@@TheEPICStorm It's nice being able to listen to the games while I'm driving and understand everything that's going on in the match. Most magic players that stream can't articulate it the way you do.
Wow the first game was certainly interesting. I'm surprised your opponent didn't wait until you expended more sources on the chant like you had mentioned.
Could we have grapeshot them twice, for the win in game 1 match 1? at 7:19. Also, when you cast gambit with cleave you won't lose the game automatically.
I almost feel like the deck is mono red splashing a color of choice for enchantment and chalice hate. I understand the appeal of white coz of static prison but Ive been running Gruul and I've never missed the "net" white spells provide. Just some thoughts, I've tried both Boros and Gruul with about 100 games under my belt. Let me know what you think of the color difference.
At the end of round 3 what I'm seeing is there's no time where breach would have been better than past, but there has been one game where you likely would have lost if it was past, so it's not over yet but I'm pretty high on past so far
Was waiting for you to Splice Onto Arcane with Desperate Ritual in G2R2 to make even more mana! Not that you needed it in the end. But it so rarely comes up I wanted to see it! Well played otherwise, loved your decision making and patience. 🙌
I love Storm, very happy to see this version perform, or maybe overperform ? RAL seems too powerfull, both reducing cost and draw lots of cards where we used to fizzel. Could it see ban ?
43:12 I don't understand why the spell cost 4 mana here, it should have cost 2 more because the sphere says "2 spells cast this turn" and then cost 1 less from the ruby is this a bug or am I missing something -Edit: I, presumably like Bryant, forgot it was invasion exiling the resolve
R4G1 right after Wrenn's Resolve resolves at 30:34, wouldn't it be (slightly more) optimal casting Manamorphose first since you can draw another Desperate Ritual that you could splice onto the exiled one if/when you cast it? I can see a point in not tapping out completely, but it felt like opponent was letting you goldfish at that point and you're not drawing into Orim's Chants g1
Wow, the master himself. Do you have a theory why ruby storm got destroyed at the pt Amsterdam and you combo kill the bird? John Finkel, Kai Budde and LSV played ruby storm and the winrate was less than 40%. Would love to hear your thoughts❤
Thanks for sharing. I needed to move from my previous Podcast player to TH-cam music, and what should I say: ytm does not find the Podcast, while TH-cam itself does.... Do you have a feedlink so I can introduce ytm to your Podcast? Thanks for all you do ❤
Last game is a perfect example of how while playing MTG at a high level takes a lot of skill, it doesn't matter how much experience you have when you just topdeck nothing relevant the entire game.
How do you personally play storm in paper? Counting storm might be easy but then it gets more awkward when cards like Ral count only spells you have cast this turn. Or with cycle storm, counting the number of cards you discarded doesn't really matter until suddenly you draw Dihadas ploy. Any tips for playing storm in paper?
I noticed no Galvanic Relay...I went through a [friendly] league recently and was inches from a 5-0 on a Temur list (I needed ~1 more min to not time out as I was comboing off in last game against opponent). I didn't case Relay once the whole league and only brought it one total game. Do we need really it if we have Empty?
15:01 oh lol here's a situation that makes a case for it I guess if you're one mana shy and fizzling.... edit: i just noticed this was 2 months ago. Gosh Nadu sure came, terrorized the format and just saw themselves out.
If you’re referring to the casting a spell and responding with another to flip Ral play it’s two 50/50s since both see that enough spells have been cast. Aka 75% chance.
@@TheEPICStorm People interact with you and you and you send a shrug emoticon. People ask you your opinion and you anwser with " think for yourself" Maybe mean is not the right word but I wouldn't call it inviting either.
Tinfoil hat theory time: Finkel and Team Handshake copied the idea of including Strike it Rich in Rubystorm because they saw you play it in Birgi. Without Birgi, Strike it Rich only adds to storm count an is not mana positive on your combo turn. But everyone is playig Strike it Rich because everyone else is playing it. Maybe it would be better to play Mox Amber in that slot instead. Then at least you would have a Lotus Petal when you have Ral in Play. Playing Lotus Petal... I mean Mox Amber, makes me want to play Ragavan, because what else are we doing on turn 1? A great play would be Turn 1 Ragavan into a turn 2 Treasure, 2nd land drop, Ruby or Ral, Mox Amber, and that's 4 red mana on turn 2 for your combo turn. This 4 Ragavan, 4 Mox Amber build would allow us to play 17 land, but only 1 Surveil land. Not sure what color to splash yet... How about black to punish Nadu with Rakdos Charm? Or maybe Green for Veil of Summer vs Grief? White does seem decent in the mirror with 4 Static Prison, 1 Silence, 1 Orim's Chant, 1 Portable Hole in the sideboard? What are your thoughts?
@@TheEPICStorm I concede that Strike it Rich can be better than Mox Amber when you need 2 more spells off a flipped Ral. Strike it Rich is better than Mox Amber when you are trying to go off without Ral as well. Mox Amber really needs 9 or more legendaries under 3 mana to be viable at all. Maybe Mox Amber goes in a different deck and I'll keep with the Strike it Rich plan for Ruby Storm. Thanks for confirming that Strike it Rich is the best card we have in the 1-drop slot for this deck.
