I never gave the Hall's much notice but now have a certain admiration for them, they give good performance specially Rood and Burton Halls over the hills good to see in the sunshine for a change,also for the photographers etc., nice video thankyou
Hi Liam, Great video. I was the guy just tucked in near the fence a few yards in front of you on Llanvihangel!. We have only met once before so didnt recognise you. You captured some lovely images of 4965 on the Welsh Marches. Geraint

Great video. I thoroughly enjoyed it and the sound of the approaching loco was excellent. Just one thing - our Welsh friends would prefer Llanfihangel to be spelled correctly. There is no V in the Welsh alphabet. They have a single F for the V sound and a double FF for the soft F. It's easily done, as I found out when I first came to live in Wales!

ROOD ASHTON HALL: Hey there, Great Western Fans. There are two ways of doing things, but let's not act like Duck from Thomas & Friends. My name is Rood Ashton Hall, and I hate rude awakenings. It's bad for my graceful lines, but I mustn't complain because I'm nearly always on the move. One sunshiny morning, in Tysley Engine Shed, I was only half awake. For some reason, my fire was slow to burn through. A shove in the rear from Mr. 08 Shunter helped a lot. That was more like it. Now we were talking. I nosed my way into glorious sunshine beyond, there was a breeze in the air. My Driver and Fireman were always on time for me, but today someone else was about to cause confusion and delay. "I hope I won't be late starting," I whistled in a worried way. I found my matching Chocolate & Cream Mk 1 Carriages waiting at the station, and carefully buffered up. My Driver coupled me up and then climbed up into my cab. Coaches filled with passengers and two Ticket Inspectors, I was ready to go. Yet, as I had feared, the Guard was nowhere to be seen. I whistled loudly in annoyance. Don't you just hate it when this happens? At last, the Guard came out of the station shop. My annoyed whistling had done the trick. "Sorry about that," apologised the middle-aged man red-faced with embarrassment. "I forgot the time." "Any excuse will do!" I snapped. "Let's go! The signal is down, and I'm half an hour behind schedule!" My mainline tour was going well, despite the Guard's lame excuse. What else could possibly go wrong? The answer was a trespassing young man, who was walking in the four-foot. My Driver had me whistle so loudly in anger, the trespasser speedily leaped out of my path. He was found out, fined £1000 and arrested on the spot. Thankfully, nothing else spoiled my journey. As for the young man, he was sentenced to spend a whole long year in jail. He was ashamed because he couldn't go on holiday. But I think he deserved his punishment, don't you? Thought I'd write a story for you. Hope you enjoy reading it.
