My guineas go absolutely MAD when they hear rustling sounds they’ll run out of their hiding spot and start squeaking their little heads off until they get a snack
Justkatie and Shy Penguin, guinea pigs require a special diet of veggies, hay and grain, a large cage to move and run around, no store bought cages, those are way too small, They need their nails clipped also, Having pigs is awesome, we love our pigs very much, they are so loving and social, but not all pigs like to be held or touched Oreo loves to be scratched but not held, Parrot loves to lay down on our laps and watch TV, and they love being outside in their pens in the summer, they come in at night, it's funny watching them marching behind us to come in for the night
I got my guinea pigs a few weeks ago and I’m totally in love with them. My brother has 2 piggies and I have 1 piggie. But I always feed them, my brother is too lazy. They are very sweet. We bought a very big cage for them and they always get veggies 2 or 3 times a day (is that enough?) and HAY. SO MUCH HAY.
@@puzzledpenguin6728 I break my pigs daily veggie requirements up so they get half in the morning and the other half in the afternoon, I buy red and green leaf lettuce, it has low moisture, cucumber, green pepper, spinach, radicchio, As a special treat I'll give them a half a grape each, or a small piece of apple, or watermelon rinds, not every day, keep an eye on their poop, make sure it's neither to soft or to hard

We recently got peanut and we got a second cage expecting for Pineapple and Peanut not to get along, but they are now best friends and never leave each other’s sides. It was your videos that helped me convince my parents to let me get guinea pigs, so thank you!
Mine love pepper but they always give up on carrots. They are crazy about pepper and it has a lot of vitamin C which is good. It is spelt Guinea Pig, their real name is Cavy (scientific name Cavia)

When I was a kid around ten years of age, I used to let my two male Guinea pigs out free into our back yard during the warmest months of Summer. They had a long winding tunnel made of flat stones, with openings on the sides here and there, where they could quickly get into the tunnel. There were rhubarb plants growing by the tunnel as well as bushes and flowers, that they could also hide in. Sometimes They refused to be caught for the night and even cucumber wouldn’t bring them in, so they’d spend the night outside. They got pretty wild. The neighbours cats would watch them like a person would watch T.V. I never saw the Cats ever seriously go after the Guineas pigs, but the piggies were fit and savvy about escape routes anyway, so I eventually relaxed about them staying out unattended. I was obsessed with them at that age. I once collected a few of their different coloured turds and put them in a pill vial, to show my friends. There was a bright orange one, a green, yellow, and black one, etc. Pretty weird, for sure. My friend still brings that up to this day!

My sister had two sweet pigs. I remember that sound well that they make when excited. They knew who in the household was their caregiver and would go nuts when they heard her voice. I never used their real names and called them Cherry and Blossom, after their shampoo. Sweet video.
Your videos have been so helpful. I got 2 guinea pigs and I’m so in love with them. They already been sneezing and on antibiotics unfortunately but vet said they’re super healthy. I didn’t realize how many times a day you give them veggies. This was so helpful. I have so many questions lol I’ll do one here and there and not overwhelm you
Oh, sneezing is actually our aerosol stuff... Like deodorant, perfume, disinfectant or cleaners. It's not the smell it's the stuff that makes it spray out of the can... They must love you lots because they will still snuggle with you despite it getting in their nose and makes them sneeze after once you put them down (they don't like to sneeze, peep or poop on us - usually I put them down after 15 mins and see if they go to potty - they usually come back right after if they want to continue). We switched to roll-on deodorant, dab or alcohol based perfume and essential oils and just air out every morning by opening windows and just wipe down furniture.
I just got my first guinea pig and these videos help me so much with making her life the best it can be :) she will be getting a sister for christmas wish me luck with my little furr babies.

Don’t call a guinea pig a rodent... it offends them. How do I know this? My friend called them rodents and they must have been offended and I cried and held my guinea pigs. I was mad at her for so long
Thanks for all the great guinea pig tips. We just got our first as an addition to 2 dogs and 2 cats and it's been amazing watching them all interact. One of the dogs is particularly fascinated and keeps trying to lick her through the crate while she's drinking water, as well as playing a game of chase around her crate as she popcorns about. Our Siamese cat had his entire front leg in the crate and was petting the piggy on it's back and she totally doesn't care, and it hasn't even been a week since we got her. Even with the two dogs (70+ lbs) wrestling right in front of her crate doesn't stop her from coming out to eat and watch the entertainment. Definitely a very brave piggy at only 4 months old.
Definitely not terrified, because she's eating and drinking water during all this, and the game of chase with popcorning wouldn't be out of fear.. Plus when I approach her crate she runs up to the second level to hide in her bed, because I made the mistake of picking her up a couple of times, prior to seeing the video as to why that terrifies them.
I have a guinea pig names cuddles he’s a long haired one and all he does is run around the backyard and eat!!! TRUST me he is safe while he is running around!
I used to have a Guinea pig named snowball. He loved to eat lettuce and carrots. His mouth always turned orange after eating carrots and I thought it was the cutest thing. He lived from 7 years and died right before I went to college.

Are you sure you piglet is not just so terrified she can't move? They are not used to being amongst other pets. Has to be stressful for a new piglet?

I used to have a Guinea pig named snowball. He loved to eat lettuce and carrots. His mouth always turned orange after eating carrots and I thought it was the cutest thing. He lived from 7 years and died right before I went to college.

Thank you for these wonderful videos. Your piggies are so so beautiful and I enjoy watching them so much. I miss my Finch, he passed away 3 months ago and I cry still.😪 He was over 8 yrs old. I am planning to adopt more but will wait a bit bc we travel more. Just hearing their sounds on your videos "fill my heart" with such JOY!!!🥰🙌😍

lilly fost yup! I litter trained mine. Ofcourse not like dogs where they hold up pee for hours, but they wont pee on me when i’m petting them or when they are chilling on the couch
