Thanks for uploading, not least because another uploader has now downloaded.

Been waiting for this... thank you. Appreciate that Badiou spoke up in English for his American audiences, and yet, his accent is so thick that it's really difficult to decipher what he's saying at times. Is there a transcript of the talk by any chance? Cheers

Sorry, no text yet (he wrote it out in longhand); I think he will write it up and publish it very soon.

It seems Badieu misses a crucial point.
The "lack of any idea concerning the destiny of humanity" is not just the consequence of the disappearing of "the socialist alternative", but it is or it became the very form of governance of late capitalism. Governance - differently from government which implies vision and decision - is about continuous adjustments without end.
Precarisation, not only of jobs but of life itself, is key to respond to the discontents of globalisation on both an economic and social-political level: on an economic level it releases the pressure generated by the global crisis on the workers and on a social level it impedes to define a clear political alternative because any clear distinction between capital and your life is blurred. When are you not in one way or another serving capital?
We are confronted with a continuously moving master, which obviously appears sometime and might ignites sporadic revolts, but it's quickly repositioned. It's a tactical war for which I'm not sure Badieu's 4 points are really effective.

Albert Pike is supposedly credited with outlining the plan or 'destiny of humanity' something like this....We will unleash the nihilists and the narcissists to flood the ranks of the Atheists to make war on the Religious. The religious will be victorious but in their attempt to save civilization they will destroy any moral integrity or DIVINITY they used to have, destroying their faith in their GOD... THEN WE WILL BRING THEM THE LIGHT OF LUCIFER. Words to that effect

Another perspective re ''Destiny of Humanity'', visa vie the controllers of the NEW WORLD.... DON'T remember where it came from....will look again, someday.... is known as the, now check the Capitalized words in this sentence.... ''The COLOUMBIAN ENTERPRSE, to ENDEAVOUR for the DISCOVERY of ATLANTIS and all CHALLENGERS will be destroyed.''
