Thanks so much Gary for that very kind and encouraging comment. I do record these at home. I'm a dinosaur and use a stand alone recording unit - the Boss BR1600 recorder. I spend hours trying to get the mix right.. it's gotta sound right in 3 separate headphones, my phone and computer before I will let it go. I find listening on a variety of mediums helps me hear where things aren't balanced. Plus I have good headphones, which really really help :)

Your stuff sounds well produced to me Gary. Lots of nice stuff going on in the mix and balanced. Mixing is an art all to itself outside of the making of music.. it's like when I do it I have to put another hat on. The small speaker test is the best... plus, can I hear the bass, miss and treble all separated clearly...and sitting where they should.. it's tricky. 🙂
Tricky, indeed. Mine sounds perfect in the DAW, through my headphones, and I usually play it in my car to get a better idea of how it will sound to other people and somehow it seems different when I hear it on TH-cam. Whatever you're doing, you're doing it right, because you get incredible recordings. (of course, your incredible talent helps) 👍👍
@garyschafer-thepickinpilot9010 Thanks for those kind words Gary. 🙏 I find when it goes to TH-cam.. it has to be compressed to an mp4 level file... so one trick I use is to add no compression on the mix as I know the final format will add compression anyway...mp4 sound isn't perfect. Would be better in flac or wav, but you gotta go with what the format is. 😀
