to every lineart before coloring in those books.

Sonic Unleashed is best game confirmed. It respects the story and the voice acting was the best. Also the graphics and spectacle was a joy to experience. In fact Sonic Unleashed is the last good Sonic game sega has made.

I've also been trying to create just for myself to have fun and not stressing over if it looks good enough to post as content. I have been making a lot of weird art because of it but I do feel so much more free! Keep up the amazing work!
It turned out so cool! I loved the striped ground detail. If you love the coloring book I would just buy a second copy that way you could do all the pages that were lost the first time from the markers. Plus who doesn't need two Sonic Coloring books!
WONDERFUL JOB! I LOVE IT!! Honest to God, seconds into this I paused and got the coloring books. Sonic was a major part of my childhood. The Archie Sonic comics were a major artistic and literary inspiration. I happen to be friends with artists Dawn and Manny too. Yeah, the double-sided prints are irritating... but I would just scan/print a page and color the copy :D That means endless StH coloring fun! Yay!
Sonic was also one of my very first games that made me fall in love with video games. I still have the originals and the original Sega Genesis! I hope you push to make more videos like this, ones that you make because it makes you happy.

Ahhh I love Sally's attitude. Me all day! Yaaaya! Oh also: you can put gesso over the page to stop the bleed. Just thin it out a little bit so it's smoother
double sided prints aren't an issue if you use pencils - no bleed through with the colours and as it's mostly marketed towards children (or parents of young children) they don't tend to have access to alcohol markers. Although, yes, regular markers are a thing and they will bleed through but coloured pencils don't. As a child who loved colouring books myself, I tended towards coloured pencils because 1 non-alcohol markers tended to destroy the paper and 2 for the most part, you can erase your 'mistakes' with pencil where you can't with markers. Even if you go to pubs and they provide kids with colouring pages/books - they provide pencils not pens to colour with (though I wonder if that's related to mess/clean up). Maybe you should join us on the colouring pencil side (the dark side) - we may share our cookies... maybe

tip you can use clear acrylica gesso on non marker paper to stop it from seeping through, you either paint the back or the front of the paper if you want some texture on the front

So again, I’ll suggest an idea ESPECIALLY for double sided paged coloring books, to scan/copy the page onto marker paper >_> cause pretty sure most coloring books are designed to be used with crayons or colored pencils and THATS why they do that. 1- Kiba is my favourite character 2- I played sonic unleashed!!! The werehog was incradibly cool! My only regret is that I never finished it (It was too difficult for me at the age I played it) and so never figured out who Chip is!!! 3- An awesome art piece, which was fun to just sit and watch you have fun.

The same I was about to say. Children in general use color pencils or crayons and do not give a duck if the other pic is "ruined" because they'll paint over it anyway. I do understand his frustration, but the book is for children that do not mind a cheap paper, no a profesional artist that knows how paper work and use a technique that makes the paper bleed.
Felt tips markers also bleed through and kids use those just as much colouring books are kid friendly beyond the years of just using crayons, my kids have this same issue with colouring books and keep wanting us to print images instead
I don't know where you are from, but unless you're a toddler in the UK you aren't using crayons. Kids old enough to like sonic are using water washable felt tips that will absolutely bleed through and 7 year old me had the same rant about double sided pages.
I disagree. They usually have markers just not alcohol ones. They tend to use the cheapest crap that basically tears through a page, or at least I did when I was a kid. 🤣
If you are willing to use water based markers in a dual sided book, Gold Satin Glazing Liquid works really well. Treat the page and let it dry for a out 48 hours and it seals the page to allow water based .mediums. I have tried it with alcohol markers, but doesn't work as well. Great video!

I've become interested in Sonic only in the last year, despite being only a few months younger than the first game. Never thought I'd be here lol, but it's giving me such joy. I dunno if I'd say childlike joy, dunno how much my brain is ... Capable of that anymore. But it's very fun, at least.

