This was my favorite LEGO theme after Star Wars. this was so much fun back in the days, along with the online game they had, and the brickfilms people made with this and with clay. Discontinuing this theme broke hearts of many. I wish they will bring it back next year!
Remember the teaser trailer? That was awesome. This, the Barraki, Batman, Exo-Force and Star Wars was awesome. Nostalgia baby, nostalgia.

Man I put hours into that online game haha, it just had that Warcraft 3 or Starcraft vibe that I love. This theme brought me into lego as well, so it still stands as my favorite :)

Mars Mission had a good selection, but at least from my perspective...you started with the best of the batch...this was the one Mars Mission set that I couldn't stop staring at...it's just a great design.
I remember these as some of the first LEGO sets that I ever got. Geez, can't believe its been 7 years since tgese came out. Crazy. So much nostalgian!

Goodness, this set is fantastic! Particularly the Walker itself; everything about it and what it does is literal perfection in function and in aesthetic. I'm blown away.
When you showed the driller transformation, this set suddenly turned from an alright set into an amazing set.
This is one of the best uses of a separating vehicle I've ever seen in any LEGO line.
I had this set as a kid and I loved it... Screwed it up and now looking at it it has insane value.
I love Mars Mission, my favorite line of all tine.
holly cow this set was actually nicer than I ever thought it would be. there's a lot of play functions and it's look is awesome nonetheless. I'm not a fan of huge bricks usually but this set uses it in a perfectly fationned way.

Man this is so awesome I love the style and look of the Alien craft and the walker drill! 👽 👍
I wish I had gotten this when I saw it in the stores. The three sided cross head connectors in the drill tip, were damn hard to find when they came out, and this one came with so many of them.
I've got to download the instructions for this. Its Amazing. Might not procure the rare canopy. But so much of this build is Densely packed. With detachable vehicles and big action features. That drill is heavy grebbled.
I can't wait to see your opinions on the rest of the sets, This was one of my favorite themes!

The Mars mission sets were one of the best stuff Lego has made with the idea,game,and brickfilm people had wish they hadn't discontinue it );
The Ultra Drill. Capable of not only Intense Drilling over long periods of time, but also _Analyzing_ any and all minerals it happens to find in the process

I had most of the Mars Mission sets when I was younger, but I never got this one, and it was painful. I love how much it looks now as I did 7 years ago.

the walker reminds me of the scarab from the halo games. just like you i could see the 80's space sets with the multiple units inside of one

How did I miss this when Mars Mission was still a thing? I was but a wee lad when Mars Mission had its run (about ten years old, I'd say). In that time I got the dropship and the trike vehicle, but I always wanted more. I was particularly enamored with the 2008 wave of Mars Mission products, but somehow this is the first time I've ever actually seen this set. And might I say, it sure is a doozy. I'm going to have to see if there's any way I can get my hands on one.

Ugh this is kind of depressing to watch because this was the last set of this line I got. and this is probably my favorite line partially because of the sets partially because of nastulgia and the worst part is they are all broken. but thanks jang its still nice to see these old sets getting some recognition

Before my friend got this I didn't even know it existed! It wasn't in the catalog. This is a really cool model, but I would appreciate more pose-ability in the legs.

I think the green antennea on the alien ship look better as mandibels facing forward. Nice ship though.
The 'ninja' is in fact wearing a blast & fire protecting anti-flash gear. The use this frequently on navy ships in war time.

I love lego mars mission and they had a game called the crystal alien conflict i loved that game so much and once by a while i still play the game on some site that contains old games
10:41 entertaining reveal but I'm sure it's been said that this is supposed to be a balaclava, a skintight mask commonly used in racing for protection. I suppose it could be used in space for flight and protection from the atmosphere.
In Star Wars, all of the battle droids are the same size except for the super battle droids. lol :P

I don't mind the stickers do much as I hate my ocd with having to put them on perfectly....not being able to do so and then wishing I had replacement stickers.....or another set to try again.

if you could modify the build so that the legs articulate up and down, it would be even better.. but as it is with the shuttle and the drill, its already pretty awesome
i think that aside from the abducting aliens in tubes thing, this could be a pretty good blueprint for a real space mission
