- Gavi is a beautiful forest in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala and a part of Periyar Tiger reserve. The main activity of this place is a day package provided by Kerala Forest Development Corporation (KFDC) This package includes Trekking through the forest and boating in Gavi dam. So, today we are going to explore the Gavi with the package arranged by Woodnote Resort.

This is surely one of the best VLOG channels I have come across. Incredible narration with details about Flora, Fauna, Culture, Heritage, and History. No unwanted hypes, or loud music. It feels like we were there with you the whole time during this video. Nilgiri Marten is still on my wishlist, hopefully, someday I will see it. That was beautiful footage of Marten. Thank you for a nice video. Went after seeing the video. Package cost Rs 8500/person. 2 Day package. Includes Day1-Dinner at Woodnote, Day2-Breakfast/Lunch by KTDC at Gavi, Dinner at Woodnote, Day 3 Breakfast at Woodnote. Saw only couple of Sambar deer, a lion tailed macaque, jungle fowl. Elephants were on a distant mountain top, too far, saw via binoculars. The Safari Jeep picks guests from Woodnote before 6 AM. The same jeep dropped us back to Woodnote late afternoon. No tea served at Gavi, though listed in the day itinerary. The trek into the jungle was nice. There were lots of leaches on the trail. The leach socks provided by KTDC guide helped. All in all a nice experience. Woodnote stay was quite good. Food was ok. Staff at front desk seemed very business like.

If you want go to gavi without package & enjoy nature just take Pathanamthitta to kumily bus it's around 90-95kms from Pathanamthitta to gavi. Bus ticket around 190rs. You will enjoy more density forest in this route & ksrtc buses stops in between some bridges ( last time they didn't stop bcz they said they new to this route). Gavi is heaven on the earth
You can enjoy the feel of forest trekking or boating if you are coming through bus.
Its just not u tube, its like national geographic, discovery wild etc,super

Mr. jbc the wild animals which are in forest are not same like zoo animals. They have to go miles away in searching of food. In zoo the wardens will feed them in a cage.

Lovely video. The forest so lush, peaceful and beautiful. Curious to know how many tigers are there in this reserve. Normally, tigers prefer forest with sparse trees and shrub jungle.
