I'd actually go Lindor, Vientos, Soto, Alonso. The reason for this would be Lindor is a switch hitter, then Vientos Righty, Soto Lefty, Alonso Righty. Soto hitting 3rd will still get plenty of at bats.
Thank you. Couldn't agree more. Ocuna needs to be in the lineup. Playing CF if necessary
I like your batting order because it puts more speed at the top. Vientos will see more pitches to drive in the gaps or put one over the fence. Soto the best hitter on the team gives Vientos protection, and Pete can clean up
Vientos would hit 70 bombs with that protection 😂😂
Agreed. Especially with the potential for a sophomore slump from Vientos. Batting second with Soto behind him will force pitchers to throw him strikes and allow him to see better pitches to hit. Nimmo, DH platoon, then Alvarez seems like a great 5-7, especially if we see Alvarez take that next step. Let McNeil/rookie (Acuña, Mauricio) bat 9th to turn the lineup over. Really good R/L balance too.
Remember also that Vientos was incredible in the 2 slot during the Postseason! Lindor, Vientos, Soto, Alonso, Nimmo, Marte/Winker, McNeil/Acuna/Mauricio, Alvarez, and Siri/Taylor is a perfect lineup in my book!
I'm old school, so I would have Nimmo leadoff, and tell him to get on base. He has the power to hit 23-25HR+, but then his onbase is low. I'd rather Nimmo hit 14-19 HR with a higher on base. if he can get back to that, then this would be my lineup;
1.Nimmo
2.Lindor
3.Soto
4.Alonso
5.Viento
6.Alvarez
7.McNeil
8-9.Marte/Winker/DH/Mauricio/ Rookie
Can’t take lindor out of lead off after what he did last yr, but I’d flip him and Nimmo.
Every player in that starting lineup has hit at least 23 HR at least once in their career.. including both of the DHs.
Thank you Steve!!! As a Mets fan 40 years , Great Full for you as an Owner. 🫡🧡💙
Respectfully and I’m very surprised you guys haven’t noticed this. We won 100 games with Nimmo as leadoff hitter. Nimmo is the only player I remember since Edgardo Alfonzo who can let his spot in the lineup dictate what kind of hitter he is. Last year? No lead off okay, He has career or close to career high power #’s. I say (to start) how much longer does this lineup get if Nimmo who’s 100% capable of a plus .400 OBP Then Lindor then Soto then Pete than Vientos, to Winker, McNeil Alvarez, to Siri. (Marte/Acuna/Taylor ready to play the matchups. As we get to summer hopefully the Jet’s and Gilbert’s Mauricio’s become more testable. Potent lineup if they draw straws. But let’s not sleep on Nimmo’s ability to leadoff.
Lindor, Soto, Vientos, Alonso. Vientos is proper protection for Soto. Pete hits
Your thumbnails are more interesting than your conversation tbh SNY please stop posting these till you have actual interesting information smh
I'm still old fashioned. Soto should bat 3rd, with another high OBP guy batting 2nd.
Lindor
Nimmo
Soto
Alonso
Vientos
McNeil/Acuna
Winker/Marte
Alvarez
Taylor/Siri
I'm old school, I want my OBP guys in front of my power guys and my best hitter batting 3rd. I would go Nimmo, Lindor, Soto, Vientos, Alonso. I also like Acuna batting 9th when he's starting at 2B (which is going to be at least half the time).
Lindor SS
Soto RF
Vientos 3B
Alonso 1B
Marte DH
Nimmo LF
Alvarez C
Mcniel 2B
Taylor CF
Do you want Vientos Pete consecutively? Remember they strike out a lot Maybe having Nimmo in between them 2 considering he makes better contact and is a clutch RBI guy. If Lindor and Soto get on pitchers want strikeouts after that.
Against lefties having Marte hitting 2nd gives Soto more potential baserunners on for him to drive in plus he's guaranteed an at bat every 1st inning or every time the lineup turns over. Lindor 1 Marte 2 puts pressure on the Pitchers because of their speed and baserunning ability which will get Soto more fastballs to hit.
Acuna over McNeil
Connor has a great radio voice.
