I have a backyard chicken that I raised indoors because of the weather. The first time she tried to give herself a dust bath I thought she was having a seizure XD
I think the chickens know what is good for them, I have some orange trees and over the years I have noticed that they delight themselves eating rotten oranges and love their juice. Apart from that they really enjoy pomegranates seeds and they fight for them. They love cooked onions and they fight over them too they seem to enjoy them a lot. Most of my flock is made from chickens who lived over seven to eight years and they are very healthy and still lay eggs. I think chickens know best what's good for them.
I have two chickens in the backyard and there favrorite food is bread and i think its name in engilsh is rice and they always stay outside and at night they go inside the coop als i leave the gate open but the chickens don't go on the streets and 3 kittens and turtles and dogs always come to my house but never ate the chickens.
I understand the do not feed foods, and the coco thing. But I had a cat named Toky, and for 20 years she faithfully had her morning coco, when i did. Not much, and what she went for was the ring left around the top of the cup. My morning coco made with milk not water, has extra sugar and extra salt added for better tasting coco. And if I could have added a pic here of her before she passed on, I would have. I am not saying that it was ok, I am just saying that she did not have any noticeable problems with it. side note: Her Daughter is 14 and she won't even go near the stuff. Long hared Himalayan Persians. Toky was a shoulder sitter, and very opinionated. All in all, Thank You very much for the informational education. The pic that I would have posted, would have been Toky's head in my coco cup, trying to get at that last drop. Again, Thank You for your post.
I love finding giant hornworms on my tomatoes and giving them to the rooster, who in turn feeds them to his hens♥ They also eat stink bugs and I enjoy catching stink bugs and giving them to the hens also. I love my chickens so much!
I have got 3 chickens one rare Chinese and there favourite food is popcorn seeds ,cucumber and grapes the Chinese wine doesn't really eat from your hand and only eats if you are away from it is that natural?
They are omnivorous and do love animal protein. Watch them, they vicious. They will eat each other, snakes, grubs, crickets and more. They seek these foods out. It's truly cherished. They will fight each other for these foods. Something tells me our interpretation of what their optimal diet is, isn't exactly accurate.
@@1amortensen yep, my chickens will chase down moths and dragonflies and even eat the carcass of June bugs, they go straight for the soft juicy insides.
I am so worried about my chicken. He stays hungry most of the time and I just don't know what proper meal to give to him. I am sure I can give him some small time snakc but I need some proper meal. I will try tomatoes next
@@bbggybyyyhhbj8844 my chicken is like 5 months old. We had to give it away to my uncles friend because our neighbours were disturbed by his loud rooster voice
That's what this whole video is about... "What do CHICKENS Eat? - All About Feeding HENS"... maybe, you should try watching it, again - although I don't see how you could miss it
I give mine Peanuts, Walnuts and Sunflower seeds, along with their regular feed from the store in the feeder bin which has molasses in it, I also add to that rolled oats, in the morning I like to give them porridge (which is well watered down so it is not sticky, it has to be watery). and then they get lots of grasses and they love doc leaves. they do raid the garden (which has nothing much in it anyway) but they also are free range and get lots of bugs, If I happen to have left over meat from a meal I give that to them also. If they are a bit down it is ok to even give them their own eggs I scramble them. but also bread if you dip it in water they love it. they like any dry feed dipped in a little bit of water its easier for them to digest, and a couple of things they just love is 'butter' and 'cheese' :) they let me know when they dont want any more so you cant over do it.
My chickens love tomatoes, watermelon, cantaloupe, oregano, fresh corn on the cob...the list is long :)
You know what else they would love. Insect, animal protein. Chickens are no more a herbivor then we are.
