As a person who is half and half, I love this video! Growing up, there was this external pressure that I had to choose a side. I thought it was utterly preposterous then, and I still believe that now. I am proud to be from both countries, and I can only hope my generation will continue to foster and cultivate our energy toward a prosperous Horn of Africa free of turmoil and hatred. There is a long way to go, but I believe in this generation. So big up to all my Ethiopians and Eritreans, and shout out to our neighbors - the Sudanese - for remaining steadfast and determined to ensure a complete regime change occurs in their country.
I feel you. My mother has an estranged Eritrean father and an Amhara mother, while my dad has Tigrayan parents who were born, grew up and got married in Asmara. Both my parents were born and grew up in Addis and just decided to identify as Ethiopians, and I understand that given the circumstances of their time. Still, I feel like I want to recognize and explore the Eritrean side of my family and culture, but I just get judging looks from my relatives every time I bring it up.

I would be so happy if we were trying to make the negative comments to be corrected and to help those who are making things worse. But I really feel so bad for the bad comment. To be honest when the peace process progress this last few months every one was happy, but Eritreans are always worried because some Ethiopians disrespect Eritrean sovereignty and try to use the map including Eritrea. When I read your story about Alem, something hit me. ሖድ ባስ አለኝ፡ I fell for our Nighbor when I was a teenager. Her name was Tsegreda. We called her Tsega. Her father and mother were from Eritrea. At that time, we all were Ethiopians. She had 4 sisters and 2 brothers. Big family. I was already in USA when I heard Eritreans deported from Ethiopia. I heard Tsegreda and her big family were among the deported once. We had a great childhood memory. Now, it has been a long time. I don't know anything about her and her family.

I would be so happy if we were trying to make the negative comments to be corrected and to help those who are making things worse. But I really feel so bad for the bad comment. To be honest when the peace process progress this last few months every one was happy, but Eritreans are always worried because some Ethiopians disrespect Eritrean sovereignty and try to use the map including Eritrea. When I read your story about Alem, something hit me. ሖድ ባስ አለኝ፡ I fell for our Nighbor when I was a teenager. Her name was Tsegreda. We called her Tsega. Her father and mother were from Eritrea. At that time, we all were Ethiopians. She had 4 sisters and 2 brothers. Big family. I was already in USA when I heard Eritreans deported from Ethiopia. I heard Tsegreda and her big family were among the deported once. We had a great childhood memory. Now, it has been a long time. I don't know anything about her and her family.