I always appreciate a bit of fandemonium burble 🤣🤣🤣 I remember playing Sonic The Hedgehog on my fancy friend's Sega Megadrive - we memorised every level, and every extra life (without consulting cheat pages online! 🤣) I love the finished art work. I've heard that if you cover it in clear gesso first, the markers won't bleed through. I haven't tried it yet myself but maybe something to look into! LOVE your channel!!!!!!
Could you imagine if through this video we got Sega to make an official "Artists" Coloring book and they became massively popular for all sorts of IPs? Cmon now we gotta get this on the road. As a kid i would buy two copies or photocopy pages to color so wouldn't ruin the back side of the page. I bet you were listening to Linkin Park while coloring this.
I would love to see the babylon rouges at some point in time those three are are so underrated in Jet, Wave and Storm there is so much left unsaid about them.
You're still my favorite TH-cam artist. Bus as far as your rant goes, I'm going to side with the manufacturers on this one. When most people think coloring book, they're thinking kids with crayons. (to that end, parents are thinking maybe this coloring book will keep their little shits from tattooing the wall with the Crayolas again.) Not professional 30 something with a TH-cam channel and a collection of alcohol markers worth a mortgage on the house. In your instance, I'd even argue that you could afford to just buy two copies of that same coloring book. That aside; good work, yet again!

Hello there ADC, theres an idea I would really like to share with you , which is to draw and when you colour ,use the markers for background, coverage and overall shadows , then use pencils to add more details, shadows and more realism , it will turn out so beautiful with your drawing style . Played Sonic Unleashed, I liked playing Sonic as werehog. I also want to improve my coloring, children's coloring book is the best way to do that since you already know how they look and the characters are simple.
Aww man I was screaming at the video ( in my head, I’m not that crazy) to just scan and print it, you already own it. Then I couldn’t see a page underneath to prevent bleeding through more pages, total anxiety ride there lol. Turned out great though

Love the grungy look, the added fineliner lines really made a difference from a simple illustration into a more fleshed out one.

I know. How could people forget that? The book is for coloured pencils and crayons,both are non-bleed mediums for younger artists/hobbyist

I don't know where you are from, but unless you're a toddler in the UK you aren't using crayons. Kids old enough to like sonic are using water washable felt tips that will absolutely bleed through and 7 year old me had the same rant about double sided pages.
Even Crayola supertip markers will bleed. Sometimes kids like to hang up their pics too.
I disagree. They usually have markers just not alcohol ones. They tend to use the cheapest crap that basically tears through a page, or at least I did when I was a kid. 🤣

If you are willing to use water based markers in a dual sided book, Gold Satin Glazing Liquid works really well. Treat the page and let it dry for a out 48 hours and it seals the page to allow water based .mediums. I have tried it with alcohol markers, but doesn't work as well. Great video!

I've become interested in Sonic only in the last year, despite being only a few months younger than the first game. Never thought I'd be here lol, but it's giving me such joy. I dunno if I'd say childlike joy, dunno how much my brain is ... Capable of that anymore. But it's very fun, at least.

I've heard that if you cover it in clear gesso first, the markers won't bleed through. I haven't tried it yet myself but maybe something to look into! LOVE your channel!!!!!!

Could you imagine if through this video we got Sega to make an official "Artists" Coloring book and they became massively popular for all sorts of IPs? Cmon now we gotta get this on the road.
Also the decision idea is great. You should experiment with that similar to what markiplier did. Id love to see that and who knows? You might start a big enough trend to get TH-cam attention and get the official feature. 🤷♂️

I LOVED SONIC UNLEASHED! I Played it back in the day and I wound up making an animated video about it recently.
Younger ADC must be so happy cuz sonic was mostly what you ger you drew. I love this series. I'm a fan of sonic though only one I've played and enjoyed was the werehog. So i agree with you.
As a kid i would buy two copies or photocopy pages to color so wouldn't ruin the back side of the page.

You're still my favorite TH-cam artist. Bus as far as your rant goes, I'm going to side with the manufacturers on this one. When most people think coloring book, they're thinking kids with crayons. (to that end, parents are thinking maybe this coloring book will keep their little shits from tattooing the wall with the Crayolas again.) Not professional 30 something with a TH-cam channel and a collection of alcohol markers worth a mortgage on the house. In your instance, I'd even argue that you could afford to just buy two copies of that same coloring book. That aside; good work, yet again!

Hello there ADC, theres an idea I would really like to share with you , which is to draw and when you colour ,use the markers for background, coverage and overall shadows , then use pencils to add more details, shadows and more realism , it will turn out so beautiful with your drawing style . Played Sonic Unleashed, I liked playing Sonic as werehog. I also want to improve my coloring, children's coloring book is the best way to do that since you already know how they look and the characters are simple.
Aww man I was screaming at the video ( in my head, I’m not that crazy) to just scan and print it, you already own it. Then I couldn’t see a page underneath to prevent bleeding through more pages, total anxiety ride there lol. Turned out great though
