- We revisit Locust Gap at FRO and review this Famous Reading Outdoors zone with our Rzr for Part 2 of our location review. Some ground and drone shots of trails, surrounding areas and we discuss what kind of rider would enjoy this FRO zone. Why is it called Famous? Because Reading Outdoors has the best variety of land and trail types for all atv, side by sides, motocross and full size vehicles!

Nice video. For hill climbs on fro land id say ashland south. Rock crawling dark water. General rippage Id say from middleport to past 901 pub. Dont know if middleport is still fro though lol. Fro is a great area though. Lots of hidden trails to lol
Thanks for sharing! I have not been to middleport, but ill have to check it on the map. Unsure, like you said, if its FRO or not. I always find more great locations and trails at FRO, you just have to explore!
Took the jeeps out there last weekend, amazing how greener it is now from when you filmed this. Made it down to a small lake and had lunch.. Even found ourselves on a blue atv by accident..
I haven't seen any full size at LG since I was there, usually see you at DW and Mount Carmel. I try to stage out the episodes weekly for the TH-cam algorithm, but have a few in the hopper coming next week etc, Mt. Carmel, etc

good review. Definitely want to get up there. Only checked out Burma rd and Dark Water so far (4 times) and seem like the best tract for sport quads. One good thing about SXS is you can bring your drone. Nice work thumbs up and subscribed.
Thank you! Appreciated. Its a lot bigger than it looks, and I still have not seen it all after 3-4 visits. Once I am done with all of the FRO zones I'll most likely do a "Top 10 spots of FRO". Still have to do a few more.

Awesome overview, you showed the trails well. Checkout the other side of the powerlines for a good view over a meadow, trail runs right along AOAA border.

We post here and on FB (The beaten trail llc) when we do group rides, usually in PA.
Does FRO get crowded during nicer part of the year?
A great question. Darkwater usually fills up quick, it being the most popular location for events, its where people start their FRO exploration (in most cases), so I would say yes. Now, it used to be St. Kierns parking was open, but I believe it will continue to be closed (I checked last week, gate closed). Locust gap may be the second most popular, and it can get crowded. I would say usually 10-30 vehicles in the lot on a average weekend. There are always places to go, Ashland North is a small lot, so that always fills up on a weekend, but other locations, Ashland South, Burma, The flats may not be as busy. Check the events, and then avoid those locations on those days, but I rarely run into a large group outside of Darkwater where its a problem.
