You have listed very realistic scenario of Biological Sciences in India. Completely agree with all points. 👍 Even in this pandemic scenario biotechnologists (or student from any Biology background) are underpaid given the risk involved.
You have to be constantly self-motivated, be very patient, and have keen interest in this field, you have to push against all odds, otherwise it will get difficult to sustain.

I am a student of masters in environmental biotechnology, and i must say, that we will need more such scientists in near future to breakthrough and evolve again. Well said sir. It's a sad and bitter reality that even after the amount of hardwork we put, we end up with less money compared to the other field. For some of us, passion is everything. So that's the only thing that is pushing us towards a career in this field. But sometimes, when you get an answer to a burning question, nothing feels satisfying than that.

P.S. -Despite having a huge interest in biotech and getting selected to a decent college in btech biotech ,top most college in Bpharm I had to choose for Btech(IT) due to lack of opportunities and very low income in India .

let me give my opinion..i am professor dept of neuromedicine .aiims bbsr...biotechnology microbiology immunology....they are highly rewarding if u hv enormous potential with coveted academic record...govt posts are very hard to get but are very lucrative.....specially in academics..my bro ..cracked neet ug ..renounced ...got microbios from rkmv narendrapur..now professor of national instute of pathology with in hand salary of 200000
It's good for him. Mention his career trajectory exactly so people can follow and understand it properly. But look at the percentage of people coming out of college and the percent placed...
see..immense passion is the key to everything cracked wbjee 2007..got medical college kolkata ..rejected ...appeared just to impress parents...chose chemistry at jadavpur...again resigned...got admission in rkmbv nrendrapur..biotechnology ..2007 to 10.bsc 1st class gm...joined msc phd .dept of biotech aiims new delhi ...2011 to 15...again gm...completed ilets with band score 8.5..got 90 percent scholarship at stanford...completed post doc on immunology ...his topic was quorum sensing...returned to india in2018...selected in nip in 2019...process is long tedious but u need passion ..yes settlement is definitely late....
another important thing is...if u want quick settlement go for professional course..mefical .even after passing out a govt job is sure worth 80k to 90k .initial..even if u are doing md in biochem microbio...fmt ..job prospect is huge cause after mbbs no one prefers md in such non clinical subjects....

Sir i am very much confused, this year i have given NEET exam and i have scored 270 marks in that and also i have given AKTU exam for biotechnology and i am confused weither i go to biotechnology field or again drop 1year for NEET exam. Agr tm sure ho ki next year mera 570+ approx marks neet exam mein aa jaega to tum drop kar sakti ho but agar tumhe aisa nhi lagta hai to khi admission lelo btech in biotechnology me recently y growing field h jiska scope foreign mein jyada hai as compared to India . In India after completing btech in biotechnology you will get placed on package 3-5lpa only.
One thing is very clear in the field of lifescience is extensive struggle and also higher eduaction too is needed,typically in India the salary and perks are very poor to this branch of people if they dont have phd's and pos doctoral
