Circle of Life: The Chaotic Scavenger Cleanup

A successful hunt brings a lot of action with many beneficiaries. In this case it is likely that a spotted hyena clan killed an adult zebra near first light, and then had their meal taken by a lion pride. The lions ate the bulk but a large number of hyenas and black-backed jackals were still able to salvage some good food at the end. A couple hours after the kill there was almost no sign left to indicate all this happened! Wind noise is annoying but worth a listen for the awesome hyena vocalizations and don't miss one lioness rushing a hyena. Filmed on safari with The Wild Source in Kenya's Masai Mara region.