Lindor, Nimmo, Soto, Alonso, Vientos, DH, McNeil, Alvarez, Siri
Too many people are worried about batting back to back lefties by hitting both Nimmo and Soto on top. Soto has a career .857 OPS against lefties. Hit Lindor lead-off and follow him with Nimmo and Soto for maximum on-base ability. Pete cleans up with Vientos protecting him. Three guys who've averaged .378 career OBP followed by two mashers. Hitting Nimmo low is a disservice to his OBP abilities. Hitting Soto too high is a disservice to his RBI ability.
Plsss nooo we need to try Pete at 2,his best season came hitting at 2.having Soto behind him means pitchers will have to be fastball heavy with Pete which he’s great at but Pete behind Soto Will probably yield similar problems to the Pete of late swinging at sliders down and away
1) Lindor 2) Soto 3) Mcneil the first 3
It should be Lindor, Pete, then Soto then Vientos. PA ain't that dude to be protecting Soto, I can see it right now double play or outside slide piece bc his plate discipline ain't there. I want PA to get fastballs down the middle bc Soto is that dude behind him
Exactly idk how people aren’t stating this more
@@WebstarGaming more people should talking about it but sadly it will come once Mets are not scoring runs as much as they should be. But that's why they play the games
bat Nimmo 9th....... Lindor, Soto, Pete, Vientos, dh platoon, Alvarez, McNeil, cf platoon, Nimmo
Every double Lindor hits will essentially take the bat out of Soto hands if he bats 2nd . Where as if u have a nimmo , no way u pitch around him if Soto is 3rd
i start vientos at 5, and move him up mid season if he is hitting well, and let him ride it out if he has a sophmore slump. if he goes into a slump and you have to drop his spot, could put him in funk. he showed a lot last year that this wont be the case, but you never know
I'll go
Lindor , Alonso, Soto , vientos, Nimmo Alvarez, McNeil, winker ,siri, marte
Lindor proved that he is much more comfortable, and better, in the 2 hole. It should be...
Nimmo
Lindor
Soto
Vientos
Alonso
What about putting nimmo back at 1 again and have lindor and Soto batting 2nd and 3rd. Alonso, Vientos, DH, McNeil, Alvarez then Taylor/Siri
Lindor, Soto, Vientos, nimmo, pete, McNeil, (DH Mauricio or winker), Alvarez (CF Siri or Taylor)
Isn’t a lot being place on Vientos? He hasn’t even had one full season. What about the second year jinx?
Against righties:
Lindor
Soto
Vientos
Nimmo
Alonso
Winker
McNeil
Alverez
Marte
Against lefties:
Lindor
Soto
Alonso
Vientos
Nimmo
Alverez
Marte
Taylor
Acuna
It all depends with Lefty Righty match ups but it should be... Lindor Vientos Soto Pete DH McNeil Alvarez CF Nimmo then flip Nimmo to the 2 hole bring Vientos to 5th and shift everyone else down
I think the Mets Uniform is better looking than the Yankees.
It does looks better that Yankees jersey 🗑️
Lindor/soto/pete/vientos. Pete you have to respect with power but can be struck out at anytime and can’t run.
I like Acuna over Mcnial defensively and offensively. I feel Mcneil time has gone.
I think you flip flop Nimmo and Vientos and let Pete bat 5th .
Lindor
Soto
Alonso
Vientos
Nimmo
Alvarez
Acuna
Mcniel
Winker
Lindor Soto Vientos Nimmo Alonso Winker/marte Alvarez mcneil taylor
Mets’ed up pod is way more entertaining sorry not sorry
Marte hitting 6th
Yup agreed on the Lindor switch hitting makes Vientos 2nd to have lefty righty lefty righty lefty with nimmo 5th….
id go…..
Lindor
Vientos
Soto
Pete
Nimmo
Marte
McNeill
Alvarez
Siri/Taylor
Vientos benefits from having lindor and Soto around him so he’ll see better pitches and have a Great yr.. bc Alonso we know who he is.. .240 avg 35+ HRs so him batting 3rd behind Soto doesn’t make Vientos betterif hes 4th!! Soto 3 makes Vientos better plus Soto walks regardless so being in front Alonso at 3 & 4 is the best scenario i believe 🤷🏻♂️
Lindor
Nimmo
Soto
Alonso
Vientos
Marte/Winker
Alvarez
McNeil
Siri
I'd actually go Lindor, Vientos, Soto, Alonso. The reason for this would be Lindor is a switch hitter, then Vientos Righty, Soto Lefty, Alonso Righty. Soto hitting 3rd will still get plenty of at bats.
