I have the same reaction to all of these videos. MUCH TOO EXPENSIVE for what you are getting. I had someone build ours according to plans we created. There is an absurd focus on "cool" level, and furniture arrangements which rarely utilize multifunctional furniture design - comfortable couch that turns into a kingsized bed, collapsable furniture ( some cardboard are good), desks and beds, desks attached to walls, Most people are able to decide what they want and locate furniture, and find tents to attach, tanks that hold water, and solar cells if that;s your thing. What we hear ALOT less about is insulation, repair histories an costs, leaks, warps in that lovely wood (looking??) cabinets. Oh yes wtch out for all you do is press a button. It will break as side outs do and then what? My opinion: Decide what makes a place a home for you and what would make you yearn for a hotel. For us comfortable couches a large TV, fridge and freezer, AC, indoor shower and cooking, microwave and a small washing machine. Things we do not need. A table ( that collapses into a bed), any bed that remains open all day, lots of convenient storage space, closets for large wardrobes, or two sinks. Awnings are nice, but a large water proof self standing, (99 dollars at wallmart) with walls, waterprooffing and some sort of comfortable flooring is much more useful. My personal preference: Having done both - anything you have to tow will be a pain. Last not least = rent before you buy or build .

In general, we liked what we saw, except KORA GEHOCAB should not waste their highly sophisticated creation on a VW Amarok. It only archives that so highly advertised 4x4 data when the engine revs self destroying high and a slipping timing belt is not considered to be a warranty issue to VW - be very aware about that!!
IMHO I would say it is too sophisticated and suits more for a short overnight stay, but off course with some minor additions one could go off grid with it.
#1 is an overpriced piece of crap. One would do MUCH better (for less than HALF the cost) in getting a new www.northern-lite.com camper (which are FAR better built and with more amenities) and then a good US 4 door P/U. THEN you also have the pick-up when not camping. As usual, VW preys on the people with more money than brains.

Must See Tech I would live in something like that it be cheaper living a flat/ house. As every flat I lived in England United Kingdom has coat me a fortune I lived in council properties all my life and it wasn't cheap. I'm now in a shared house that doesn't make thing's easier for me everything is shared. I have to pay £200 that's goes towards the cleaning thing's that the staff need and it goes towards the rent and water and gas and electricity and I have to pay £15 that goes towards tea and coffee and bread that the staff and other's need and the money I have left goes to towards my food shopping but I can't get much food shopping in because the fridge freezer is shared with me and the two female's and the staff who support us in the shared house. I find it very frustrating. I've had won the lottery I would put in for a driving licence and buy a jeep home that has everything in it for me then a away I go. The reason I'm living a shared house it's because I had problems with neighbour's every where I have lived in United Kingdom socail service's I've put me in a shared house.
What average person has 150-500k to spend on a camper for their truck bed?! I've seen SO many guys that have built very cool truck bed campers for under 20k, sometimes as little as 3k. Plus you get the sense of accomplishment when you make the decisions and build it for you. I guess companies like these existing prove that there are far too many idiots out there just waiting to be separated from their piles of cash.

I could build out a camper interior and exterior shell for less than $100k easily. Hi. I would argue that it is still important to have companies like that to build these crazy motorhomes, come up with new ideas, and devise new tech and materials. They definitely inspire people to travel and get creative, design and build their own campers

That is definitely one of the options that camper van lovers have if money is an issue. Heck, even if money is not an issue building a camper for yourself is a super exciting adventure.

last time i checked a 2019 for pick up crew cab 45k and a pickup camper was about 40k? so for 85,000 you get new unit, 500,000 for your camper is insane in the membrane?
Hi, not sure how they justify that pricing. Of course, the Earthroamer is off-road capable, but still, $500k is basically a price of a huge house

#4 definitely overpriced, inflated price. that price you'll get a few decent 2-3 real motorhomes.

I only made it 1:37 into your video before seeing the 200,000 dollar price tag for a glorified Toyota with a camper on it . Jaw dropping to say the least . Do you know what kind of huge slightly used luxury motor home you can get for that kind of money! That’s Crazy!

I'm puzzled about this, too. I never attempted to create an affordable list, just those motorhomes that are the most beautiful in my personal opinion. Hope you liked my list ;)
Because most people dont like being shown things they could never afford. It makes people feel some kind of way. We all know that its a choice to either watch the video or not watch...but its kind of like that big red button on the wall that says "do not push"...still curious ya know? I enjoyed the video, and getting to see inside all the beautiful campers.

Yeah, let's spend half a million dollars to glamp. Come'on, people with that kind of disposable income don't like to get that dirty and lost anyway. I could build out a camper interior and exterior shell for less than $100k easily. There are some things that just don't belong in an off road RV... marble countertops, hand rubbed saddle leather couches.
Thanks for your comment. I wouldn't be so sure about the very rich. There are quite a lot of multimillionaires out there and the waiting list for Earthroamer is actually half a year.

Too bad there most of the time spent on each camper was exterior footage... I would have rather seen more details about what was on the inside. Needless to say, these units are for the ultra rich, but it's still fun to window shop :P

RV #5 its tank can carry 100 gals of water, which will weigh 1000 pounds. Not easy to for the pickup..
