this song was performed at my wife's funeral earlier this year.i lost her at the age of 29. she died with my baby sister in a plane crash. tori's music was a bond she and i shared. we traveled thousands of combined miles to see her in concert. standing in that church holding my two sons, as my oldest sister flawlessly sang, " is your place in heaven worth giving up these kisses?" well that is a moment in time i will never forget. thank you tori for writing such a powerful song......
I’m so sorry to hear that! Tori’s song Carry and her cover of Over the Rainbow I picked for my grandmother’s funeral. Tori’s music says it all sometimes while still having more to say when you have experienced more life first. 💜🌙🪐🌈
There is no artist like her period. even the few they try to throw in a similar style dont even hold a candle. The tone, passion, piano, feeling, emotion will never be replicated. Heck even the facial looks and movements are enrapturing. Simply a Goddess at this style of music. Will never be touched. I am in awe
Twenty plus years of listening to Tori and I still love how this song makes me feel like I am hearing it for the first time. Tough guys can love Tori's music too. But this is also one of my favorite songs ever, not just by Tori. Who hasn't wondered if their lover thinks that there is some other heaven (little "h") somewhere that is worth giving up these kisses?
That part always brings me to tears. I've been listening to Tori for 17 years now and she's still my absolute favorite artist. No one else has come near her brilliance to me.
If you haven't seen her live, you have to, and get as close to her as possible. Some bands/artists it doesn't matter, but it does with her, especially when she looks at you when she's singing.
It definitely doesn't seem like it's been that long but I was in the 10th grade when I discovered her and that WAS a long time ago. lol I'm 32 now. I just remember how excited I was to find her and how addicted I was to her right from the start. I wish I could still discover other artists like that now but sadly nothing comes close.
"This ocean is wrapped around that pineapple tree" has got to be the most beautiful and soul wrenching line that Tori has ever wrote in my opinion. Absolute genius with the use of metaphor is she.
Oh my gosh! I remember waiting and waiting for this to come on PBS... and I kept thinking that I missed it! And I was just about to go to bed, but I checked for it ONE MORE TIME, and there it was. I don't know what happened, maybe I got the time wrong... but I'm so glad I caught this performance! She is just beautiful!
¡Thank you for sharing this! I'm spanish and here, in Spain, We are not lucky having such spectacular show of Tori. Very good music, piano and voice. All the songs of Tori are beautiful, but I dare to say THIS SONG is the most "hermosa". Tori, sigue así, no cambies nunca.
I love Tori and this song wasn't in my top five. Not until now that is... thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I simply am calmed by her and her incredible electric talent. Luv Luv
Every once in a while this shallow world surprises us with depth...Thankyou tori, so many of us are sincerely touched by such wonderful lyrics and your angelic voice....love you
A truly beautiful song, performed by the best and most beautiful singer!! Never felt so many goosebumps! My fave song of hers besides "Snow Cherries from France"
Tori, your songs are pieces of art. Remind me of those golden chocolat boxs: You eat one and think that no one candy can't be more delicious than that... until you start to eat the next one!
The first time I heard her, I was shocked. She has such a beautiful voice. A friend bought me her book. It was great. I love Tori. It's a shame she never comes down here to Mexico, on tour. =)
This is still one of my all-time favorite Tori songs... It's such a perfect, beautiful piece. My favorite lyric is this: So then Love walked up to Like; said "I know that you don't like me much, but let's go for a ride".
Agreed. I love "these kisses" the first time I heard the third time she sings it, I thought she was singing "Viennese kisses" and somehow it seemed to fit the song.
You may have heard this already, but the original studio version is on the Spark single with Do It Again. You can probably find it on Amazon, or maybe in the store....
LOVE this song -- I can't imagine it ever being recorded in studio; Tori made the right choice in respecting "Cooling's" wishes (Those who've listened to "Live, Still Orbiting" know what I'm talking about ;) )
wow. this right here. this sad and heart-melting sadness is why Tori is who she is. Bless you in your beliefs, and I hope you are doing well. much love, bro.
@CCarmen It's unfortunate, really. There will never be musical brilliance like hers from anyone else. When she goes, it, too, will go, and we'll be at such a loss.
If we could only have more song writers and or prodigys from "three years old" maybe the music today would have the substance to last at least the next decade. Can you imagine a generation or centuries? think about it.
@0430daniel1976 i appreciate your kind words. a song as profound as this may well mean as much to you as it does to me. i love the ambiguity of her lyrics. the way a song of hers can mean many things to many people. jacky (wife) and i spent countless hours discussing the implications of her lyrics. some of the deepest conversations we ever had, were sparked by tori's music. my youngest child was conceived to scarlett's walk, pretty sure "crazy" did the trick. lotta love made to her music.......

