Every single video of It Got Better brings me to tears. I am so touched by the similar experience that I have as a gay guy with them. This is beyond! Love love love.
I probably wouldnt of come out until I was an adult if it wasn't for the new normal. Me being this small town kid surrounded by far right people being gay wasnt an option for me so seeing these characters was like wow Im the only one maybe this is something I shouldn't have to hide. I think I was 13 when I saw it and it made me accept myself ( i still didn't come out till years later ). Rannells is a true inspiration
Thank you, Andrew Rannells. As a gay kid, you really have inspired me to be who I am and inspired me to pursue acting. You are my role model, and strive to be like you.
I know this came out so many years ago, but I just wanted to say that Andrew is such a great human being, I've watched this multiple times. I'm gay, so hearing someone as pure as Andrew talk about this is so meaningful, especially at such a low point in my life.
I come here every few months just to remind myself that everything will be okay. I honestly look up to Andrew so much. His memoir changed my life and made me more accepting of myself. I might not be very articulate because words can't describe how thankful I am to be alive at the same time as this man and how much I love him!! Thank you Andrew!
Immersing oneself in the arts--music, poetry, prose, theater, whatever--is one way to find the strength within oneself to endure being pilloried by those who view one as "different". In Gone With the Wind, Rhett Butler says a line that sums that up perfectly: He tells Scarlett, who definitely marches to the beat of a different drummer, "Be different, and be damned". It matters not what the "difference" is. Getting to college is liberating...it's a much more accepting environment than junior and senior high school can ever be.
It does not always get better. As a matter of fact, for most gay men, things get worse as we age. This is a documentary that needs to be made. Elderly gay men need support.
SAME. I relate to Andrew a lot I violently sobbed when I ready too much is not enough because I realized I wasn’t alone. this random little broadway man saved my life.
I’ve been rewatching all of the John Hughes films that were my touchstones growing up: Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink. These films have not held up well; the homophobic & misogynistic gags are horrible.
Hearing that he was afraid of the aids crisis makes him so amazing for later playing Whizzer in Falsettos
Take a shot every time Andrew mentions Omaha in an interview
nobody do that plz
Instructions too clear.
Got alcohol poisioning.
Take a shot every time he inserts an unnecessary “like” into a sentence.
Take a shot every time he goes “Well-“ in response to a question
I love Andrew. His soul, his acting, his humor, his honesty
His hair!
"we really like you, but we found someone who looks like you and is straight"

I know them feels man.
Exactly! But, try being Asexual Aromantic or Panosexual or Grayasexual. There are lots more forgotten sexualities.
True actually. I'm glad I'm fully gay. I've never met a bi guy that was at peace.
What about the T?