I’m so sorry ♥️
Still saving my life, decades later. Love you, Tori

"is your place in heaven worth giving up these kisses?" the most beautiful lyrics ever written.
this one breaks my heart....i love it!
I think this is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard in my entire life.
Her talent devastates me. In a good way.
That part always brings me to tears.
I've been listening to Tori for 17 years now and she's still my absolute favorite artist. No one else has come near her brilliance to me.
This song makes me cry... Tori is... Just Tori, I love her. I never gonna see her, 'cause I live in Argentina but, I'm still loving Tori.
Oh god. She is a fucking, fucking phenomenal energy. I feel so deeply with this majestic art

this song is heart breaking
this is one of many of her songs that brings tears...it is so ethereally beautiful
this performance is just breath-taking.
I may already be a little emotional at the moment, but still, at the 3:55 mark this brought be to tears.
speechless right now
tori, that song makes me cry
I think that's what makes it even more special. I always will love her B-sides esp. "Cooling"
Jesus christ this is fu8king incredible. Simply devastating.
This is my favorite Tori song- I know she only plays it live which makes it even more special to me. Tori is a goddess!!
i feel sad, listen this song. every fuckin times.
but i love it!!!
feel it....
this is my most beautiful tori......
It definitely doesn't seem like it's been that long but I was in the 10th grade when I discovered her and that WAS a long time ago. lol I'm 32 now.

i've been listening to this version for the last ten years and just found this video - amazing!!! thank you!
Just like right this minute, now and for decades, so many loves that have been cooling faster than I can.....
Always with tears in my eyes listening to this song....She is amazing, beautiful, riveting.
Thank goodness for Tori fiends who are generous enough to put up luscious music
When I was 10, I fell in love with Kate bush is music, and then came tori. Still my favourite two.
"This ocean is wrapped around that pineapple tree" has got to be the most beautiful and soul wrenching line that Tori has ever wrote in my opinion. Absolute genius with the use of metaphor is she.
What do you take this to mean?
now this woman makes me uneasy - moves oceans underneath the skin
i love how she play the part thats like "so then love walked up to like."
"this ocean is wrapped around, that Pineapple tree" to me is the most deep and beautiful lyric EVER wrote.
Oh my gosh! I remember waiting and waiting for this to come on PBS... and I kept thinking that I missed it! And I was just about to go to bed, but I checked for it ONE MORE TIME, and there it was. i come listen to this when my soul needs healing
this is most likely my favorite tori amos B-side of all time.
One of my fave live Tori tracks.... this is so beautiful.
A visceral song, the repetition of that piano theme carries it well. Solid, beautiful.
My favorite line "And is your place in heaven worth giving up these kisses"! I love that line!
this is so beautiful, both lyrics and music, I can't get it out of my head since I heard it. Amazing..
Definitely one of her more powerful songs. It resonates....
thak you so much for sharing, i could listen this song for hours and hours and always feel as moved as if it was the first time
I was at this show. Tori from 10 feet away!
this show is amazing... cooling is one of her greatest pieces...
A truly beautiful song, performed by the best and most beautiful singer!! Never felt so many goosebumps! My fave song of hers besides "Snow Cherries from France"

one of my favorite performances.
This song is so beautiful. I wish I could like it 100 times.
I love this song
one of my all time favourites
I love all of Tori's songs, but this is one of my absolute favorites!
thank you so much.
This is still one of my all-time favorite Tori songs... It's such a perfect, beautiful piece. My favorite lyric is this: So then Love walked up to Like; said "I know that you don't like me much, but let's go for a ride".
this song is a real band-aid. Don't know what i would do without it.. boy has it helped me cool...
You can find that song on the album "to venus and back". It's a live version as well.
This is so much better live than on album.. The live performance is so very amazing.
someone played this at a benefit event for a friend of mine who had died that summer...brought tears to my eyes
r.i.p. nick gretina
Utterly amazing.
This is cooling, faster than I can
przepiekna piosenka i cudne wykonanie. Tori czaruje..
Amazing!!! Maybe her best performance of Cooling.

Great! :D
I think the best performance is the one from the Live CD2 on the "To Venus And Back"-album though. But I still got chills from this one :)

one of the best songs of tori
Absolutely beautiful.
one of her best songs.
wow. this right here. this sad and heart-melting sadness is why Tori is who she is. Bless you in your beliefs, and I hope you are doing well. much love, bro.
@NoOneJustMe05 it is if you don't split it in half, and if you spell it "underrated" ;p
but yes, she truly is.
The Woman Is A Fairy...
Always Be Blessed In Every Way Tori... xxx
this is awesome, thanks for posting
I still don't understand why she cuts a chunk of the song out (the nicest part of the song, I think) whenever she does this live.
twosoakers because she wrote another song out of that one chunk... Another girl's paradise, look it up, it's good
thanks for sharing
cooling is just the best!
Yeah, i think maybe this is the best tori´s song. love it
At the end of the songs... so emotional!!!
I love, love, love this song.
this is cooling..love you Tori!
The piano is beautiful.
Another of my absolute fave Tori songs. Vakkert!
@jackyham81 I'm sorry Sir. May they rest in peace.
so much emotions
@jackyham81 I thought that I had a massive connection to this song, but my own experience doesn't even come close to comparing to yours.....
@CCarmen

Tori Amos and the Bösendorfer piano = the most beautiful relationship ever.
This is a great performance. The best really has to be the one from Welcome To Sunny Florida though.
heartbreakingly beautiful... it's so easy
lovely. Thanks for sharing!
masterpiece
Enchanting.
🌎🌊🌲🔥🌪 ❤️
@zastro52 thank you.....
thank you tori
so beautiful and subtle. she truly is one in a million billion trillion zillion gazillion
Amazing....
@KlaudiaNomi
she also said that on To Venus... cheers:-)
